I have to imagine that one of the things that hurt the most right now for her is knowing that Cio’s claw marks are gone. That she’s been ‘fixed’, but left feeling less than in every way.
Jadis, maybe the strongest magic user alive in existence, cannot manifest herself outta nowhere at will… This is all happening inside the mind apparently… Who gets to decide which ones are her limits other than Jadis ?? (And Abaddon)
only once have i been in a situation like this, the care, the thougtfulness for the handicapped and the inspiring gazes.
all a mockery of the pain that is your broken body
No, the memory of some pains—physical or otherwise, will last an entire lifetime. It is not even certain that the release of death will free you of your pains.
i feel like many overstimate their own memory, some will say that memory last eternal but in the blend of colours, minutes hours and smells, can you still recall the pain when you fell off your bike?
The thing is: we know how Alison is going to look at the end and it aligns with the injuries she suffered from Jagganoth, so her healing here can’t be real. Also: Jadis is the demiurge of Sloth. I think this is an illusion/dream, and it’s either some sort of test, or an attempt to trap Alison in inaction.
Maybe Jadis makes people helpless so that she can keep saving them forever?
Zoss told Alison that her key responds to her will, and the stronger the will, the more power she can wield. Incubus also called Alison “the real deal” in front of Jagganoth (And she used the key to made a spear and kill a demon pretty early on).
Jadis is maybe working on convincing Alison that she is sick, weak, a loser, needing a very long healing topped with years and years of therapy, because Alison’s beliefs about herself will simply feed back through the power of her key and make Alison weak and thereby dependent on the help of Jadis.
Perhaps Jadis wants to stop or contain Alison because Jadis is Omiscient, she is always marking reality to her world-model, she fears that if Alison breaks or transcends her world-model then Jadis is not Omniscient anymore.
She prefers a the safety of a perfectly predicted doom and destruction to just not knowing what comes next.
Huh. That’s a new thought. That didn’t occur to me, but it’s logical. So far, we haven’t seen one Demiurge who didn’t want to use Allison for their own purposes. (Well, except Solomon David perhaps. And Mammon was too far out of it when she met him.)
Players begin by selecting from a range of colorful characters, each with distinct sounds like beats, melodies, and effects. The diversity in characters allows for endless combinations and creativity.

I know a couple of cats who could sympathise with that.

Funny. The state she’s in now, she’s not all that different from Jadis. Powerless to act.
Good, all Fossey,
Mist or foam comes frothy,
the bigger, the more bossy.
this looks nothing like the map of the throne we’re familiar with. inb4 her next question is “when are we?”
That’s what I thought, too. I guess the transmigration of immortal souls involves a bit of collateral damage.
Can’t wait for the smash cut the the Third Impact happening on Rayuba
She’s omniscient but she can’t fix a noisy wheelchair?
Unless those sound effects are the footsteps. That actually seems more likely
It’s not what she does.

at least all pains heal or stop hurting right?
“All pains heal or stop hurting?”

Have the title pages ever been a true reflection of the chapter endings? I could go back and look but I just can’t be arsed..

So good! A dead demiurge is the only one you can rely on
I don’t believe that she’s Omniscient, only Pleniscient, at most. That means there’s at least ONE thing she doesn’t know.
