Like, wow, if you turn a wheel on its side it sure does become a line, which is a tower, which is also ‘I’. That was all it took to break Jadis?
Like, yeah, reality is a lie being made up by an incomprehensible godhead and would snap out of existence if it ever truly become aware. And sure, the only way to continue to exist with that knowledge is by accepting one’s own un-reality but asserting one’s individual existence and identity despite it, thereby becoming omnipotent and Breaking the Wheel by simply realizing that there never was a Wheel to begin with. But going bonkers and trapping yourself in glass seems like a bit of an overreaction and ultimately a rejection of the truth (as much as there is such thing as truth) of the matter.
Now, if it involved actually experiencing everything at once from all possible and impossible perspectives with every possible sense, I could see it maybe being a bit too much information to handle, but I kind of suspect that Jadis simply failed or else stopped at the very edge of True Revelation out of fear.
Consider it as a metaphor constructed from the meta context of how this panel is structured. Alison is witnessing something beyond the scope of the comic. Something that now hangs (and therefore has always hung) behind every page on this website, which contained previously naught but a void.
It’s an experience that’s extremely hard for us to grasp, and thus I think Abbadon was clever to break the fourth wall a little, as he’s done here. The scope of Allison’s world has been forcibly expanded beyond what her reality can contain.
Try to imagine “seeing something bigger then the comic” in our reality. No amount of trippy Dr. Strange special effects can capture what it would be like.
“For I dipt in to the future, far as human eye could see;
Saw the vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be.”
“Locksley Hall” by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
In this moment, Allison will learn that she is the Most Important Person in the Universe.
Because upon receiving her Key, she did not leave her room through the door.
Hopefully there will be some cake for her to enjoy after this experience.
I saw the end of time
I saw the world burning
I saw the paradigm of what we have made
I want to realign my broken bones and repeat
I lay paralyzed while you look away
This looks really similar to how was the Moebius-dimension described in Brian Lumley’s “Necroscope” series. In the space outside time, the lines represent lives/timelines of living beings with different colors for different species.
Ahhhh Abbadon, you mad, esoteric genius . I love it. All of it. Beautiful way to express the vastness of everything by having a spread that LITERALLY cannot be contained on a page. Just glorious…
I just started reading this comic a few days ago and as I went along this background seemed extreme and distracting, but I just glossed over it and eventually it faded out of my mind.
Coming to this page after reading so many and having it re-contextualized adds a good bit of weight to it. Well done.
A heap of broken images, where the sun beats,
And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief,
And the dry stone no sound of water. Only
There is shadow under this red rock,
(Come in under the shadow of this red rock),
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

Ah yes, a normal sunday morning coming down. Must be her first time. Eh, the first time is always the hardest, make enough turns on the well and it gets a bit boring to be honest…last time I brought a bag of ferrets to liven it up.
That’s just the event horizon…
So Jadis, why did no one else from the project survive?
Did they fail to return from the experience?
Were they destroyed?
Were they consumed somehow?
Honestly? I was expecting a bit more.

I can see the shape of the universe! It’s a book! It has pictures!

Didn’t know what I was looking at until I switched from mobile to desktop. God, I had no idea what I was missing
Me too! Really could use a disclaimer…
I saw the end of time
I saw the world burning
I saw the paradigm of what we have made

From the Upanishads
TWENTY-SECOND KHANDA.
1. ‘When one obtains bliss (in oneself), then one performs duties.
One who does not obtain bliss, does not perform duties.
Only he who obtains bliss, performs duties.
This bliss, however, we must desire to understand.’
‘Sir, I desire to understand it.’
***************************************************************
From the Upanishads
TWENTY-THIRD KHANDA.
1. ‘The Infinite (bhûman) is bliss.
There is no bliss in anything finite.
Infinity only is bliss.
This Infinity, however, we must desire to understand.’
‘Sir, I desire to understand it.’
***************************************************************
From the Upanishads
TWENTY-FOURTH KHANDA.
1. ‘Where one sees nothing else, hears nothing else, understands nothing else, that is the Infinite.
Where one sees something else, hears something else, understands something else, that is the finite.
The Infinite is immortal, the finite is mortal.’
‘Sir, in what does the Infinite rest?’
‘In its own greatness–or not even in greatness.’
Ooh! Very neat! Where is this from?
All lines proceed onward towards infinity, save one.
IT.
CUTS.
I

How do you tell if someone’s lying?
This is the moment when Alison reaches true enlightenment…when she sees the Shape of the World.
Alison is now a Flat Earther!

This is NOT breakfast, Jadis. We were promised breakfast.

As stated before: this abstract solution is EPIC. On a scale of whatever numbers, it’s peaking peak at peak.
(Also, did read the last 3 page again, to get the atmosphere and I got the feels. So – epic.)
A heap of broken images, where the sun beats,
And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief,

Eternity saw I
I did not see Eternity
I saw Myself
I am Eternity.
ALL LIGHT, EVERYWHERE, ALL AT ONCE.

it’s ladybits! i knew it

Hypothetically, if one wanted to use the True Shape Of Reality as their background, how might one obtain it from this page?
I see.
The wheel is circular death, its spokes my linear perceptions. On its side, it is the tower, the name of god, the name of all, the name of I.
