Something about this update is so … Looking at all the cans, the ciggarettes, in any other context it would be tragic, watching someone abusing substances like that, a breakdown … but given what we saw before its honestly a relief, a vast improvement that she has enough of a body to mistreat this way is a sign of health and recovery compared to the awful skeletal condition she was wasting away as
I wholeheartedly agree. I know, Rising King and all that, but god, some days you just need to accept the breakfast. Or some months. Allison deserved a little break.
I have suspicions. The abrupt cut between Allison ruined, in a bed, stubbornly starving to death to her sitting, smoking, reading and sipping bourbon strongly suggests more deception from Jadis.
It’s a stark reminder of how many characters seem completely unfluctuacting and rigid in other narratives. Protags come and go, and the world is exactly the same, but here, it’s clear everyone is living their own adventures… growing and changing from them.

That stone gate she was sitting in… there are all kinds of cables or tubes going into it. I wonder what that means?
About her eyes: I think the grey shows her depression and her desire to just give up and stop fighting. The moment she was concerned about Zaid’s safety they became blue for a moment and she looked more her old self at that moment than ever since she woke up. Maybe Zaid can get her to reject Jadis’ lure?
I think she is being ‘milked’ for her power. She’s being tricked into lassitude so that she doesn’t feel like leaving, all so that she can have it sucked away by that vampire trapped in the crystal.
Think Ziad was picking up lessons from Solomon Daddyo?

I just realized that this is literally the reason she went back to Throne in the first place. Main quest complete; Zaid acquired.

Honestly I don’t. I just have this mental image of writers, which I know Allison is not, chain smoking and sipping bourbon.
There was a six month time skip between Allison finally choosing to eat, and Zaid infiltrating the place to find her.
