Truly, the truth of the universe, in the end of time, is in the small details of love. whether it be the fun of doing something together, the things you find pretty in them, or the energy of intimacy and kinhood between you. The panels of this page are generous enough to show Allicio enjoying the former, Nyave and Zaid enjoying the second, and to an extent, the Stranger Angel enjoying the former. What is the detail of love that is for White Chain?
Joubes Draco, Gold-Blooded Banker and Practitioner of the Pimp Hand
Zaid: Solomon said he’d train me, but so far it’s just be 2 years of ‘How to look like a Romance Novel Cover Model’. Who knew that was so important for martial arts and / or interdimensional administration?
It is (as with everything in Rayuba) over-reliant on having a demigod of martial arts bullshit on hand to act as ultimate enforcer. That is not healthy for any society; they get lax in the security department and when the big guy has his attention nailed elsewhere then there is a huge vulnerability.
This escapade also wouldn’t have worked in Mottom’s palace, another location with actual security. On the other talon, the job cannot be called a successful one until the package has been exfiltrated from the planet. Getting away with it may be harder than it appears. We shall see…
Australia is full of birds too. Stacks of colourful parrots and all sorts of others. We even have a green bird with white spots that sounds like a cat, and lyrebirds that imitate chainsaws.
If you ever go for a second honeymoon and you like birds, pop across the Tasman for a look. Just don’t come in summer, because the whole damned country will be burning. 🙂
I found it amusing when I visited Australia once in December – the middle of summer for them – how the locals headed up into the mountains to get a snowy Christmas. And the Blue Mountains were beautiful indeed.
Uh oh, so the dark skin girl is gonna fall in love with the bf of the lesbian blonde girl and the guy is gonna be victim of a nasty love triangle, or hopefully we just get hot sex in the next page and all gets washed away in the next 2 page
Before, he was merely a jerk. Now he is a sad jerk with cause to brood and smoulder and pout prettily.
This is well seen in his body language and eyes. Weary and vulnerable but suspicious and grimly defiant is always a good look for romantic prisoner types. As befits the role, his hair and beard are grown out and unkempt-but-in-a-well-groomed-way. The loose, slightly open shirt doesn’t hurt either, giving a glimpse of chest hair (again, both ragged and well-groomed at once) while keeping most of the attention on his pretty face.
1. So what if Zaid looks a bit different? He’s grown his hair out, gotten a bit of facial hair (don’t underestimate stubble’s effect), and has been tossed around by literal gods for like a year. That’s gotta have some effect on how you mature. Plus, Allison is literally a half-devil thing right now, has learned Kung-Fu, changed hair color twice (three if you count the brief ultra-white/red thing in Mammon’s), and is also covered in scars. Not to mention changes that are either artistic or just time, Allison sure looks a lot less wishy-washy than she did early on, and personality change can only do so much.
2. Nyave is hardly an adult! That’d probably be an underage sex scene. Plus, there’s not that kind of time, and also a devil in the room, and also the fate of… quite a bit probably is at hand. Nobody in their right mind would think it’s the right time to get it on with a total stranger. Her “Saints and Stars” is merely “wow, I actually found you” and not “ooh snap, hot stranger dude.”
3. I don’t think Zaid’s a prick anymore. From what we’ve seen of him recently, he’s been rather reserved and reasonable. It might make things interesting to not have an entirely unlikable Zaid, especially if Allison is still going off him being sort of a douche.
4. And lastly: any bets on if Allicio kicks Solomon’s ass? Solomon is the only one of the seven who actually seems like a decent guy, so very obviously something’s gonna happen to him, probably by Allicio’s hand and with disastrous consequences. No way that a mighty and prosperous kingdom of justice can be left untoppled in a universe like this, the only debate is how it will fall.
Do not mistake law for justice or dignity for decency, Preem Nooob. Solomon is not Mottom, at least, but he is not the wise and just king he playacts.
Disastrous consequences are likely anyway, of course. We are about to see what happens when someone who considers discipline and restraint the to be soul of wisdom and Royalty confronts someone flailing about with the Blade of Want like an absolute idiot. One recalls the parable of Lord Intra.
Solomon seems a decent guy rather than a dignified one (although he does try to bear an awful lot of dignity as well), and just rather than merely lawful. He’s worried about being a tyrant even though his people seem to love him, he ensures that Zaid is being treated well (though that may be some self-interest since Zaid might be the new king), and he takes up the burden of doing manual labor to let his workers rest (which isn’t exactly lawful, just good). There’s a good few examples of him being good and not that many of him being awful.
I do remember him slaying the order that taught him, though. I think there’s a bit of justification in “the means justify the end” since he had to violently take the key, and his order may have stopped him if he was being violent, but there’s also some spite and anger over them doing nothing to stop his world from being destroyed, and also “a bit of justification” is still just a guess and doesn’t really justify a bunch of murder. He’s no angel, but he’s the closest to a good guy out of the seven.
2.Nyave’s look does have a bit of ‘wow, I didn’t realize he was this cute!’ in it, but she does seem like the kind of girl who would take her time to get to know a guy before she went any further – even if she were the same age as Zaid. (And to be fair, we don’t know her age, the girls Mottom fed to her hubby the penis tree all seemed to be of marriageable age so…)
3. I never felt that Zaid was a prick. We were TOLD several times by other characters that he’s kind of a jerk, but we never saw him do anything particularly jerkish. Worst you could say about him is that he was overeager to get it on with Allison in the beginning, but that makes him not so much a jerk as a normal young guy. (How many guys or gals his age would react differently given the circumstances?)
I hope not, this whole alicio thing’s really messed with the previous theme of restraint and order being what leads to strength. Also why don’t more people just wear devils, there’s a lot of devils and you could get a pretty sizeable, unbeatable devil-peson army pretty quickly seemingly
It seems reasonable enough to me. The power of Allicio can probably be considered justified.
1. Allison has quite a bit of power in that key. It seems to be the “leveling” system for this, so that she can still have foes stronger than her but eventually be able to beat them.
2. Cio is a remarkable fighter despite being a blue devil.
3. Cio probably has some experience wielding a key, yeah?
As for why nobody else does it, probably a few reasons as well, just based off hints.
1. Cio said it was dangerous. In what way exactly we don’t know, but that’s probably irrelevant except for giving scale to how dangerous.
2. Also, it requires trust. If I had to guess, both participants have to be willing to have their souls melded or whatever. Might make it tricky to get an army if you have to have a bunch of devil and host pairs that trust eachother, trust seems like a rare resource.
3. I doubt we can expect any random two shmucks to be able to be as strong as Allicio. As noted before, I think that most of their power comes from the key and it’s just that the pair of them can use it better.
Nyave is just starting her third narrative task (of four): divert Zaid’s sexual attention from Allison while keeping him close enough to the protagonists to work out who ends up with the key.
What I find interesting is how little problem Allison has always had with killing others. I don’t think we’ve ever seen her worry about that at all, and given how powerful she potentially is, isn’t that a bit worying?
Alison grew up in a culture that makes a deep distinction between “good” people who have rights and “bad” people who don’t. Consider just about any Hollywood action movie. Also, American attitudes to self defence. One of the important moments in the comic was where Mammon got reclassified from evil monster to “OK, just a bit sad”. An ordinary girl from LA absolutely can’t kill somebody for being a saddo, but a “monster”? He’s toast.
I found this is an informative and interesting post so i think so it is very useful and knowledgeable. I would like to thank you for the efforts you have made in writing this article.
She is, in fact, a little short for a stormtrooper.
Let’s hope they don’t have to leave via the garbage disposal.
POWER OVERWHELMING!
WE BURN….
The phrase “New Zealand is full of birds and I love my wife” has an indescribable energy.
check out this wife guy
Hmm. I shall worship this god of destruction, at least until it destroys itself.
Zaid is eying that ba-donk on Nyave like “Have mercy…!”

Skip to the part where Allicio wins and I get my money!
Zaid: Solomon said he’d train me, but so far it’s just be 2 years of ‘How to look like a Romance Novel Cover Model’. Who knew that was so important for martial arts and / or interdimensional administration?
Hrmm… I would expect no less from Swolomon AbsMcBeardsly. Appearances are everything.
Fuckboy has evolved into an Fuck Me Boy.
Hahahha, yes indeeeeeed
Salomon David’s security system is crap… seriously it doesn’t even compare to Mammon’s

Ach, come on, let’s not do that tiresome old ‘everything is ultimately about romance’ thing …
What’s that saying about only a coward kicks a downed-and-done-fighting opponent? Good to see that the posse ain’t all holy and sainty.

The art got better, little dinosaur.

I can’t be the only one rooting for Nyave/Zayd mostly as a safeguard against Allison/Zayd. 😛
I am greatly concerned this is a Gog Agog copy of Zaid in a ploy to join/infiltrate/play with the group and move away the real Zaid.
goddamn zaid is hot.
I found this is an informative and interesting post so i think so it is very useful and knowledgeable. I would like to thank you for the efforts you have made in writing this article.
Thanks for another wonderful post. Where else could anybody get that type of info in such an ideal way of writing?
They’ve come a long way, haven’t they?
