My coat! My coat! What has she *done* with my precious coat of arms? ’twas not nearly so garish a garment ere I lost it to that fiend. The hierarchy is Blue < Violet < Crimson < Gold < Vermillion < Indigo < Ebon, and all the variances in between. Starting on the devil hierarchy one naturally starts with blue.
This ‘Black Speech’ intrigues me. It seems the sort of thing that would develop if degenerated street slang clung desperately to a semblance of eloquence. Much seems to be lost in translation, but I do hope a guide remains. It is a… nuanced tongue.
The perspective in panel three is rather odd, but I’m having difficulty nailing down exactly why. The perspective of the stairs seems to be at odds with that of the floating structure.
The only thing tripping me up is Tha. Thee I grok. But is Tha considered something akin to a more personal ‘you’, indicating familiarity? That’s the feeling I got from ‘tha me not, thee’. “Don’t trouble me by acting concerned.” was the implication I got.
Tha is a dialect form of thou, which, yes, is the familiar pronoun. It can also be a verb, meaning to address with the familiar. My takeaway from “tha me not, thee” was “I don’t care what you’re saying, and you’re getting uppity. Shut up.”
erm iam guessing a LOT is being lost in translation but we get the meaning of what they’re saying anyway. the black speak provides the context and our translation provides the meaning

Are Devils Black Children or White Children? They seem to be rooted in warmth of fierce YIS, which would point at… Black?
