Mouthbreathing ingrates: “Fuck you Solomen! You’re just a useless human, you can’t even stop a single reality-sundering calamity!”
Davo: “And I took that personally…”
And there everyone was salivating over this guy beating up the innocents around him like weirdos so they could hate him some more. Fellas, that would be called “bad writing.”
We know what drives this man, and it’s not the slaughter of innocents. It’s the protection of his people, to a fault.
His city broken, his people decimated and crying out with fear. A man who now has to put everything on the line to keep his eternal promise. To restore peace and order or die trying.
Lo, look there be a great light in the sky,
The Wise say it is a foretelling of
Many changes in many things,
It signals too – the death of kings,
Yes, -there was a battle
Invaders met Defenders
Locked and Fought,
There upon the dell,
One king rose, and one king fell.
Pierced by spear or kissed by axe,
felled by sword, or mace attack.
In the swirling bloody scrum,
Death, dire doom had come.
Sound the horn, and beat the drum,
Dip the Flags, and pass the meads.
Call the Skalds and the Tapestry weavers,
Call the stone-masons and the Rune carvers,
We’ll tell the tales of their deeds and delights,
Speak of their wickedness, flaws and blights.
Tell of what was good, noble and grand,
As we build a pyre of piled brands,
Lay the body in the ship,
cast it out onto the waters,
set a fire in their flesh,
spirit cast onto star-sky ways
We chose not to forget,
the good, the ill,
we selected the stone,
placed it upon the hill
Your story is told now by the sages,
Set in runes, it will last the ages.
Traveller wandering through tall waving reeds,
Here you may learn of the Deeds,
Of one of those we called – ‘the Great’
Here you may learn of their fate,
Here you may learn of their Song,
before you go wandering on.
One can only fathom how many hours were lost/gained from the force of Solomon’s leap. Hard to tell in which direction the sun sets when everything is on fire. Also, it probably best to just write off that city as permanently lost.
I hear that after all these long centuries the Great Librarians shall cease their harvesting of commentary lore, and all the small stories which collect like fruit on the branches of Nadia Om’s Tree of Life, which gleam like every coin in the Tower’s treasury, shall pass from a living record into archives of a thing that lived. And so I leave the mark of my shadow.
I too have collected them: tales which have been wriggling things like the manifold segments of the Beast. My quest has taken me through the dark corners of Solomon David’s empire in search of the mere rumor of a thought, through more than one war of the Wheel-Turning King in pursuit of the spells of the queen who saw the shape of the wheel, or memories of those touched by the god-king whom doles out shards of himself for the thrill of corruption. And so I leave the mark of my shadow.
If you’re fighting to win, fight your hardest from the beginning.
If you’re fighting to survive, fight your cruelest from the very beginning.
If you’re fighting to protect someone else, fight like your enemy already murdered them from the beginning.
Ahhh man I’m sorry the comment section has caused you stress!
Just wanted to inarticulately express how much I’ve enjoyed reading this over the years, your creativity is like a delicious feast. I love going back to the pages where there’s loads and loads of characters and just admiring every design one by one. And the emotional journeys of the cast have been fascinating, so many layers unfolding. White Chain’s in particular is just aaaaaa <3333
And I love the lore writings underneath each page, and the world-building… look I love all of it ok
Side note: this whole scene has been absolutely terrifying, and I love that too. I am fucking horrified but also having a hell of good time reading this
Or maybe those ziggurats mean it’s Jadis’ realm? Her abode on Throne was a temple-ziggurat, and we still haven’t seen much of her. Of all the Demiurges she’s the one we’ve seen the least of so far.
BTW, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the next episode focused on our heroes who’re left behind on Rayuba.
Panel 12 shows that a 10 finger technique may not be the ultimate in Ki Rata. With four pairs of arms Solomon is ready to unleash a 40 finger technique.
You have to love how Abbadon spends days labouring over the next installment* of this majestic epic, and all anyone wants to comment about is Jaggy’s dick.
“Skidaddle skidoodle, your dick is now a noodle.” – Solomon David
Ah, the lost arte of Nutrata, truly a powerful one.

There is some fight left in old Solomon yet, it seems.
Also is that supposed to spell Forbidden? And tactically placed energy blast, nice.

Judging by this place’s colour scheme… could it be Gog-Agog’s domain?

Heh I imagine their current focus will be “Let’s run like hell while he is distracted!”
Right in the hog
scrambled eggs, everybody!
Love this comic Abadon! R.I.P comments though, sad to see them go.

Are those really extra arms? I thought he was just moving so incredibly fast. We’ve seen him do that before, and he wasn’t even on fire then.
