I’m just terribly worried about not finding my way home is all
anyone else wondering what would happen if White chain put on Cio’s mask?
It would be… interesting. The last time the Black and White Flames were united was before YISUN committed suicide.
And then after causing the birth of the multiplicity.
That’s certainly a concerning way to put it!
Well there’s two ways to look at it. Either the two flame compliment one another and… What? Godhood? The god’s except for Yis and Un were composed of both.
Or do the flames destroy? Will they eat one another and so leave nothing? Unless perfect trust is maintained I can see this happening, and despite Cio and White Chains progress, they are very fundementally different people who will grate.
And in the cosmogony of this universe of course, YISUNs big lesson about existence is that being the all pervasive epitome of all that is, isn’t and couldn’t is exactly the same as being nothing at all, sterile.
So you know. Who dang knows.

Can someone please explain the black forehead on Allison in frame 4?
It’s her face cast in shadow, presumably to express the sheer gravity behind her words.
Allicio < White Chain < Salami Dave < Jaggy. Going up against Jagganoth knowing full well what he can do is foolish, but if the Ya'at poem is anything to go by, there's no quicker way to achieve Royalty.
Well we know Allison ends up losing an eye right? Which means this next part won’t go well.
So who is gonna die?
Hrmm… Reckon Allison might convince Jagganoth to leave this Universe for another? Convince him to pull a Doctor Manhattan and go try his own hand at creation? Hrmm…

dear god, what a page to get caught up on. Maybe I should have waited until the comic was over.
Fret not, the comic updates regularly, seemingly once or twice a week even.
It is easy to go read something else for a while and come back, or just check back next week.
We may never know when it is done, only that it is ongoing.
What about that sword lady is she still around? did she die in the nuke?
Not likely. Both Maya and Inkyboy are missing in action for the moment, but their unfinished business with each other will be resolved in spectacular fashion, I’m sure.
Maya has been seen after the explosion, she seemed to want to enter the arena.

Regarding the speculation of Allicio & transformed White Chain fusion, while it’s certainly in the realm of possibilities (as is, well, I guess anything) it doesn’t seem like White Chain would even be remotely enamored of that idea, given her sort of aggravated eye-roll expression in the last panel as she observes Allicio return so seamlessly.
By the by, gotta love Cio’s lost waif expression in panel three. Life is tough for everyone, even someone who has been around the multiverse as much as she.
While we ponder the possibilities, one thing I’ve wondered is whether White Chain’s powers & abilities were transformed in any way, along with her appearance?
We haven’t seen her do any kind of fighting since her experience in the arena with Salami Dave (have we? I don’t think we have).
Just prior to her transformation she actually was able to move in the midst of Dave’s Ki-Rata space time, which when you think of it, was a feat of incredible strength and resolve. I mean, he was seconds away from totally obliterating her and instead she ended up as she is, which blew everyone’s minds, including Salami Dave’s and White Chain’s.
A good observation! If White Chain was still her old form, I’d support her entry into the fusion (perhaps as armour for Allicio), But now I think it would be a waste to have White Chain disappear before we’ve even seen the extent of her new form’s abilities.
After all, she might be stronger now. A renewed vigour, a joie de vivre previously undiscovered which fuels the fire to fight. A human with an angel’s age, wisdom and spirit sounds potent indeed.
Definitely stronger in mind, and certainly more at peace with herself, she has had her epiphany that rigid strength is not the be all and end all, and broken free from Koss’ chisel. And this same mind gave her a weaker body, and she still needs to learn what it is and is not capable of.
I think angels with wisdom are thin on the ground, only White Chain and old Ho There spring readily to mind; they may all be ancient, but they were created as police knowing right and wrong as it was hammered into them, not learned judges.
White Chain’s expression at Allicio’s re-fusion may tell us what she thinks of joining it.
Given Solomon is responsible for her new body, it’s entirely possible she can replicate the same moves as him.
Even if he was responsible, I don’t know why that would be, he never taught anyone else anything. But more importantly, I don’t think it’s true that he is.
I’ve always taken it as White Chain lying to the universe with such resolve and strength of mind that she brought into existence what she truly wanted to be, a human female, at the very moment her stone shell was destroyed. Like Cio teaching Allison to use her mind and the Red Arts to turn the air itself into a peach.
It’s perhaps possible the ‘drop of blood’ she drew, also at that very moment, had a bearing on what that human was like in some aspects. Or not, we can but speculate.
Wouldn’t know why ki-rata should be heritable either,White Chain had already figured out how to force herself into superslow ki-rata time anyway, to Salami’s surprise and pleasure. We do know some form of Krayu Mat is still possible, despite the current fleshy vessel.
Important question does Dave even like salami?
In panel 2, Cio is thinking of a life beyond the fight: she expects to survive. White chain, perhaps, does not.
YAY! It’s Allicio!
They say the first step is always the hardest but it the ones after that really matter.
What cannot be done in hot blood can be accomplished in cold resignation.

If we do indeed have the good fortune of beholding the spectacle of Human/Demon/Angel fusion, I think it would be worthy of a commemorative coffee drink: I present to you the Allichaino!

We have our task cut out for us, we know the drill, now it’s time to win one for the home team.
Cio: Did nothing when a demon tried to murder Allison during the heist of Yre, who would have perished then and there if not for Incubus. The clever little devil then slashed Allie’s face while trying to finish her off for good, leaving life-long hideous scars – The Audience loves Cio.
Zaid: Attempted to have sex during a consensual date with Allison while being pushy about it – Scorned until the wheel itself dissolves through the void by onlookers.
Curious indeed!
Nothing strange about it. Cio has grown, and so has Allison. In fact they have grown together in every sense of the word. At this very moment in the story, Allison is wearing Cio like a crown (OK, more like a helmet, but the point is the same).
Zaid has not grown in any way. Nobody hates Zaid, he’s just Allison’s consolation prize, like when someone doesn’t win the car and instead receives “the home version” of Let’s Make a Deal.
why is white chain so embarrassed about her new body?
It’s interesting. I’d hoped that she would be free of body modesty and not feel disempowered by male gaze. Then 10 VG wrapped her in a cloak and a hang-up.
Alternatively, she’s about to go into battle unsure of her fighting power or whether she’s still immortal. So feeling vulnerable for other reasons.
Or she’s just cold.
I’m not sure if “cold white flame” is literal or not, but if it is then she’s not just cold, she uh, *is* cold. And would presumably be used to that.
