She seemed, based on the following chapter, to at least be genuinely attempting to help Allison (for all Jadis’s view on what constitutes “helping”- given her views on existence, are, as many have debated, not in line with Allison’s- is… not perfect); is she just so removed from human interaction that she had to more-or-less go “OK… make a pleasant, innocuous facial expression… it’ll be fine… yes! That’s it! Now to appear from the ground”?
