Seeker of Thrones 7-87
Chapter: 7
“Know this! The great dragon paid three hundredweight in silver to rid himself of earthly ties.
But a burden a hundred times that did he cast off in blood.

Of all the places to go in the infinite vault, you want to see the giant dragon that’s probably going to kill you all.
Devils, man.
I can’t work with them.
They’re all insane.
The sweetest flesh
Is around the stone.
I’ve cut my tongue before.
I’m personally more interested in these badass guards we keep hearing about, but they don’t seem to have appeared yet, despite the efforts of a certain giant screaming head.
There’s method to the madness when you remember that the Rising King’s boy toy is probably, almost certainly being held in Mammon’s personal vault.
And that the entire point of this outing is to rescue his sorry, mistaken-for-royal ass.
It’s always struck me unusual that Mammon considered his family a liability rather than an asset, for example, the fortune I made from selling my parents into slavery allowed me to purchase my first Sky ship, and I continue to profit from the sale of my children.
He was purging potential weakness, I think, as well as — unlikely but potential — competition.
(Late to the party, I’m catching up)
Maybe it’s how the laws worked around there? Maybe he was obliged to take care of his family as long as they’re alive. Or it’s more simple and he did it for heritage/insurance money, then it got glorified into “cutting his mortal ties” by his cult. When you’re a god you’re the one deciding what’s noble.
Oh hey, Cio, you growing some horns. Yabalchoath lurks behind the mask.
Just wait until she spouts an extra pair arms.
That would be truly Grievous.
hurr hurr
And the prehensile hair.
She’s growing taller, too, with smaller eyes and a crueler face.
She had six arms in her first appearance.
…I get this feeling that jokes about Cio getting more ‘horny’ as times goes on are going to pop up soon.
If things stay on the current trajectory this site will be doing Clio hentai soon.
The word ‘blood’ can have more than one meaning, and thus muddles the meaning of the priests’ dogma. Are they saying that much unprofitable death was wrought that day, or that Mammon’s action was financially sound as family ties would draw on the dragon’s coffers more than what was paid to have them killed?
Maybe it’s both, somehow?
i am *so* proud of my beautiful children
Oh hey. Look at those extra horns on Cio’s face.
Also Cio might be getting hotter.
They grow up so fast.
Hello extra horns on Cio’s face.
There were extra horns on the front of the “new” cleric of the count. His compatriots didn’t notice. They must think it impolite to glance down at a co-worker’s chest.
Cio is starting to look a bit more like a red I think.
Did she always have those extra little horns?
No.
heHEheHEhEHeHEHEHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
Don’t get all worked up. She just drank a little blue devil liquor. They will wear off soon. (smirk)
Who knew that Mammon is just a re-incarnation of Scrooge McDuck.
Silence, you fool! You tempt the wrath of his mighty warlords, Huey, Dewey, and Louie!
Forget not his berserker unchained, Donald the Rageborne!
Yet all family were killed. So how?
Ohhhhhhh…. Undead ducks of damnation.
That is something I want to see …. from far far far away.
Webbigail, the Silent Banchee
Mammon isn’t the reincarnation of Scrooge, Scrooge earned every cent he had fair and square, Mammon is the reincarnation of Flintheart Glomgold, in a world with no Scrooge to stop him.
Cio looked so wonky man with her black speech and stuff
Now she’s going full femme fatale, and beyond
:’))))))))
Does an expression of fury often work?
I asked Samuel Colt
And he replied: “Naturally.”
Just remember, that I am waiting at the end of all natural processes.
Gold keeps to itself, silver runs like blood, and copper flows into the mouths of the poor.
An old proverb I once heard. I believe it was a proverb, at any rate. The old man who said it to me may have simply been broken.
I must say Clio is developing a quite astonishing waist to hip ratio, and seems to becoming more mammalian with every page.
Obviously this is purely a tactical move to make raiding Yre easier.
I wonder if her mask will be a different color come the end of this story…
Devils and their amorphous forms make for strange bedfellows, in a literal sense. Or, at least, that is what I have been told by those who have done such things. I, for one, stick to individuals who are leafy.
Greetings fraends and alcolytes –
Of interest… I’ve been creating 31 “Angels/Architects” for Inktober and thought the gang here might be into this stuff. All original art and mythology by me. If there’s an interest/following, I might build this out to a proper comic. Please take a look and be sure to comment and say “hi from K6BD.”

CHEERS,
MP
her hair has tripled in length since the start of this, and her horns are growing back in. yup. Cio’s going through demon-puberty again.
Does a priest on the right have € signs on his hat? %)
Also wanted to write about new horns, but many men have already done it anyway. So I’ll just say once again that Xand and Nxor are awesome ^__^
One of thirty, perhaps?
One of one hundred, but his bond to the tarnished metal is similar.
Unless each coin is actually tenweight of silver…
That’s a pretty big coin — I could believe it’s a tenweight. Also, the way Cio’s holding it, she’s stronger than she looks. (silver is heavy)
Mistress Mistress, do you see
Do you lurk behind the mask
Are you plotting with hidden glee
A dread and twisted task
YOOOOO—is Cio’s suit a Bayonetta deal with ties and harnesses made of hair? Gnarly!!!!
Hmm… Love the look of absolute horror on the faces of the priests as Xand / Nxor walk up and take the silver. “Holy crap! 00186 has finally snapped!” (even beyond the normal “snapped” job requirements).
Had a buddy who gamed in a similar manner. Rooms full of mobs, he would charge to the other end of the room first thing. The mobs would look in disbelief, like “who’s that guy, and where’s he going??” While they were distracted the rest of the party would come in behind them. Good times 🙂
Both an unparalleled painter and a keen-eyed gunner? Xand is quite talented.
Hmm… Good observation. I theorize it is a steady hand and keen eye that contributes to her well-rounded skills matrix.
“It’s all in the reflexes.” – Jack Burton
Well art is a Dex based skill as is the use of ranged weapon combat so there is an expected synergy.
Also, who expects to be shot from the face 😛
The water in the fractal abyss of Mammon’s vault must be quite harsh if it’s causing Cio to break out that much.
Ia! Ia! Ea!
