It is as I suspected, truly it is a shame the red god’s armies will continue their bloody path regardless of if Alison has the will to continue on and even if she does want to fight again it will be a long and arduous training montage before she’s even a fraction of her former strength and even that may not be enough.
Abbadon said this was not a favorite trope, and, indeed, rather a LEAST favorite trope. it hurts to read it in the story but, damn am i here to trust. the only way out is through and by fuckin golly, i’m trudging.
Show us the way, Abbadon. I am following.
All for want of a worm. Or, perhaps, a few ill-thought words given to one.
From here the first step is finding a reason to want to win, a justification for the suffering you have endured and witness and given and that which is promised upon the dawn. Perhaps a few yet live, or live in death, because there is little enough else out there. Jagganoth is even a poor enough thing to hate seeing as he is a natural disaster occasionally clad in flesh, a mechanism ticking away and shaving off lives the way a clock’s pendulum shaves seconds.
If you can’t find a reason to stand then Jagganoth has proven his point beyond refute.
We need remember that Jadis is the Sloth analog of the demiurges. Likely this is played with a twist, as is Abaddon’s want, and her expression of sloth is more akin to apathy/fatalism. Perhaps she’s trying to get Alison to give it all up, and play with her in the last while before the sweet release of oblivion.
Listen, you can piece a mask together, and sure it won’t be her exactly the same way it wasn’t when Yabalchoath was remade as Cio, but the arc of her story was “We are who we choose to be” and she still felt Yabalchoath inside her, so if they bring her back???? even if its not exactly her, she’d still be in there as an influence, and if you have self determinism, they can choose to be good for all the same reasons she was.
Abaddon better be doing just that or my god I will never forgive his bones for killing my dear sweet favorite gay.
Cio is the first name on Allison’s lips, but what about white chain?
White chain turned into a human, and by that logic, is now also dead right?
Normally if angels have their ash bodies destroyed, they are either shunted into their plane or need to wait to re-materialize, right? But what if they have a flesh-and-bone body? What happened to nyave and princess jack moonshine for that matter? Have they been training and are they all jacked now?
Another possibility has occured to me: It’s not really BEEN three years yet, but since Jadis is omniscient, she’s using this mindscape to show Allison what will happen if they take the time to heal her properly.
Three years to heal that ? Seems waaaay too long for magic that can make matter in seconds , as shown previously. Expecially Key powered , technology augmented. We had on one occasion Cio taught Alison how to make quite edible plums just from raw magic. And plants are living tissue. Was shown to take around minute. Jadis is magic user , quite expert in fact , Key bearer , has acces to technology and experience of hundreds of years. Three years to regrow limb seem waay too long , given this resources.
I would say it all in some dream or simulation just based on that.
Jadis’ got huge boobs.
I mean some serious honkers.
A real set of badonkers.
Packin some dobonhonkeros.
Massive dohoonkabhankoloos.
Big ol’ tonhongerekoogers.
Bonkhonagahoogs.
Humongous hononoloughongous.
Okay, just had a horrible thought. Her name is Kill Six Billion Demons, and she “killed” Cio, and we already know time loops are a factor. So how many times will she have to lose her?
Some contrivance of plot will arrange for Chain’s reincarnation. Cio only needs her mask restored. Although it could be fun to see what her unbound devil form is like…
Womp womp
Three whole years. Waking up in a world of ruin with all your friends missing or dead will stretch even the hardiest warrior to their limits.
Bus to boredom, bus to nowhere
vacant looks (he’s not all there)
rotten teeth and flaming red hair

Wait, did the Jaggahog win in part, because of the War For Rayuba thing? It was his side, Pyre that ultimately won.
White chain, then. Has she survived these years?
The hunt for answers comes first.

So Incubus not only survived Aunty but apparently wasn’t simply sucked up by Jag… I notice she doesn’t mention Jag, only Jag’s forces, led by Incubus.
Interesting that she lists Solomon as “MISSING” rather than dead as Incubus believed.

Clone-Jadis is but one of many refractions of the one.
“Cio is dead”

Ah, the old “I am getting tired of my story so let’s shake up a lot of stuff off camera and wrap things up quick” plot devise.
Hey I’ve just realized…

She was a leader in the War for Rayuba game they did last year. I didn’t follow it and there’s no simple summary that I can find.
Another possibility has occured to me: It’s not really BEEN three years yet, but since Jadis is omniscient, she’s using this mindscape to show Allison what will happen if they take the time to heal her properly.
Hmm. That would line up with the cover art.

Cio’s mask was reforged once, maybe it’s possible to do it again? Of course you would need to find all the pieces first, so that’s a problem…
Also, the last time she was reforged she came back as a different person, so there’s no telling what might change if she’s brought back a second time

Hello there !

Okay, just had a horrible thought. Her name is Kill Six Billion Demons, and she “killed” Cio, and we already know time loops are a factor. So how many times will she have to lose her?
I understand the wickedness of Al-Yisun now.
She doesn’t think her Earth friendships are real.
Meh, Cio and Chain are both just in the void.
Some contrivance of plot will arrange for Chain’s reincarnation. Cio only needs her mask restored. Although it could be fun to see what her unbound devil form is like…
Not going to lie in Allison’s position I would be wishing Maya had failed to block that strike…
