Last panel is awesome. I love how the clouds and beam draw the eye to Jagganoth’s orb, making it the focal point of the image even as it’s drawn small to set of Metatron’s scale.

I do not think so. I think Zoss‘ choice of Alisson, hers and Jaganoth’s insubordination really made an intervention necessary in his eyes.
I tend to doubt it. Gog remembers each cycle (except the first couple), and Metatron appearing at the final battle seems like the sort of thing she’d remember.
I wish I could frame that last panel and hang it on my wall.
…I just realised. Alison hooked the worm into participating, and Gog immediately got lasered by the setting’s biggest fish leaping out of the void.

Tom’s ability to weave eastern and western cosmology without it ever feeling like a lecture has always been what sets this comic apart. Metatron’s whole arc here is a masterclass in theological worldbuilding. The panel pacing in 5-179 is patient in a way most webcomics don’t dare to be.
YET HE SPOKE TO YOUNG WHITE CHAIN, AND IT WAS ALL TRUE
