Perhaps they are formed through the same vile, swarming contortions by which the beast constructs her many faces. I shudder to imagine seeing my own features reflected in this way.
I’ve heard it said, that before the Universal War, the fear of clowns was non-existant and that it was Gog-Agog who introduced it to all the many rotting worlds.
Everyone has a price, that one thing that they’ll do anything for if offered. One more day with the one they lost, a second chance at a moment of crisis, to know why things happened the way they did… you can get someone to do anything if you can get them what they want.
Plus, regardless of Allison’s actual orientation, THEY don’t know that. The Demiurges assume she’s pining for “the Heir”. It’s as natural as can be, as far as the Tropes are concerned.
There wasn’t anything in that regard in first place, afaiu. She picked him as a contractor to do a job, so to speak – specifically, to devirginize her – and now that this is not really relevant anymore… At least to her and so far – who knows where and when this little tidbit will surface – if it will, that is.
And this is why I agree that she’s gay. She “never got around” to losing her virginity, and when she decided (under pressure) to get it done, she picked a guy that her girlfriends were “warning her about”… implying he’s known for pushing.
I submit that the reason she never lost her virginity to a guy was simply that, despite everyone telling her “this is what girls do”. she wasn’t actually interested in guys.
This is such a messed up way of thinking. Just because I haven’t “got around to” “losing” my virginity to a guy after nearly three decades, doesn’t mean that I’m interested in girls instead. Sex is lower on my priorities – that’s all.
Please find a better argument – or, better yet, stop labeling other people for them.
She could be Bi-sexually lol. Also, I thought Cio wasn’t interested in anything serious. That doesn’t mean Alison isn’t, but she might still be interested, when she first arrived, she was shy and afraid. She is now confident and brave she might be the one who makes a move, just speculation. Of course, I doubt the author would bother with their relationship outside of saving him. I predict she will go to save him and then Cio will realize what allision truly means, causing her to want more (as she currently does not believe that she has any risk of loving Allison whether it be subconsciously or not) more permanent making the two finally go official and no longer be friends with benifits. No offense but it’s kind of obvious and cliche. (not that there is anything wrong with cliches)
…Punch the clown again?
Ahem. This is actually rather clever of Gog-Agog. She can’t fight Solomon without risking another universal war, but Allison? She can.
Would put Solomon in rather a bind if Allison manages to reach him, as he can’t exactly take the key from her without starting that war again either.
…Of course, Solomon doesn’t have to hold still. Perhaps he would spend the match dodging?
No angels among that group either. Probably because angels wouldn’t want to use it and devils would be too dangerous with that much power. The guess may be wrong, but there’s likely a reason behind it.
That’s the problem with ’em verdant bastards. Look at Charon, he looks exactly like he has just an ordinary reptile face, not kind of a mask; yet nevertheless he is a green devil, confirmed via the author’s Tumblr.
It makes perfect sense. Devils are typicly not patient enough to learn martial arts, and any devil that’s powerful enough to get past the first few rounds would be smart enough to not get involved in such a high-risk activity with such a low chance of providing a material reward.
Humans and servants on the other hand train for the art itself, and would be eager to prove themselves the strongest. The reward is just an excuse, the veil that makes it socially acceptable, to unleash art and bloodshed.
The lady with the forehead laser reminds me of one Combustion Man, an assassin from a world were people fight by bending Earth, Fire, Water and Air to their will.
Detachment from pedantry is probably your last step to enlightenment.
The Hegemonic Prince of Moths; Savala Thun, Grand Duke of the Night District, Guild Master of the Opaline, Blood Royal of House Thun, First Facet of the Ma’grēti Dynasty and Sovereign of the Endless Dream
The Ring of Power is an event I’ve been looking forward to accompanying my Queen to, for when the Court of Worms attends any sort of gathering alongside the Court of Moths, the results are always truly unforgettable
I once saw a world, inside a lead and tin egg, where there arose a god called Moth, born from a Worm that had infiltrated the most personal organ of an even older dirty.
I can’t believe Allison would fall for this. She barely knows the guy! They didn’t even do the nasty, and now she has a demon lover (and that’s gotta be pretty hot, admit it). If I was Allison, my reply to Agog would be “Who’s that?”
Cio is… chitinous. She’s covered in spikes. She has bristles, like the urticating hairs of a tarantula. It’s a testament to the human willingness to bang anything that Alison hooked up with her.
She’s not coming after Zaid because she still wants to bang him, she’s coming after him because he didn’t deserve to get kidnapped and used as a bargaining chip between a bunch of genocidal god-kings. You don’t have to be fucking someone to give a damn about them.
Allison is not a monument to justice, and Zaid didn’t get in trouble because of her – it was the other way around, as far as we know. And Zaid was about to deflower a hot little barrista who was being pressured by her friends to lose her cherry. Clearly they had no real feelings for each other.
When Cio asked Allison at the end of the last book what’s so special about Zaid, her response, verbatim, was “Nothing I guess. He’s just some guy. It’s just… Nobody deserves to go through this.” Going back even further to when she made the decision to dive back into Throne, she acknowledged that while she was scared shitless of doing so she “can’t just leave Zaid… Even if he is a creep”. It’s been a long running subversion that Allison’s not doing this because Zaid’s her One True Love, but because she sees it as the right thing to do (however foolish that may or may not be).
Also, “not a monument to justice”? She spent the second chapter of this book trying to bust a notorious crime ring, then getting rightly mad at the angelic jailers for the shoddy state of Throne’s judicial system. Allison’s got one HELL of a righteous streak.
She’s got a notoriously wishy-washy morality, like giving up on Mammon in the Siege of Yre. Sure, she thinks at times she’s doing all this to save Zaid, but conquering the Universes for that little turd? I don’t think so. It’s just her destiny playing itself out.
She wasn’t chosen for this destiny at random. Zoss picked her because he thought she had the temperament to break the cycle of injustice, which he helped create.
A king Cuts her own destiny.
She chooses it’s form and carves it to meet her demands.
This is one reason that Zoss does not consider the Concordance of Demiurge to be proper heirs. They let the Key’s power shape them, rather than deciding it’s shape.
22 Black Ichor Seeps from Heaven's Festering Wounds
On the one hand, why set up a ‘ring of power’ tournament only for Allison to be sensible and NOT participate in it? Of course she’s got to! Tournaments are fun! But on the other hand, who tf cares about Zane (or whatever his name is) anymore? I sure don’t, and I’m not sure why Allison would either. And on my third hand, I must say I do love that lizardman in the bottom left. Lizardfolk are best folk~
The first frame is one hell of smigness & badassery incorporated. Solomon looks astonishingly eery (is that a proper word in thisn case?). And, myyyy, there’s sudden Fu Manchu with green Atum halo!
Gog-Agog transformation is nicely done. She is a monstrosity, and I really love her style.
Solomon is unlikely to relinquish his empire for the price of a single drop of blood, I think. And the cost of taking it from him is likely to be oceans of blood.
But Solomon wants to relinquish his empire! It is, in his mind, the only thing holding him back from going further down the path of Royalty. He does not want to abandon his empire to anarchy or conquest, though, so he must find a suitable heir (through bloodsport, apparently).
Yes, he said that explicitly to Zaid. However, Lady Worm is not at all interested in Allison obtaining an empire, or even rescuing Zaid. I think we can be sure her motives are elsewhere.
bloodsport mostly a way of finding out who could defend the empire against any other of the seven. My take is that he would relinquish his key as well. When you have royalty something like the key is mere triviality
The translations differ even from the same account. The meaning is the same. A euphemism for the worship of wanton death and destruction. Many grand stories are about to be cut down unfinished.
She’s not with him anymore. She doesn’t want to be with him anymore. She’s looking to save him cause she can’t live with the idea of leaving another human being in this hellhole of a situation. It’s the principle not the personal. She has said this twice in the comic already. God I wish people would PAY ATTENTION.
I expect this will be as much a typical tournament arc a it is your typical esoteric sci-fi story.
The best tournament arcs have a good twist.
People often forget my favorite example, the Naruto Chunin Trials Arc. It was followed by the insufferably padded, rescue sauske arc, to the point that people forget how good the tourney was. That was back when Naruto was about using your powers in clever ways, instead of having the best bloodline limits. The fights were good. The stakes weren’t too high or low. We knew something was fishy, but we didn’t expect so much war, death and betrayal.
I see the seeds of something similar here. There are too many hidden agendas and high stakes plots, for the actual fights and prizes to eat too much of our attention.
Swift Young Bull who Treads on the Necks of his Enemies, Minister of the Wind and Rains
Our pal Gog-Agog must be queen of masquerades and Halloween parties. She’s so fun !
How can anyone not adore her ?
Also also Salami Dave and Alison relative strength seem to be portrayed just about right , the plan to win tournament is perfectly thought through and cannot fail in any way. Gog-Agog is genius !
I so want Allison to brush of Gog because she doesn’t need to save what’s his name immediately. If he dies, she will kill whoever killed him, but he was just a fling that got sucked in here too.
It would be delightful to see Gog (and maybe the other gods) get super confused that they have nothing she needs.
Maybe, maybe, wait for it, Allison really is still a little girl inside and she loves the random guy she decided to lose her pesk virginity with in a planned way long time ago?
Maybe that is the reason author didn’t show us how her first time with the devil lady and how that looked and how the characters acted or how that felt for them, cause he keeps that to make it unimportant to MC and repeat the first pages in another way of joining the female and male partition in such way in proper way.
It’s clear the guy still remebers her, she also remembers him and wants to save him for some reason even making her devil female mating partner mad at some point.
Also as some mentioned before it’s a bit strange that even Devils race doesn’t have gay marriages in this world, there are only husbands and wives in normal heteronormative centric way, angels are more fucked up with their monogendered perfect form 😉
You have mistaken Alice’s lack of willingness to condemn someone to a forced state of life for love
You have missed where she said that she only wants to save him from this, no more, more than once.
You should pay more attention.
I recommend re-reading. 😐
I gotta say, this is the most fantastic web comic ever. And I could say that on any page of it.
I can’t see Allison making a deal with Our Lady of Worms. Who would want to be indebted in any way to that? Despite her (or its, or their) fancy face changing mad skills – or maybe because of it – Gog-Agog is a wormhole (heh) of duplicity. You couldn’t trust her to tell you the right time o’ day.
Allison might be inclined to save the dude, but only because they’re from the same world and she wouldn’t want to leave him in the shit. He really hasn’t been a major part of our story thus far, and she certainly hasn’t been pining for him.
But yeah, tournament arc comin’ up, for sure. Based on everything else about this artful work, it’ll be pretty fucking great. And one way or another, I’m thinking Allison is gonna be in it.
We are, each and every one of us, rendered puppets to those who wield our truthd against us. This truth of Allison is known by gog’agog. It seems likely that she will become thr queen of worm’s instrument to this exile.
The Scribe wonders if these images are visible to Allison, or are only within the Beast’s mind.
The Scribe also notes the Hammerhead Shark Man, and that he is totally wicked.
Perhaps they are formed through the same vile, swarming contortions by which the beast constructs her many faces. I shudder to imagine seeing my own features reflected in this way.
I thus name Shark-man Caltrop, because I mean look at that freakin’ head.
The Scribe gives hearty approval to this name.
Everything about Gog is positively shudder-inducing
your just not kinky enough appreciate how awesome Gog is
I’d eat the worm
The beast can certainly make the heart pound harder and make one’s knees weak in more than the fearsome way.
I’ve heard it said, that before the Universal War, the fear of clowns was non-existant and that it was Gog-Agog who introduced it to all the many rotting worlds.
ThEre is nOThinG to fEaR . cLowNs Are fUnNy !

She looks like hollywood.
The BEAST has many faces.
Everyone has a price, that one thing that they’ll do anything for if offered. One more day with the one they lost, a second chance at a moment of crisis, to know why things happened the way they did… you can get someone to do anything if you can get them what they want.
And, of course, if the price is… amenable, to both parties.
You mean, if the offer is reasonable?
I can’t help but wonder what price Dave would offer if Ally still showed no interest in fighting him. Just going there as a spectator.
I imagine being dissed like that would do him no favors.
But he’s primed to lose, anyway. Doesn’t WANT to stay at all.
“bitch im gay”
that , but she does want to save him.
Plus, regardless of Allison’s actual orientation, THEY don’t know that. The Demiurges assume she’s pining for “the Heir”. It’s as natural as can be, as far as the Tropes are concerned.
god that’s such a funny thought.
Allison: uh i have a girlfriend
Gog:
Gog: fucking what
Solomon: fuck TV Tropes didn’t warn us about this
Hmm, was that confirmed? I kinda figured she was bi. Although I guess she is over him in that regard by now anyway.
There wasn’t anything in that regard in first place, afaiu. She picked him as a contractor to do a job, so to speak – specifically, to devirginize her – and now that this is not really relevant anymore… At least to her and so far – who knows where and when this little tidbit will surface – if it will, that is.

As the Ancient saying goes ” OOP THERE IT IS!”
Ah, so here we come to the flesh of the deal. What does happen to the losers, one cannot help but wonder.
Why, they become food for the worms, of course.
I think you’re right. And if Solomon David were to lose…
And now we have unequivocal proof that the faces of Gog-Agog must not always bear the “ring marks” that we have so often seen.
*shudder*
Damn, now I’ve got some proper cosmic horror from your observation =___=
…
Thanks a lot! =D
…Punch the clown again?

Also, it bears mentioning that there are no devils in that line up of the “strongest fighters”
Are they barred from competing I wonder?
No angels among that group either. Probably because angels wouldn’t want to use it and devils would be too dangerous with that much power. The guess may be wrong, but there’s likely a reason behind it.
Are you sure? The topmost left guy looks pretty much like Big Goddamn Verdant Devil for me.
no mask
no devil
This.
That’s the problem with ’em verdant bastards. Look at Charon, he looks exactly like he has just an ordinary reptile face, not kind of a mask; yet nevertheless he is a green devil, confirmed via the author’s Tumblr.

Devils are strong but their true power lies in the binding contacts they make.
If I’m not mistaken, I do believe I spot our resident Gun Witch in the lineup.
I’m also an instant fan of the lady with the forehead laser.
That’s actually a different Gun Witch. Blonde, as opposed to ginger.
The lady with the forehead laser reminds me of one Combustion Man, an assassin from a world were people fight by bending Earth, Fire, Water and Air to their will.
Ah yes, a sparky-sparky-boom-man. Quite a rare ability, to my knowledge.
It’s Water, Earth, Fire, Air, and I’m a pedant.
Detachment from pedantry is probably your last step to enlightenment.

OH OH
TOURNAMENT ARC! IT’S HAPPENING! TOURNAMENT ARC!
TOURNAMENT AAAAAAARC!
I just watched Overly Sarcastic Productions’ Tournament Arc video, like, yesterday!
Ya, really.
Do I sense a TOURNAMENT ARC!!!!!
It’s a trope with twitching hands
Dijd agrees that strikes should land
In person. Winners need commands.
Marvelous and disgusting. Love Gog Agog.
Also, did someone mention birds in the last page? For some reason that made me remember the Simurg from the game The Last Door. That shit was scary…
The Simurg is merely a reflection or aspect of our lady, YS-Voya.
I was going for Cultist Simulator, but I’ll give that a look.
It looks like it was hell to work the perspective
So… bets on whether or not AL-YIS-UN even remembers that guy?
On the one hand, why set up a ‘ring of power’ tournament only for Allison to be sensible and NOT participate in it? Of course she’s got to! Tournaments are fun! But on the other hand, who tf cares about Zane (or whatever his name is) anymore? I sure don’t, and I’m not sure why Allison would either. And on my third hand, I must say I do love that lizardman in the bottom left. Lizardfolk are best folk~
Ah yes, the fabled tournament arc approaches. Obligatory in all things, no form of media is complete without one!
Aaah, nice to see a lizardfolk (maybe it’s even a lazer raptor?) represented in the line up. Big up, bruh!
Time to make a choice. A word of advice though; keep a shield on your back, you never know when a dagger will appear

I think it’s the empire she’s after, actually. Worms need food.
bloodsport mostly a way of finding out who could defend the empire against any other of the seven. My take is that he would relinquish his key as well. When you have royalty something like the key is mere triviality
inb4 “I honestly don’t care about him anymore. I just want to kill all your butts.”
please?
‘Ring of Power’? I thought it was the ‘Circle of Strength’!
The translations differ even from the same account. The meaning is the same. A euphemism for the worship of wanton death and destruction. Many grand stories are about to be cut down unfinished.
I got a Parasyte vibe from Gog’s face change
‘My wish is that you never do that thing with your face in front of me ever again.’
OK, that was pretty creepy.
More Rowdy Fight Boys and Girls lookin’ for a Good Punch-Em Up. A Real Slobberknocker
Abbadon was a gift from Yis-Voya.
But since Gods create themselves from the great word that is “I” of Yisun
Abbadon gifted himself to us
There could be no greater gift for the poor recipients that is “All”
We aught to gift him thanks, but we’d only be thanking ourselves
Aï, all hail the “I”, all hail the great hail that is Abbadon
GOSH I freaking love this comic
Abandon is above and beyond killing it with Gog’s facial expressions these past few pages.
The Ring… OF POWER!
I want to know the names of all these characters, and I also want to read fanfiction of them.
Punch Her Again
I knew her introduction would be wonderful. I did not know how wonderful it would be. This pleases me.
HELLO THERE LITTLE MAN
ITS SNU SNU TIME
lion guy is my husband
I think we’re about to see that there’s no jealousy, like demonic jealousy.
White Chain, WATCH Cio.
Honestly Allison, just get a new boyfriend. Or girlfriend, even.
This douche is worth fighting exactly zero demigods for, so you’re already at least two over at this point.
Oh for the love of…
She’s not with him anymore. She doesn’t want to be with him anymore. She’s looking to save him cause she can’t live with the idea of leaving another human being in this hellhole of a situation. It’s the principle not the personal. She has said this twice in the comic already. God I wish people would PAY ATTENTION.
To be fair, the pictures are VERY pretty.
They are very pretty pictures.
They are worthy of being looked upon obsessively, even.
They will not go unlooked.
Perhaps the plot will be, to some.
You and me both buddy.
Ah, shit. Not a fan of tournament arcs

Gog-Agog will “fix” the fights by stealing the bodies of all the other combatants.
Das not creepy at all.
TOURNAMENT ARC!!!!!!!!!
*honks intensily *
I dunno theres an awful lack of toolboxes being applied to skulls in gogagog’s plan
and that’s half the battle
I look forward to witnessing the most glorious webcomic tournament arc since Achewood’s Great Outdoor Fight. Godspeed, Abbadon.
Ooh, tournament arc. This will be fun.
I imagine Maya and her gang of wandering idiots will be showing up.
That’s a nice group shot on top: my headcanon for the grey-bearded chap next to the lizard man is that he’s a master of deadly yodeling.
I so want Allison to brush of Gog because she doesn’t need to save what’s his name immediately. If he dies, she will kill whoever killed him, but he was just a fling that got sucked in here too.

I’m sure Buff Allison Who Has Power of God cares about her one-night stand dude and even remembers his name at this point.
Maybe, maybe, wait for it, Allison really is still a little girl inside and she loves the random guy she decided to lose her pesk virginity with in a planned way long time ago?
