Seeker of Thrones 6-69
Chapter: 6
“There’s no kinship among thieves, and there’s even less among devils. If I had to pick one over the other, I’d go with the thief. Judges help the man who picks a devil for a traveling companion.”
– Amvater ya Imven, Bone Monk

Suuz really has no sense of self-preservation.
Suuz really has no sense of preservation
Suuz really has no sense of self-preservation
Wait, where do those fountains of gold coins go?
It is actually mimic food, which explains the mass of furniture below.
Woops!
I think a certain devil has just reduced their lifespan rather significantly.
What? No!
I shoot the bus driver.
“Less of thee, more for me”
kill counter is about to go up.
Mmm watcha say
Mmm that you only meant well?
SHE. HAD. IT. Coming.
She had it coming.
She had it coming.
She had it coming, all along.
If you’d of been there.
If you’d of seen it.
I betchu you would have fed her to the massive amount of mimics.
Hmm… I would think that someone with Godly power could get terribly pissed off from an attempted assassination. It sure would cut down on the duration of the dungeon crawl if she were to simply destroy everything between her and Mammon / her boy friend. Maybe some brute force tesseract deconstruction?
Hmm… does anyone else hear “I’ve Got The Power” playing in the background?

Honestly, I’m more thinking “Bad Man”

Just for thematic appropriateness.
You know I was going to say ‘what a clearly stupid decision’, but looking at it – Alison is right at the back, she’s not got any publicly revealed special powers or skills, she’s struggling, scared, slowing the group down – she looks like dead weight, from the devil’s perspective.
I mean, it’s still going to backfire on that devil super, super badly, but it’s not so obvious in advance.
And thieving devils are the worst of all
Despite the availability of chairs I doubt Al Yisun will take this treachery sitting down. Suuz the Acrobat better have her devilish affairs in order.
A pretender to be sure, only Royalty truly know of the Art of Cutting, and this Devil is no Royal.
A truely Royal cut redefines the self and the universe in one circular motion. As you say, this one is lacking. In fact it does just the opposite. These two, formerly nutural parties are now so connected that confrotation and recconing are unavoidable.
Wait, did Charon get across?
Presumably both Charon and the pale mechanic are still behind Allison.
AESMA’S APPENDIX.
Now comes the worst game of musical chairs ever played.
I’m not sure what else she expected, really.
I think this party is about to lose a member…And it isn’t going to be AL-YS-UN.
A stadium-full of mimics can’t provide much opposition to a rising king who truly grasps and cuts…And I bet this betrayal will provide her all the rage she needs to obviate any self-doubt or hesitation in the coming moment.
…Or perhaps Suuz is just going to pull the line more taut to provide Alison an easier time.
Naaaaah.
(On the other hand, this seems awfully stupid on Suuz’s part…Either she hasn’t figured out that Alison is a Power to contend with (which would be very stupid on her part, since our favorite fancy-dressed gentleman defers to her) or she’s in the employ of the Dragon, in which case this is a terribly poor place and time to take on someone with the King’s Key locked in her cranium).
Let alone a devil with both a rope AND scissors.
Prepare for something sudden yet inevitable.
Someone’s gonna get cut over this. Or at least stabbed.
Treason must never go unpunished, even when it was expected
“Wha… You unbelievable asshole! Ok, I should’ve had expected that.”
