Chapter: 3
“Never trust a man who claims to know the path ahead. You will find his boots conspicuously clean of mud.”

Wait. Rhymes with bathe? Are you sure you don’t mean something like gave? Or rave, grave, knave or Dave?
Never trust a man with shoes, for what do you truly know of his feet?
It’s very thoughtful of you to include a pronunciation guide for Nyave’s name; it avoids the whole mess of everyone trying to figure out how to say it.
The thick threads of plot are starting to weave themselves into a discernible tapestry with increasing rapidity.
Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway.
Nyave is pronounced the same way knave would be. Curious.
I don’t really know what implication there would be in presuming everything she says is th exact lgoical opposite of the truth.
I like this plan.
The maidens are eaten. We all know this to be true.
Have you not tried the virgin diet? Their blood is good for your pores.
Only a fool would use virgin’s blood.
It is well-known that eating a fierce warrior’s heart gives you their might.
I really should start collecting all these quotes into a book or something, these are pretty motivating.
This fool just noitecd something, when the girl pictures Mottom she has the appearance of her younger self when she beautiful and had the appearance of being full of youth! Do you think most in creation don’t know of her true appearance that it could be hidden under a facade of illusion? Thou this fool wonders if she considers her hag form true for after all only she awaits her death by the heir thinking it a matter of time so why not consider this hideous form proper of a god that is falling from their pedestal.
Not necessarily. Mottom only visits any given universe briefly, and there are many universes to run through. 111,111 universes, in fact. It’s very likely Nyave imagines Mottom thusly because that’s how the Demiurge looked the last time she visited this world. That’s how Nyave’s people remember her, and preserve her image for posterity.
That Mottom remains in her castle and makes her subjects come to her doesn’t help with this misunderstanding. Few peasants have the honor/misfortune of meeting their Queen. It’s no mystery that knowledge of Mottom’s appearance is outdated.
make out!
When in doubt, mug the nearest sacrifi-er, I mean maiden you can find.
You’d be surprised how many times this has worked for me. 😐
Lucky are those who see opportunity and seize it. Unlucky ones lament that the universe is against them, when in fact it is merely their own fear.
Nyave Anyadis? Naive an’ ya dies? Seems legit.
As a great warrior once said: your clothes. Give them to me.
111,111 worlds? At one a day she’d take 304 years to visit them all (and I refuse to go into the issue whether each of these worlds has more than one habitable planet-sized place). When they say that the second conquest remains unfinished, I suspect the Seven haven’t gotten around to actually properly subjugating _most_ of the places they supposedly rule over – although no doubt they or their emissaries have stopped by for the occasional flying visit/raid/looting party on many more.
You’re all assuming the tributes will be eaten… but there’s all sorts of other ugly fates that might be awaiting them. Notably, we already know that those who trade upon the Path of Kings have a need for beasts of burden….
I’m glad I found this web site, I couldn’t find any knowledge on this matter prior to.Also operate a site and if you are ever interested in doing some visitor writing for me if possible feel free to let me know, im always look for people to check out my web site.
