up! Other then that, fantastic blog!
That bargain she made, while probably disadvantageous for Alice in the long run, and made for all the wrong reasons, was ultimately necessary, in my opinion.
I don’t believe that there was any other way for Al-YIS to progress without making that deal. While the true cost will prove far greater than she could have predicted, even so it is probably bearable considering what might have happened had she turned down the power offered when she needed it most.
I just hope that, in the end, the suffering for Alice and her friends isn’t too great.
I hope that is not the same person who renamed themself to the unholy things they do to beavers after they kill them.
I hear he didn’t take well to getting old…
I must agree. This is up there in my favorite pages so far. The pacing of the reveal that Allison is no longer in control of her body is amazing, along with Oscar’s the chaos going on in the background.
Careful toying with flame. It is a wild thing, in it’s very marrow a burrowing heat, a sheen of sweat and molten salt. Parched as a man lost in a sea without end, thirsting more with every swallow. But it is most of all, hungry.
Keep from its teeth if you can, though its maw be wide. There are easier paths than being eaten alive.
Ah
I was expecting something a bit more elaborate
Here Incubus shows the foremost principal of tactical planning: sometimes making the obvious move is the least expected.
On guard for the obvious corruption she witnessed earlier, it seems Alice-UN missed the knife coming for her throat
So it goes
It makes sense that Allison would put her title of Eternal President of the Bad Decision Club to good usage in this particular instance. At least, if she could. Feeding the lock-picking cat enthusiast to the door so that all and sundry can dodge the kung fu accountants for as long as possible is technically the best choice available, sure. But in all seriousness, fuck that noise. Shed a few lakes worth of blood to preserve the adorable locksmith, she’s going to come in handy when the crew runs into any number of security measures put in after Yab’s break-in. This is why the crew brought Cat Master to this shindig.
To say nothing of morality, such as that the Rising King cleves to.
Oh, and it seems that poor Cio agrees with Allison on this matter, more than she would ever wish upon an enemy…
I’m not entirely sure how this works but I assume she must hunt down whatever sliver Incubus put in her mind and kill it to get rid of the body hijacking.
If she does that she’ll likely loose the strength and knowledge it grants her though.
Also I assume it will only possess her intermittently to keep her from killing it.
Gaze yonder, a sight to behold!
As interwoven stories slowly unfold!
But they’re getting shorter and shorter!
I wonder, with all these friends, why bother?
Our deal with the devil took quite a while to backfire, but it had to happen eventually.
Now, dear Allison, how do you go about fighting for control of your body?
Huh. She was ok with literal demon sacrifice…
It is worth considering that humans are the only creatures in creation that live only once.
A murder is not a sacrifice. Alison did not sacrifice anyone, she murdered a devil that attacked her.
Also that was an unplanned act she immediately regretted. Ie, she was not okay with it.
In comparison this is a planned act at least Oscar appears to have looked forward to.
Arguably wasn’t murder either. Murder implies wrongful killing.
Said demon was trying to sacrifice her, tho. Plus, as is now clearly evident, Allison’s not always completely in control of herself.
That was revenge. Not the same thing.
Revenge comes at a price
When cost comes we sacrifice.
It’s sweet, but doesn’t taste nice.
Everyone knows demons aren’t people…
Cio was.
BUT NOW THERE IS YABALCHOATH!
Heat of the moment self defense is different from premeditated ritual sacrifice. Also even the former made her freak out and throw up.
Regret and Hesitation are the trappings of lessers, not Royalty

i think incubus was in control when she did that
… And here is where the piper comes to be paid.

Agreed.
Something must be eaten.
I agree. Without this bargain, she wouldn’t have survived to overcome the terrible price.
I plan to enjoy the chaos though.
Also, do you know my friend 444 Bear Killer?
We slew many demon lords together.
Ah, may AL-YISUN overcome her cycles of guilt
I hope that is not the same person who renamed themself to the unholy things they do to beavers after they kill them.
I hear he didn’t take well to getting old…
A day. Allison’s decision to let a malevolent god take over part of her brain took a day to bite her in the ass.
Incubus has never been particularly good at this whole “delayed gratification” thing.
He’s premature alright.
Wow, what a wonderful page. You’ve really outdone yourself…

To be quite honest I dont know what she thought would happen
Felicia or Alice?
Yes

Only way to escape is to go out of her mind.

Curiouser and curiouser.

Poor Lucky Allison.
And there’s the catch.
Looks like Cio is not totally ok with this either…
Ah yes, AlYISun has learned the horrible price that one must pay for the fast track to power. You cease to be the being in control.
If you do not know your enemies or yourself, you will be imperiled in every battle. – Sun Tzu
In order to escape, she must exert more power than what is keeping her trapped.
The being trapping her is herself, with a boost from Incubus.
Hm. Tricky. It could take a while to sort this one out. And a while is exactly what she doesn’t have.
What do you do when your enemy is your own reflection?
Alice must cut herself into a new shape, of course.
Shatter the mirror, obviously.
If your enemy is yourself, you have a better outlet for self-loathing than many others. Make use of it with extreme prejudice.
Gaze yonder, a sight to behold!
As interwoven stories slowly unfold!
But they’re getting shorter and shorter!
I wonder, with all these friends, why bother?
holy. crap.
The sound of a teacup off in the distance
They all want to use you, dear. And you let one of them into your damn head.
Our deal with the devil took quite a while to backfire, but it had to happen eventually.
Now, dear Allison, how do you go about fighting for control of your body?
TIME TO DO BALLET IN YOUR OWN EYE
It seems the eyes really are the window to the soul.

Cotton for a fool.
OI! WUT U SAY ABOUT ME M8?
I admit that I look for The Rhyming Wax Head to make comments, every time.
