Hot white flame, hot black flame and human (x2?) in a single form. If White Chain’s human form somehow counts as the lesser version of the white flame as well, then they cover all four. If not, they need a servitor in there too.
I don’t think so, the goblins in this story don’t really have humanoid facial features like Jagganoth does. They’re more, uh… Nasal.
I think Jagganoth just ended up becoming a very large fellow upon reaching godhood, like Mammon.
Jaggannoth is/was human. His real name is Yaun Ten Jantris; he used to be a child soldier in the Universal War and became a demigod simply by surviving, kind of like Guts from Berserk. This was foreshadowed in the text box lore like a book and a half ago.
Technically they’d still be missing the “effervescent heat of the Flame Immortal” which makes up the souls of animals. Buf I’m not sure there’s a solution to that one. Also it seems a tad late to introduce a fourth girlfriend, given it’s the last book and all.
* The horns of Cio’s mask flaring back like White Chain’s (prior) helm
* Her earrings having 3 triangles each, and having a 3rd bangle of triangles on the horn
* The three dots on her forehead around the key
* The three angel eyes on her chest
* She has Yabalchoath’s cloven hooves
* The horizontal-pupil eyes could be influenced by either Cio or White Chain, as they’ve both shown them before.
Given there’s absolutely no Cio-blue at all, I half-wonder if Cio is going to end up an Ebon devil again when this form ends. I wonder if exposure to White Chain will give her the discipline she needs to be a form of Yabalchoath that isn’t completely chaotic.
I’ve had a theory for a while that the Ebon devils become Ebon via practice of discipline, which is a trait of Un and balances the chaos they come from, and the Prime angels are Prime because they can tap into Yis-like chaos and change.
I suspect that Cio will become/return to an Ebon in a Dramatic Moment involving the Demon King, lest ye already forgot about them.
Or Cio will become something greater still, with her connections and Empathy
The way he’s chained up and bound and his interest in contracts informs my idea that the most powerful devils borrow from order to constrain the chaos and that’s why they’re more powerful.
Honestly, Cio’s design has always had hints of her Ebon past.
I suspect that we are seeing an aspect/side of devils we’ve never seen before here though. The mask of Aspected Chaos is white. We’ve never seen anything like that.
Three is truly an exalted number, in so many ways, not just a the minimal afternoon’s enjoyment, guest, self, tea. See if you can count how many centres has a triangle.
Cio briefly turned back into Yab during their bank heist and the impression that I got throughout that whole arc is that she’s being held back more by her own fears and the way she associates power with her former self. She could attain ebon status at any point, if she so desired, but she views Yab as someone she’ll turn into if given the slightest scrap of power, not a name for her own past that she’s already overcome.
It could be interesting if this fusion snaps her out of her self imposed stasis, but it seems like she genuinely wants to avoid conflict, so I can’t see her actually wanting that power, even if it was offered to her. As such, if she gains anything from this in the way of a new form, I suspect it will be based on a realization that she has power available if she ever needs it, but she can also spend her most of her time as a blue imp.
After staring at the last frame for a while, I find myself fascinated by the eyes. Allicio had two pairs of eyes, Cio’s above Allison’s. Now, there is only one set of eyes on this exquisite composite creature’s face, plus a smattering of angel eyes on her body. If anything holds the secret to what has taken place here, the eyes have it.
I would say they’re Yabalchoath’s eyes, except that in the fight last book with White Chain, White Chain also had horizontal pupils on a few of her eyes.
All I wanna do is see you turn into a giant woman
A giant woman
All I wanna be is someone who gets to see a giant woman
All I wanna do is help you turn into a giant woman
A giant woman
All I wanna be is someone who gets to see a giant woman
Oh I know it’ll be great and I just can’t wait
To see the person you are together
If you give it a chance you can do a huge dance
Because you are a giant woman
You might even like being together
And if you don’t it won’t be forever
But if it were me
I’d really wanna be a giant woman
A giant woman
All I wanna do is see you turn into a giant woman
I love how this form makes Alicio look clumsy by comparison. Aspected Chaos looks elegant and composed, visually depicting White Chain’s influence. Add the grey skin, which is obviously the white flame and black flame mixing…
PERFECT.
I thought the grey skin was callback to the stone shell most angels have. It seems the same color as White Chain’s previous housing, and full-body armor seems like a very good thing to have if they’re going to go punch Jag.
I agree with your thoughts on Allichaino’s skin color, it’s pure angel armor which will be sorely tested momentarily. But also the sudden reappearance of Yab’s hooves seems a sign of Cio’s surging power. Apparently all three have leveled up individually as well as collectively.
Alicio seemed to be about as enthused by the idea of tri-fusion as we have been since seeing the first fusion. And seeing the results all expectations were justified and met.
Alison really does work best when using Aesma’s “Fuck it, I’m don’t this and it’ll work because I haven’t been convinced otherwise” technique. Also when working with her besties.
Also, nice angel style name you made for yourself Abbadon.
Yeah, I noticed she had the same look of delight on her face as early in last book when she got a compliment out of White Chain. She’s just completely delighted that White Chain likes her.
I love the pale gray color contrast to the celestial purple. The triangular/triplicate themes. The combination of shape for Cio’s horns, White Chain’s helmet, and Allison’s halo. Feels very steeped in thought and deliberately crafted. The perspective is also very striking. We are really tightly placed in front/within the arms. You can see Cio’s elongated arm goes out of frame on the right and then her wrist/hand back into frame just next to the letters in the name. Solid rendering and pose.
Hail, Dea.
Magnificent.

eat your heart out, Sugar.
If Sugar is watching this, she’s cheering and squeeing.

On that last note, many have said it before, but throwing a goblin into the mix is always a good idea.
_Is_ he some kind of goblinoid? Jagganoth, I mean?
I don’t think so, the goblins in this story don’t really have humanoid facial features like Jagganoth does. They’re more, uh… Nasal.

you knew it was coming…
Three banger! Three banger! Threeeee bangerrrrr!!!!!
So wossup with all the mummy wrappings?
Dave looks a trifle surprised. And we haven’t even seen Incy and Maya yet. Things are bound to turn to shit in a huge way.
Reach Heaven through everything turning to shit (violently).
Why’d they get less buff?
Looks more elegant and graceful, and also, it might be “balancing out” with White Chain’s new significantly less buff new quasi-human form.
Shouldn’t it say “what you’re capable of”?
Details I like:

I also like how a salami was added for scale.
I suspect that Cio will become/return to an Ebon in a Dramatic Moment involving the Demon King, lest ye already forgot about them.

I haven’t forgotten about Himself.
The way he’s chained up and bound and his interest in contracts informs my idea that the most powerful devils borrow from order to constrain the chaos and that’s why they’re more powerful.
Softly spoken as I be,
I agree.
Order sets the chaos free.
Honestly, Cio’s design has always had hints of her Ebon past.
I suspect that we are seeing an aspect/side of devils we’ve never seen before here though. The mask of Aspected Chaos is white. We’ve never seen anything like that.
Who’s above the demiurges? Who’s above Michael?
Trinity.

She will become Ebon, or something beyond Ebon, but not as Yabalchoath. She will be Ciocie.
Her understanding, I think, is that she can be powerful and still desire peace rather than eternally claw for more.
The forbidden union of flames, matter and soul.
The All is one
The All Yis Un
The Allison
And God laughed, for he is a consummate liar.
In the distance a gong sounded.
::Bird screees in the distant sky::
Another neat fact.
The shape of the universe is the tower….I
ever notice what is in the center of each name?
All-I-son
C-I-O
Wh-I-te Chain
Things look different when turned sideways.
So I take it this one is called “Allison Chains”
I think the consensus is “Allicio in chains” or possibly al-chain-cio.
I see what you did there.
“For A More Perfect Union”
O’ that I had a power meter
which could describe the Might
of the Triune Being within my sight.
“These Un’s can channel energy !”
Oh my Yes – and How.
“Put me On,” She said,
Not knowing where this led.
Though we have no scale or line,
which can help us to Divine
how Potent the reach of this Aspected Fool,
“Unprecedented Me !” – so there’s no rule –
No Limits known to apply.
Achieving in a blink
the Impossible Union with a wink.
Balancing Consuming Fire,
and Preserving Flame
all within the same Towering Frame
Six Weaving grey arms and hands
to Strike, Summon or Shape.
Beneath the wraps – your body
manifests as Mother Night,
Purple aspect flecked with stars.
O’ Incarnate One just fledged,
First in history,
who knows where lies the Edge
to your Mystery.
Bravo!

god i fucking love this comic
Rad, time for a lesbian threesome to finally kill God. Super glad to see my people represented in art.
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusion!
Called it.
How effective they will be on the other hand… I can’t wait to see!

Also remember Juggernaut Star’s orangepeel skirt in the last book? Those ribbons don’t look too dissimilar.
