King of Swords 2-16
” EMPTY PALMS
An internal, cold-atum style said to be as ancient as the gods themselves. It is said the god Ovis taught it to the first angels, who taught it to the first human, Metia. The style involves miraculous alignment of the body’s meridians to multiply the muscular power and striking force of bare handed strikes tenfold. Since the style relies heavily on the cultivation of internal force, its external strikes may seem unassuming to the untrained eye until they hit their target with the force of an ox cart.
It is said masters of this style can so precisely align the channels of power within their body that they can project the force of their blows at range, sometimes up to thirty or forty paces away. One old master of this style, who dwells in Fifteen Rivers, makes a great show to visitors of striking a heavy cast iron bell some 5 or 6 shins high with great blows from his fists, though he stands apart from the bell quite some distance.
A practitioner of this style must take tremendous pains to use it effectively. The style was originally developed for battling and destroying various titanic void monsters and unbound devils, and is rather difficult for humans to learn. A student must train rigorously, keep a strict diet, and maintain fine bodily control in order to effectively utilize its techniques. Therefore, it has always been an unpopular school, seen as somewhat old fashioned. None, however, deny the power of its techniques, which include YISUN’s Open Palm, widely regarded as an unbeatable move.”

I was gonna make a One Punch Man / Plus Ultra reference, but ya all beat me to it.
So I’m just going to celebrate by going YEET.
He doesn’t look so deceitful to me. Actually he looks quite honest, openly brandishing his knife and preparing for a bar brawl.
Unless she meant the ceiling. That looked deceitfully firm and solid, and probably could use some fair renovation to be straighten up.
Well, now it could…
So, is that striking at a distance bit more Sekiha Tenkyoken, Kamehameha, or Hadoken? it might not seem important, but it is incredibly important.
Based on what we saw of White Chain using the technique back on pages 1:1:16 and 1:4:64, I feel like none of these fit very well, at least in that they all imply a visible projectile. Empty Palm’s telegraphed strikes, in contrast, seem to create only a shockwave at most, unless I’m misreading.
holy shit Allison did you just murder a dude D:
I’m so proud of Alisons growth over the course of the comic so far
“You don’t know what my scars look like. You don’t know where I got them and you don’t know how deep they cut me.”

Alission went full All Might, lol.

Ring your head, and sell the ‘net
Discipline can slip and yet
deadlines must always be met
I rather suspect that the goal here is not to send a message, but rather to destroy.
Otherwise…
Well… “One just finger pierces the empty well.”
I’m just sayin, right? No need to have a fight any bigger than it has to be.
Marvelous. When entering the dens of black hearted brigands and craven criminals a show of force serves well to demonstrate to them exactly who should be afraid. She learns well.
I know I’ve seen that beer ad’s face before. Who is she?

How interesting. The Rising King May also cause others to rise. With prejudice.
God power keeps Allison’s pimp hand strong
I say nothing of the display of martial artistry as it interests me little, but I would like to buy a drink for whoever said “Nice” as they made me laugh.
anyone else notice how her hair has two stray locks at the front, which just happen to look like a pair of horns hmmm.
there is no such thing as overkill, only “harder, faster, better, stronger”.
[mumbling] So, Al Is Un, why you take easy against your target?
Deceitful? Doesn’t she know that mistrust is the tyranny of the individual?
This is sad.
She’s just being a violent thug.
At least when she fucked up in Yre it fit her character arc.
It’s not even badass. It’s like watching someone with a gun mow down helpless people.
Wtf are they even going to do against her?
Is this Pride? Is she reflecting the supposed(possible) vice of the people she’s going up against? With Mammon she did organize a gang and join up with a gang of robbers, but I did not really see her engage in that much Gluttony with Mottom. Aside from eating the peaches.
…stay good Alison. Find your way. Find it.
Fiiiiiiiiind it.
Why Allison?! Why would you do that to Honest Bob the bartender?! He never lied to no one!
Man, she squashed him like a… like a, um. Like a jello mold.
Annnnnd glorious divine overkill. Only thing I could hear for those last three panels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztuWicinDRo
Truly, the sound of heavenly authority. The Path of Kings preaches ruthless and forthright application of force, in order to establish precedent and Sovereignty, such that any pretenders may know their peril should they challenge the King’s claim. Such is the Order established and proved, and the Monarch’s rule legitimized.
White Chain has done their work well. An excellent opening move from the Rising King! However, I must restrain further judgment until I’ve seen how she handles the rest of the dogs in that den.
