Seeker of Thrones 5-36
“And Prince Kassardis was given three vessels of wine, and three wives, and three rings to gird his ring-fingers. But Kassardis’ heart was heavy at his wedding ceremony, and no amount of wine could float it up from the depths it had sank to. For this ceremony held with it deadly promise, for it was custom in that part that the prince, within a week of his wedding, should choose a favorite wife. This was a marker, a battle drum of sorts, between the three wives of the great house of Ium-Am. The battle only ended when one wife stood, scarred and bloody, and the remainder were dead or exiled.
Kassardis was sick of this slaughter, and the hollow wreck of a man he called his father. His three wives were very pretty, but they were cruel as hawks. Even as he stood there besides the marriage pool, he could see the bloodlust glow behind their veiled eyes. It was for that reason he took his naming dagger and traveling cloak and fled his tower one summer night.”
– Tales of the Silver Prince
Better to fool a thousand fools with a thousand lies than to fool oneself but once.
Allison. Son. That look on your face. It’s terrifying. You stop that right now ya hear? That ain’t the look of a sane man…
uh oh, this gonna be like that Power Rangers episode where some pig monster makes red ranger eat food constantly.
…is Allison leaving an actual trail of little white dots around the market?
Normally I’d chalk it up to a stylistic choice, but they’re also in the panels above and below the middle one…
How strange that this Shopkeeper was an old human woman only a couple pages back! <_<
I think that’s a different store entirely.
They were done shopping from the old woman when Allison arrived. Obviously she picked up the jacket from a different stall.
Methinks a change of space, not form, belike resolves your parsing, friend.
the explanation for your confusion is multiple shopkeeps
It must be the old Cordyceps Preem Jhorne mentioned. It can lay dormant for years before taking over at a frightening speed. It happens so fast in fact that if you spin around admiring your new clothes you might miss it.
Someone get that girl a crunchy blue demon.
Presto. Our Rising King No More For The Moment will need it.
Allison looks like she’s losing it in the final panel. Still, I doubt that Incubus’ free sample is fading so quickly.
I wonder what Virtual Zoss is going to say when he shows up to MST3K Allison’s latest adventures.
Thus, the Coming King “shopped ’til she dropped”, as the ancients would say.
Dude. If Nyave buys it and gives it to you, it’s a gift. TAKE THE GIFT.
Prince Kassardis knew much of love.
He knew that push would come to shove
and hearts are best at pumping blood.
To be fair, I believe this may be the first time any of them have ever seen Allison in a state that might almost be described as “happy”. It will take them time to adjust their perceptions of her emotional range.
naked materialism: a constant in all times and realities
More like clothed materialism, but yeah.
Alison was born in the year of the rat, it seems.
I bet this is one scene that Cio “creatively interprets” to be *less* strange than the original,
Allison compresses time into space using the stylized panoramic graphic idiom of Bil Keane. The phantoms “Not Me” and “Ida Know” are surely not far away.
Hm, makes me glad that my fate cannot be found by such- strange times. Ugh, I could only imagine doing pirouettes should I steal HER fate.
And so Allison has gone completely over the deep end. Best enjoy the high well it lasts, for all too soon comes the low…
Our dear Successor has undergone quite the transformation, has she not? But transformation into what? And for how long?
Of all things we have observed over the aeons, the most difficult to see is the truth.
There seems to be many truths that will need to be discerned in the near future if the protagonists of this tale are to avoid ruin.
Hold on a second, Is that a Zweihander? don’t tell me Allison is planning to turn into a giant dad, where can you even find Titanite in this universe?
Normally the “What could possibly go wrong?” approach coming from a hero bothers me, but the writing in this comic has been really (like, disarmingly) solid. For that reason, I totally buy a borderline suicidal heroine making a deal with a suspicious entity just after one of its kin tried to kill her, and not long after another “deal” that showed her how bargaining works in these worlds. I think she’s fully aware of what she’s doing, and I’ll only be disappointed if she’s surprised when Inc-y comes for payment, or reveals his ulterior motives. Oooh… Inky… I wonder if he’s just as sneaky as the most perplexing PacMan ghost?
incubus = the enchanter/illusionist
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! There are, nevertheless, some pitfalls when it
comes to clinic. Once I was a college student, I thought how one
needs to tackle this problem but I’d constantly encounter some funny responses: go google it or even ask for a friend.
What if my friends do not have enough knowledge or experience to help me?
What when I googled it several times and couldn’t find the answer?
That’s when articles such as this one can give proper guidance on the situation.
I am happy to find this post very useful for me, as it contains lot of information. I always prefer to read the quality content and this thing I found in you post. Thanks for sharing.
