A nice, healthy looking world?
With water and plant life and no clear overabundance of the undead?
I didn’t know such a place could exist in any of the 777,777.
Methinks friend Diem has spent altogether too much time on Throne. Plenty of worlds have sun and clean water and vibrant plant life, and even a marked deficiency in undead.
If for no other reason than because the Demiurges haven’t gotten around to conquering and despoiling them yet (or merely exact tribute from them, leaving the biomes themselves relatively intact).
And only now it occured to me how little actual sunlight and blue sky we got in the comic before.
By the way, reminds strongly of Incubus’s passing in the early chapters of Book 3. Yet I must admit, the Celestial Emperor has much more classic taste for proper architecture.
Is that the Circle of Strength ? Still under construction ?
Or is that part of the whole Circle of Strength thing, that building is to CONTAIN the energies that will be released when the challengers do battle against Solomon ? So as not to damage the rest of the realm. And it has not yet been fully rebuilt since the last time ?
I feel like it’s pretty telling that Solomon David’s place is the only place you would actually want to go on vacation to of all the outworlds we’ve seen so far. Which must mean that it’s the worst out of all the other location’s we’ve seen somehow.
These are beautiful, but I don’t understand the light source in the first frame. Are there two suns, one to both the right and left of the ceiling of that walkway? The light angles in from both sides, that’s just confusing my eyes.
Looks like a prison+labor camp. Probably the “the heavy blade of the law constantly grazing the tender skin of their necks” that was talked about before.

Loving the new aesthetics of Roman-esque cities. Each region has its own unique art style.

Oh, wait 😀 Does we have double sun in this world or something? Shadows on the first pannel strongly imply this.

An island city for those who fall foul of the Law?
It doesn’t look like a nice place to be by any means, though the rest of Solomon’s lands look pretty great.
OMG he’s even building his own babel tower and all. This guy REALLY is going out of his way to tempt fate, isn’t he???
To do otherwise would be to acknowledge a power and authority greater than himself.
And that just won’t do. Not for Solomon David.
Looks like, yeah.
Dude, why are you buliding the tower of Babel when you’re already a deity?
Cell oversees the construction of his arena.
Well done
Yes, it is odd that he doesn’t seem to have one.
Did not expect a renaissance style for the world, but I really like it
From two suns…
Interesting, that the King has set aside his crown…
another monument, I expected more of their number.
but this city seems quite… mundane.

So, what exactly are we looking at here?
A huge arena?
Stink clouds of burning slums?
The industrial area aka slave labor pit?
An attack of an outside force?
Looks like an even more colossal colosseum. And somehow I suspect it won’t be for poetry readings…
That sunlight is eye-searing in the best way possible. And I see construction of the coliseum continues apace.

Is that a tower being built, or a building being destroyed? I certainly hope it’s the latter.
My god man…. I always loved your illustrations, but i didnt know how beautiful they could become with a pallete swap. Loving the sunlight
Welcome to Illios,
One presumes that during each tourney the stadium gets destroyed, hence the rebuilding?
