I really enjoy how Abbadon has slowly brought the focus in on Cio and Alison over the last few pages by cutting out more and more of the background around them.
I am also excited to see the panel that brings everything back to the “present” to reveal Mammon awkwardly realize he’s been staring, and going back to The Count before anyone notices his voyeurism.
I think you might have missed some of the subtext in the original story
There’s a reason that Proto-Alice couldn’t find the courage to look up her own orientation in The Book, and it isn’t the one she claimed in her inner monologue.
Likewise, there’s a reason that the suggestion that she might be gay upsets her enough to generate nuclear deathray blasts.
