Here’s another thing I don’t get (yep, lots of them). A demiurge is a creator, but all the demiurges we hear about here are destroyers and create NOTHING. Assuming they’re adrift because there’s no supreme creator any more to keep them corralled and in line, are they just misguided or are they actually evil / anti-life? This guy doesn’t seem truly evil, just detached from everyone else (as in schizophrenic).
Consider, destroying something is merely changing it into something else and building something destroys the materials used to make it. The Demiurges created their kingdoms from the ruins of those who had the misfortune to stand in the way of their ambition.
You mean Incubus is schizophrenic or you mean the Yemmod guy? Considering that this is during the great universial war, not surprising that they’d be destroyers, though they’re also creators in their own ways.
Also, none of them are truly evil (which is also subjective), but they ARE all messed up psychologically in various ways (though Mammon is mostly old and senile at this point). Solomon David seems like the sanest of the bunch, but he’s going to have his own issues as well
Gog-Agog: We haven’t seen enough of her realm, though rumor has it things are a complete mess due to her lack of organization. It is said she controls “Entertainment” on Throne.
Jadis: Immobilized in her glass pillar…still reeling from her vision of the Universe.
Incubus: Holding territory, plotting, intriguing. No evidence of creative efforts.
Mammon: Holding territory. Now mobilizing armies.
No evidence of creative efforts beyond banking, and railways.
Mottom: Holding territory. Her armies pillage her section of the universes. Now mobilizing armies. No evidence of creative efforts – except perhaps in finding a way to renew her own life. ( Yet to be revealed. )
Solomon David: Holding territory. Of the tyrant demiurges, I view Solomon David as the most apparently benevolent. He has taken steps to protect his worlds by creating an elite army. He created and placed two suns in the sky to replace one destroyed during the Universal War. He is proud of the civilization he has helped to flourish under his care.
Jagganoth: Holding territory. Word has it he’s creating vast stocks of weapons, armaments, and preparing for the day when he’ll be able to unleash the FINAL CONFLICT – a final Universal war. The paradox is that this demiurge IS being creative, yet he’s turned his creativity to destructive ends. Jagganoth might well be called a god of war – as he apparently longs for it, lusts for it, dreams of it, and is working day and night to ensure the coming of an ultimate conflagration.
* Are the demiurges evil ? They maintain their power over the divided universe and multitudes of planets through vast armies, and have slaughtered hordes of opponents to achieve their current state of near ultimate power. So even the most benevolent has the blood of perhaps millions on their hands. They rule by force, and enforce their rule by means of their personal powers.
Until very recently the demiurges felt secure enough in their pact to turn their attentions their own particular obsessions – without concern for an absent Creator, a vanished Conquering King, or for Throne. Though Mottom, Mammon and Solomon David have expressed feelings of being trapped and/or weary of their situation, they remain selfish, self-absorbed, and stagnant.
The caveat with Mammon though is that he is old and senile and delegated his authority to the high priestess at some point. We’ve heard from 00001’s words that she and the other followers of Mammon want nothing to do with the outside world. So, in Mammons case, there is simply no desire on the part of his followers outside of what’s needed to maintain the cult.
You underestimate how broken the seven are; out of four yet, one had a broken body, and another had a broken heart, the third has broken morals, and the fourth… I think carries great guilt, and tries to bear the weight I the world, and only Ysun can do that.
It wouldn’t be strange if this one turned out to be reckless at this point as most of his targets fall quickly.
Alison’s new bod is smokin hot. She’s practically on fire.
No really I’m sort of concerned for her well being, humans aren’t made for that kind of thing.
hello abaddon i just wanted to tell you that your art and comic means a great deal to me! it’s beautiful and i love the characters and all their relationships and growth and drives so much. i hope you are having a very good day and continue to have them.
It’s always such a joy to read articles created by actual professionals.
I am fed up with that no-name, ghostwritten articles. That’s the reason it was so
wonderful to look at a compelling piece. I see the writer
has ground knowledge it the subject in addition to some practical
experience. Such sort of information is more precious than copypasted blog posts thoughts.
This is a good post. This post gives truly quality information. Iām definitely going to look into it. Really very useful tips are provided here. Thank you so much. Keep up the good works.

The defining characteristic of a demiurge is not creation. It is blindness.
Good questions BJS, Let’s see….

Boo! The purple enemy doesn’t deserve a backstory! Lord Mammon’s holy backstory is better!
I doubt the Scaled God of the Deeps would agree, elsewise why would the High Caste wail and cut their flesh in sympathy for The Dragon?
Stormcrown, eh…?

ive started reading incubus with the voice of Hades from Disney’s Hercules and now i can’t stop
Like the crane, Yemmod bore a crown that could be plucked.
.CORRECTION_: Screet-yaw, street-yaw!
Incubus’ face in the “it’s only about winning panel” is so eerie and intense! I love it, Abbadon. š
Sixth panel, “She” should be “He”.

– You remind me of an old friend.
– What friend?
– A friend who was wrong.
– How wrong?
