Seeker of Thrones 6-67
Chapter: 6
“He that feedeth the worm called Doubt must tend it all his days,
But he that ignoreth the worm called Doubt doth permit it to swell until it feedeth upon his very heart.”
– Knight’s manual, author unknown

Now to find out… will it be Berand or the young man with the pistol who is immediately tossed over the railing?
Angels can move really fast when they want to- by panel 6 White Chain has probably already disarmed him, tossed him over the railing, and forced him to enter 12-step rehabilitation program to cure him of his criminal tendencies.
This Petal Knight seems to have heard that Yabalcoath is back this season.
An Old Face showing up once more? Or is it a new face with a familiar tone?
All Hail the New Flesh!
Its always in good sport to see an angel try to defend itself from the universal truths. They will lie to themselves with honor and law, but in the end, a fire is a fire. And all it’s good at, is burning.
Be careful meatform.
From a chemical standpoint, carbon based life is just a flame that has learned to burn slowly enough that it has time to hunt more fuel.
Yet Michael lied to him(her? it?), sending her on a mission that was just a cover story.
It also certainly doubted many things as the story went on.
I’m basically calling bullshit here. Just… no. I get the indoctrination and pride, but still, she’s got to know by now this exactly true.
One of the more common self deceptions is that one is justified in telling lies to protect truth.
The most common self deception is that the way one sees oneself is the truth and worth protecting.
“What reason do we have to doubt? It’s not like the universe is one big lie or anything.”
–A philosophy neophyte about to have a paradigm shift
It seems only to me that new angel looks like Yabalchoath? 4 arms, wide shoulders…And just look an that mantle on her (for she looks like female) shoulders, could it be the shell of Yabalchoath, and this angel a one who once killed her?
Okay now you’re just bein an ass, White Chain. Settle down
The only law is that of Power and Will, and it is measured in Violence.
Angels can only lie to themselves.
Angels, however, are partial to working with criminals. Should have given them dreams instead.
Are not dreams just the desires of one’s own heart? The law is absolute over all things, brother, even when all things are lies.
The old law is naught compared to the power of BIRDS.
Fuck yea! Laws ain’t shit to me! What’s that? No loitering?
I’LL LOITER WHERE I DAMN WELL PLEASE, I’M A MUTHAFUKIN BIIIIRD.
things are about to get heated up
I love how White Chain so elegantly dodges the question by using the definition of “Dreams” that comes with the biological function of sleep. That way, it isn’t a lie! 82’s skills in the law are off the charts, especially when it comes to bending it.
Those who cannot cut bend.
It’s the only way that they can keep any form of belief in a world where they are losing.
Veritable guardhouse lawyer, that one.
Between the laws of angels and devils, I will take devil law every time.
They are not so different, as they appear.
When the Multiplicity forged the angels, we made a critical miscalculation.
We built them to enforce the laws of the rulers of Throne on the Inheritors who dwelt there, no matter how cruel.
We never considered the possibility that those rulers might be anyone other than ourselves.
After Zoss and his Demiurges took over, they yoked both Angel and Devil to Man’s twisted Law.
“I’d rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.” 😉
At least there you are having fun.
The law is broken;
Yet the Lawman will not rest,
But by Will,
Let it be made anew.
You have a dagger merchant guy, quick stab the angel while it’s distracted! Foolproof plan!
Remember to dodge the ensuing explosion.
“law” is your misgiving, White Chain…
I wish angels would at least have the decency to call out when they are about to brawl, so that local businessfolk can clear the more expensive wares from their stalls. A gaggle of the spiky angels still owe me fifteen thousand over a few VERY rare and expensive pies I’d just forged; I seriously doubt I’ll see a tenth-penny from any of them.
In a place were laws are guide lines to many, its best to be flexible lest one snaps
Angels of Throne know that the laws of man are coin and death. Dispense one to acquire the other.
To be armed is to be in a constant state of striking. Thus those that bluster and threaten are unarmed no matter how many weapons they possess.
What you say of the worm of doubt is true.
Even more accurately, “he that ignoreth the worm called Doubt doth permit it to devour his sight”
That’s a joy to see your article and eventually clarify the issue myself.
Besides, the info is rather cutting edge, so like it.
