Someone check my work, but my master was telling me about something to this effect. Not for devils specifically, but for many things in general.
Learning strength is difficult, remembering it is easy. That’s what training in sword mastery is about, learning how to hold a sword, how to swing. Once you’ve learned those things, mastered them the first time, it’s burned into you. You could lay that sword down for half the remainder of your life, and it will only take you minutes at most to gather back that skill. It never truly leaves you.
Under duress, the necessary abilities to survive return faster still. Under pressure, you either break, or grow stronger. Reforging a broken plowshare back into a sword is easier than it sounds.
What I find interesting is how Princess Jack Moonshine’s form and mask are different now that she has evolved from Blue Devil to Red Devil, compared to how they were when she was briefly a Red Devil during her initial binding.
Also, it looks like the counters worn by the Priests of the Count are counting down the numbers of their fellow priests who die in their presence. I wonder what they do when they’re not hunting down intruders…
I believe it likely that the Priests of the Count maintain a very strict hierarchy, and that the number is simply counting down their precedence in that hierarchy. The lower the number the more senior the priest.
By simply mentioning the cat you have made a movement in the laws of Narrative Causality that increase the likelihood of the cat turning out to be Cat Master while the white demon is merely a servant.
So does that mean the Princess Mamoru Moonshine Jaegermeister Jack Jack Daniels Timothy Tim Bill Freddy Mercury Blueberry Luna Esquire no longer has such a long name?
If we go by the names given to each stage of the original binding process, then she has lost the Blue names “Blueberry Luna Esquire”. Those were the names on the panel where old Vladok turned his final color.
So, her Red names are “Princess Mamoru Moonshine Jaegermeister Jack Jack Daniels Tim Bill Freddy Mercury”.
I do like this dynamic where people call you names and that limits you, and when you can let go of those names you can become GREATER. Al-yis-un, take note!
Memories of Death, of Pain, of wanton Slaughter.
Curse be to YISUN, who made it so.
Curse be to the Kings, who wallow in the sloe.
Curse be to Yalbachoath, who’s memories embody it.
Curse be to the Wheel, broken like a butchered sow.
Please, Kill-Six-Billion-Demons!
Save this Inevitable Corpse from its cracked Woe!
I didn’t know Princess used to play in Mötley Crüe. All he needs now is a guitar.

This development leads to a thought: if Princess is breaking out to Vladok under stress, is another diminished demon going to follow suit shortly?
She certainly seems to be finding things stressful, and her alter ego would be mighty handy right about now.
What I find interesting is how Princess Jack Moonshine’s form and mask are different now that she has evolved from Blue Devil to Red Devil, compared to how they were when she was briefly a Red Devil during her initial binding.

Alternatively, they’re counting down because the other members of the devils’ heist are killing those at a lower number.
I believe it likely that the Priests of the Count maintain a very strict hierarchy, and that the number is simply counting down their precedence in that hierarchy. The lower the number the more senior the priest.
Hell yeah! Way to go Princess! Discard those names!

How mooks have a baaad day: Their weakest opponent evolves mid-fight. Think Cio’s next?
I believe that the Priest’s weakest opponent is, in fact, the cat.
By simply mentioning the cat you have made a movement in the laws of Narrative Causality that increase the likelihood of the cat turning out to be Cat Master while the white demon is merely a servant.
Here’s hoping this is a one-two thing and next page Cio transforms too.
So does that mean the Princess Mamoru Moonshine Jaegermeister Jack Jack Daniels Timothy Tim Bill Freddy Mercury Blueberry Luna Esquire no longer has such a long name?
I suspect at least one of the names has dropped off of the list.
If we go by the names given to each stage of the original binding process, then she has lost the Blue names “Blueberry Luna Esquire”. Those were the names on the panel where old Vladok turned his final color.

Isn’t the mouse-over her new name?
So “Princess Jack Moonshine”?
