Consider Afaistos, my lovelies, the broken shadow of Koss. Maimed and shackled, mocked and hated, his forge and its fires the only thing in his life that showed him warmth.
Consider, my lovelies, what will happen on the day Afaistos learns to build himself new legs.
Gotta love Incubus’ smugness here. When Jagganoth dissed him he flipped out, where now he just smirks and fires back. He’s just bursting to gloat at how he’s already arranged their deaths.
I wonder if Incubus’ has anything on Jadis in terms of showing up just to gloat about all their impending deaths. Jadis doesn’t even have to be present to witness it, she’s already seen it.
Incubus is insulted several times and doesn’t get angry. He must think he holds all the cards now that he is allied with Jaggernoth and training Alison.
Alternatively, this is simply his game face for when dealing with the council of demiurges; act cool and unaffected by the insults in public, let your rage out in private and when talking to the one demiurge who wouldn’t give a toss either way.
Alternatively to that alternative: The face he showed Jaggernoth was as much a mask as this one. After all, even if they’re kind-of allied, they’re not exactly friends.
The secret is revealed: Jadis is literally chilling in a Gelatinous Cube. Being a Demiurge, she heals faster than it could ever dissolve her with acid.
Poor Gog-agog the ever splattered. Interesting which ones come armed openly (or bearing arms openly like Solomon) and accompanied by servants, while Gog brings a party and Jadis sits there like a target hoping to get shot at.
Also: fuck you google I’m not a goddamn robot, eat shit I just use mousekeys instead of a regular mouse, goddammit.
Why the anger towards Robots, brother Max? Are they not merely beings in whom personhood has been placed. It is clear to me that you are in fact secretly a robot, and this is your vain attempt at disguising it in plain sight. Yes?
Own your robocity brother, and abandon the semblance of free will.
Of course, none of them are harmless. Anyone here can probably kill a mortal instantly without any effort. The ones that aren’t armed are no less dangerous for it.
Look at it the other way – you might be the first one to pass the reverse Turing’s test!
Personally I see it as an act of extreme lack of tolerance. Let’s say I AM a robot. So what, they dare to block me out of the comment section? Preposterous!
I like to think of the Worm as Harley Quinn somehow fused with the joker, attaining godhood and an utter disregard for the multiverse at large and consequences of any kind.
That description of Gog-Agog is both accurate and terrifying. Imagining the Joker with the powers of godhood is something that does not bear further contemplation.
Masked Mannerism does not fully comprehend the level of contempt and violent ownership that being murdered with a phallus communicates. Masked Mannerism sees Jagganoth’s hatred and mistakes it for whimsy.
Comprehending the complete tragedy of malevolent reality is a job for my alter-ego. A mask with double entendre colored glasses allows me to cut reality into a manageable, even pleasant, pieces for a while.
Slapstick comedy is only effective when you are far enough away that you cannot see the pain on their faces.
You forget the simple thing that he is big goddamn totally invulnarable badass. See that golden nails in his flesh, forged from angels feathers? Those are not just cool piercing.
Ever tried frying throne monkey liver without a shirt on?
odds are you’re getting burned with oil, imagine forging a sword without at least an apron on, you are getting some second degree burns at the very least.
Solomon’s fire also has a tinge of white in it. That might be because the keys are descended, if you will, from Zoss’ Key. Or maybe it’s just artistic.
Also, Incubus is apparently a pretender to being a Demiurge. While he may bear the word Flame, the others don’t acknowledge him. Maybe that’s why he speaks in black.
I mourn for the time of peace. The time when wealth and I were as lifelong friends, when gold hot as starlight flowed through my every tissue, when I needed not even the basest faculties of my own mind to live a life more luxurious than that of a lesser noble. A time when the name of Mammon was feared and His coin respected.
That is a dead time, as dead as YISUN, whose flesh comprises all time. We live now in a sword age, a bullet age, a fire age. Come is the time of Jagganoth.
False though his godhood may be, the Red One may well claim lordship over all, and those who survive shall worship him.
I really want to know what Gog-Agog’s deal is. Also, the way her words are stretched out, I get the feeling Jadis speaks with a pre-echo like Dormun from Shadow of the Colossus.
Gog-Agog is a pile of worms that some how achieved godhood and sapience, though she isn’t especially bright, most likely both at the same time from the key of kings she wields. It’s been stated that because of her unusual nature she is very hard to deal with and would likely be the most powerful demiurge is not for whimsical nature. She is also apparently a celebrity in Throne.
That all makes me suspect Gog-Agog holds the word BEAST. I think back to the writer Otomo.
“Humans descended from apes, and apes from other mammals, and so on until we reach primordial ancestors like amoebas. Could you imagine if an amoeba attained the almighty powers of a human? It wouldn’t use them to build towers or split atoms; it would just devour food particles like no other microbe before or since.”
One probably shouldn’t expect great things when godhood lands on the brow of an animal.
Why do you say that? Just because he is large and muscular? Because he doesn’t speak much? He merely keeps his council to himself and doesn’t waste words or blather about his plans to his enemies, his fellow demiurges.
Fools run their mouths incessantly, the wise speak only when necessary. Fools also only take things a face value.
Indeed, and in a more meta example, the cupboard-goblin who weaves this tale mentioned that Jaggy was created specifically to subvert the “dumb brute” trope.
If you truly believe that, my splendid, most ignorant friend, you have a story to reread. Jagganoth is without a doubt the most intelligent and wicked of these belligerent children.
There are as many forms of legitimacy as standards that actions can be held to.
Consider if there be a greater source of legitimacy then the creator of the multiverse? If the multiverse was created according to divine design then it follows then that events within the multiverse are ordained as they are a product of the design.
If the world (or the systems which operate it) permit you to rule then your rule is divinely sanctioned until such a time the world no longer permits you to rule e.g You are dethroned by a successful coup.
I think they look down on him because all the other Demiurges won their keys by some sort of accomplishment but he got his key because the previous owner gave up being a Demiurge and willingly relinquished the key. So he basically won his key due to forfeit and all the others did something to earn theirs.
So far, what are the words that the each one of the Seven carry?
I remember Diamond from Salamin David, Tower from Grampa…Flame from Incubus..Glory from Mottom … mmm I’m missing a couple
The ones we know of a surety are as follows: Mottom, Bearer of Glory, Incubus, Bearer of Flame, Mammon, Bearer of Tower, Solomon David, Bearer of Diamond. I believe the teller of this story has just named Jagganoth the Bearer of Blade. A worthy name for such a titan of iron and fire.
The words Mind and Beast are borne by remainder of the Seven. If I could guess at which is which, Jadis likely bears the word Mind, and to Gog-Agog, the word Beast. Feel free to correct me if I am mistaken.
Can we all bask in Grandpa Mammon calling Zoss- the Conquering and Ruling King, slayer of the Prime Angels, Forger of the Magus Keys, First Demiurge… an “Old Rapscallion” ?
I knew it… Jagannoth must be the bearer of the word BLADE. Figuring him as the BEAST always felt too superficial. But the Blade as a Breaker of Infinites… he possesses the intention and means to break creation itself. Even a Beast has its limits; a beast can’t hunt if they consume their world.
It is not cutting but healing that is required. The schism between oneself and the multiverse is a lie and can be repaired. Introspection then reveals as much of reality as one can handle. But beware of being burned as Aesma was.
The die is cast. The game begins. And we are all but pieces and pawns before the players. The Successor, and the Seven-Headed Serpent. Who shall rise, and who shall fall?
“the boy”? No wonder Incubus has a massive inferiority complex when it comes to the other demiurges, they’re certainly not making it particularly difficult.
Well, it was safe to think Jagganoth would bear the word BLADE, while Gog-agog possibly wields BEAST. As for Jadis… remind me of the seventh word, anyone?
Believed to be MIND, if non-canonical sources (Abaddon’s tumblr, IIRC) are to be believed. But since all that YISUN said was a lie, and in the saying became reality, who is to say what should be believed? Does belief make a thing true? Is it just an abnegation of its actual nature as lie?
Far better to just cut the throats of a few serfs and bathe in their lifeblood than to tax one’s thoughts with such complex philosophic musings.
The Black Duke is observant. Certainly, what we regard as the seven words that compose Royalty are nothing but crude translations, oversimplified aspects of the greatness True Royalty has attained.
I am afraid i am quite the unwise man. Seeking understanding of a world’s workings is the most acute symptom of my folly.
Thank you by your accute response
Apparently there are not enough peaches in the multiverse to make her pretty again.
Throwing fresh fruit atop a composting heap does little but feed the rot in the long run
Great analogy
She *was* just playing fireball-tennis a moment ago.
Consider Afaistos, my lovelies, the broken shadow of Koss. Maimed and shackled, mocked and hated, his forge and its fires the only thing in his life that showed him warmth.

This reminds me of my family reunions. Even down to the weird aunt stuck inside a block.
She seems to have had an unfortunate encounter with a gelatinous cube!
The secret is revealed: Jadis is literally chilling in a Gelatinous Cube. Being a Demiurge, she heals faster than it could ever dissolve her with acid.
Why did she do this? THAT is the real question.
You are saying that you have every right to speak here as one of us despite the insults Gog-a-Google may throw at you?
The gate keeper has determined that you are not riff-raff. We welcome your wisdom in this place.
Why the anger towards Robots, brother Max? Are they not merely beings in whom personhood has been placed. It is clear to me that you are in fact secretly a robot, and this is your vain attempt at disguising it in plain sight. Yes?

Was not expecting Gog-Agog to be adorable, but here we are.
Emperor Joker was a thing.
I was thinking Kefka, from FF3/6. Never bothered to pick up the emperor title, but ascended as god of magic.
Incubus has decided to follow the sanction action of cutting finally.
In abandoning his former self, he will now cut down his enemies even if he is destroyed.
For royalty, fate is not a cage but a sword.
Is he… naked.
Man that guy must have some balls to forge a sword naked
What do you think the sword is forged from?
Knowing Pankrator Jagganoth, iron culled from the blood of a hundred thousand worlds.
But the sword as a phallic symbol is just too much fun to pass up!
The circle and line as a symbol of power? It is the union of opposites and all that implies.
Poor Jaggy has fallen into the young man’s trap of thinking he needs a big sword to be potent.
Ah, “the sword not held” d:
You forget the simple thing that he is big goddamn totally invulnarable badass. See that golden nails in his flesh, forged from angels feathers? Those are not just cool piercing.
You try and work in that heat with all your clothes on.
Ever tried frying throne monkey liver without a shirt on?
odds are you’re getting burned with oil, imagine forging a sword without at least an apron on, you are getting some second degree burns at the very least.
I am worried by tho color of incubus speech and his command of white fire. I fear he is absorbing more from Allison than she is aware of.
Your kind ramblings have encouraged me. I need not dwell on negative possible futures when there are so many to choose from.
incubus has been talking in plain black for the entire comic and mammon is full of white fire just for the last few panels
don’t worry too much about our rising king, i’m pretty sure her threat of “if you fuck me over i’ll kill you myself” wasn’t even slightly empty
Yeah, like her body
We decreed Solomon bearer of the word SWOLE… it seems we were all of us deceived.
Solomon can keep his title, I serve the one who has become most CUT!
For a time, there has been peace…
But now, there is JAGGANOTH
That one red eye of his makes him look like the Terminator.
I mourn for the time of peace. The time when wealth and I were as lifelong friends, when gold hot as starlight flowed through my every tissue, when I needed not even the basest faculties of my own mind to live a life more luxurious than that of a lesser noble. If my brethren were of this nature, I too would be driven to theocide.
Anyone else thinking about… the schlong? Characteristics thereof?

The Anvil Rings!
The World Fears!
Salvation Nears!

This must be THE best commentary section in the whole Internet
The self referential flattery lifts us all. Thus are all things circular and even the lowliest of creatures may comprehend the hidden name of god.
It is the nature of true celebrity. She did not seek it and so achieved it easily.
The secret to her success lies in the very word whimsical: Whim. Where she wills she roams.
She naturally manifests Want unfettered by reason. The effortless royalty of a toddling child is hers.
Oh, I expect BEAST to be her word as well. Other guesses – BLADE for Jadis and MIND for Jagganoth. These seem to be the most appropriate.
MIND for Jagganoth? BODY seems more appropriate, he seems to be the least mind-oriented of these seven goof-balls…

If you truly believe that, my splendid, most ignorant friend, you have a story to reread. Jagganoth is without a doubt the most intelligent and wicked of these belligerent children.
All thrones are usurped. They all won their crowns of heavenfire by means of bloody conflict. “Legitimate kings of the multiverse” my ass.
Conquest is the ultimate source of legitimacy. Is it not said that the best way to reach Heaven is through violence?
There are as many forms of legitimacy as standards that actions can be held to.
Consider if there be a greater source of legitimacy then the creator of the multiverse? If the multiverse was created according to divine design then it follows then that events within the multiverse are ordained as they are a product of the design.

Can we all bask in Grandpa Mammon calling Zoss- the Conquering and Ruling King, slayer of the Prime Angels, Forger of the Magus Keys, First Demiurge… an “Old Rapscallion” ?
He’s an adorable old man.
And hey! It’s all of them together at once for once. Aside from Jagganoth.
I like the lil’ hype men Jagganoth has.
…waaaaaait just a hot second there
Is Gog-Agog’s clothing ALSO made of worms!?
Nooooo, no no no fuck that shit
Her clothing is made out of her.
Granted, I see a certain appeal in that.
That means she’s actually naked all the time.
Town of old and shrivelled women
Flies and stretching television
Focus or your eyes go swimming
“She was wrinkled and crinkled and shriveled and sore,
She sat in the corner and shriveled some more.”

Vote for Mind. Blade seems more appropriate for Jadis, for you must be one hell of a cutter to behold the true shape of Universe.
It is not cutting but healing that is required. The schism between oneself and the multiverse is a lie and can be repaired. Introspection then reveals as much of reality as one can handle. But beware of being burned as Aesma was.
