White Chain is clearly too emotionally messed up when it comes to Juggernaut to properly fight back (the transition from her PWNing Allison to dangling helplessly in Juggernaut’s grip is rather jarring). Hopefully Vigilant Gaze’s heroic but probably doomed intervention on her behalf will motivate White Chain to go properly Aesma on Juggernauts spiny ass.
if Vigilant Gaze’s words on ‘your body wont last long’ in the context of Krayu Mat were in reference to the true form, she may also be pretty drained of energy.
Though I agree that it’s pretty out of character for her, and possibly for angels in general, but it’s a fertile seed for character growth here.
Also, I seriously doubt that Vigilant Gaza’s intervention is doomed here, what with being one of the most powerful angels.
i found this webseries today by seeing the last two pages on twitter. intrigued, i began reading and now afternoon has become night, and coming back to the very same page that made me begin reading fills me with happy tears. i like 10 Vigilant Gaze Purges the Horizon. He’s chill.
My heart soars for Vigilant Gaze’s revelation (obviously so, as I am neither a devil, a lawyer, or a demiurge). But much as I hate to say it, I could not bring myself to bet against Juggernaut Star with someone else’s money, unless their opponent were one of the Seven, or Meti herself wholly recovered and well-fueled with noodles. Heroes taking valiant stands to defend the deserving against ancient conspiracies are prone to having their heads separated from their bodies, even if those heroes are angels.
Tangentially relatedly; Good God. That Patram Sword Hand style is a *hell* of a drug.
Juggernaut already got BTFO’d by Maya, so narratively speaking he’s unfortunately due for a victory or at least a tie. But I’m certain Vigilant won’t go down easily.
Yeah, if Vigilant Gaze were defeated and then Allison and Cio and White Chain together avenge him, it would be pretty good story material. But I’m still rooting for him – go Team VG!
Now, let us join our hands and pray, so that my new favorite character does not succumb to the dreaded Mentor Occupational Hazard and dies tragically to an enemy he cannot defeat so that he can inspire greatness in the protagonists
Lord of the Under-Earth,
God of the crossroads,
Ah-shas shebu nur,
As it is for Sivran whose wheels are spoked with fire,
Make it so for him,
May the bones of his enemies lie forgotten in the wastes,
May their shades be banished to the edge of the world,
May carnivorous dogs consume their entrails,
The lord of the Bright House shall not enable them to rise again!
I would love to have a T-Shirt, Hoodie or a Jacket wit 10 Vigilant Gaze on it, in a similar composition with “HO THERE” written on it with his font.
I love the guy since his first appearance.
Good GOD that stone floor is fragile! How many times has it been cracked or shattered or pulverized in the last five minutes of battle? Solomon’s people must have to rebuild the whole damn arena every single time they hold this “Ring of Power event”…which, I suppose, is what we actually saw them doing way back at the beginning of this volume. Alright then. I guess that’s just the way it is in Solomon’s realms.
To be fair, looking back at 9-119, there wasn’t a whole lot left of the whole platform, so, it had already been shattered quite a bit.
Also, there was an anecdote somewhere of Patram Sword Hand masters splitting rock with their fingernails. So, with Juggernaut Star being a master of it, we’re seeing them shatter what’s left of the platform with the ‘split rock with fingernails’ move.
Of course, with the destruction of the platform, the Battle Royale should technically be over (though it remains to be seen whether the chunk Allison, WC, and probably Cio are on still stands), but I don’t think Juggernaut Star gives a damn about the tournament.
Yes, it has been stated somewhere (citation?) that Solly has to rebuild the stadium each time the contest is held, so it’s business as usual in that respect.
42 Fragments the Universe Beyond All Reintegration
Quite. But one wonders who fight here each year who is powerful enough to destroy the place. Duelling angels every time? Or perhaps the arena usually gets trashed in the after-tournament party.
Ingmar Varis, Peddler of Goods of Questionable Utility
Noticed Allison getting to her feet in the background of the final panel. Might be a tearful moment trying to get White Chain out. Maybe even a set-up for one final 10 Cubit Spear, if she has enough gas in the tank to not die from it. Can’t wait for the next few pages!
An unsleeping giant throws off his dusty disguise and roars to life!
Of all the awesome panels in this ongoing work of art, this one pretty much pegs the awesomeness meter.
Would that I could do a chest thump, blow out all the cobs and be thus transformed!
I have no idea how this will play out, but I’m guessing the real fireworks are about to begin. Buckle your seatbelts folks, we’re in for a hell of a ride.
Somehow, I don’t think a duel between Vigilant Gaze and Juggernaught Star will settle this. We knew that a great war was coming; we didn’t know that it would be fought between angels.
True. Perhaps we are but small flames lost in an endless savage wilderness, knowing naught but sound and fury. Yet I am pleased by this tale of an angel recognizing his sister. Perhaps there is hope.
They wake from slumber, the fires that never surrendered light for heat, and what radiates is keener still in revelation… Do not imagine that a Vigilant Gaze is the only eye opening in the heavens.

Vigilant Gaze is quickly becoming one of my favourite characters. This arc has been a serious roller coaster.
‘our sister’.

The cross is in the ballpark, why deny the obvious child?
Now the dance begins. I have no eyes but I must weep.

Spake David Solomon: “This is why we can’t have nice things!”
I admit I teared up a little at “she” and “sister.”
He’s beautiful and I love him. I hope he joins the team permanently.
“UNHAND OUR SISTER!” I’m actually breaking down I love them so much.
I feel as though MAD-NUG or Dance of Curse should be playing about now.
ES-CA FLOW-NE! ES-CA FLOW-NE!

BULL. ROAR.
Long time reader here, commenting for the first time just to say HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME.
STANDO POWAH.
I am so glad that my original interpretation of “You are no brother” was correct.
Yay! 10 Vigilant Gaze

Could work as a distraction tactic, though a very risky one.
10 Vigilant Gaze Respecter of Pronouns and the best
I feel less afraid. I don’t understand.
Courage is contagious. Remember to wash your hands.
Vigilant Gaze more like Vigilant GAYS eyyyyy
I am so happy Vigilant Gaze said trans rights <3
Haha! Vigilant Gays is a great name for a street gang, or an emo band!
Hrmm… right up there with the Lizzies. Can you dig it?

In a decaying and corrupt world, this pleases me. Thankyou.
