WHEEL SMASHING LORD 5-179 (METATRON ONE)
Chapter: 5
“Hark, said the master of masters, and attend me thus,
But the scribe was mute, and had nothing to say,
He had sworn himself to silence a long time ago,
Sworn to seal his mouth,
So that not even one ounce of love could depart his body.”
-Psalms
oh i’m sure this’ll be fine.
Is this a bad time to admit I was just lying earlier
Looks like everybody is coming to join the fun.
When can we expect Himself?
Or when Nukuko reveals her power.
“I have seen the naked terror of the coming of the Lord,
He is lasing down the wormmass of our longshot savior horde,
We’re well and truly boned unless AL-YIS-UN swings that Sword(?),
METATRON YET LIIIIIIVES”
*Applause*
Very nice
That is an interesting point. Many beings can wield the lightning. Alison’s 30 cubit spear is pretty cool but it isn’t *new*. It’s just the old power of the Demiurges, wielded through endless Kalpas.
But the Maybe Sword, the Sword that is not a Sword? That seems new. That isn’t power granted by a key of kings or by the names of god. That came entirely from Aunty Maya pursuing a true and complete understanding of the Sword. I wonder what it really does?
..Why now, all at once, though?
It feels like we’ve missed a page where the cast sits with what happened with Gog.
Gog was going to have a big damn heroes moment and M1 said *NO* with the voice of tectonic plates. This was gonna be Gog’s big fuck you to everyone, a chance to upstage every other being in creation at the biggest show in all possible worlds. Having the one being that could truly, effortlessly steal limelight blast through the veil at precisely this moment is the ultimate snub. She is, after all, ENVY. And oh how she will envy this entrance. For ten thousand kalpas she will dream of this and she will SEETHE.
I wondered when and how Metatron was going to enter all of this.
The plan to pass the key to the “true heir/successor” just went completely out the window with his death. I figured Metatron would be almost an after-battle talk and deal but nope! Fully in for the final battle.
…Consider that the “scribe of god” is bigger than even one of the largest carcases of the original gods.
That’s “scribe of God” with a capital G, different from the lower gods.
Yeh. The 777,777 Gods are each a story or a face of Yis Un. Whereas M1, presumably, sat at the feet of YisUn to record The Law.
oh well well well if it isn’t
an angel throng, bewinged, bedight
in veils, and drowned in tears
Oh that’s PERFECT! The idea that “the play is indeed the tragedy, Man” also perfectly lines up with how the accidental creation of humanity by Aesma led to the mass suicide of the gods.
Only proper response is to release HIMSELF!
Wow what a jerk, he RUINED Clown Time!
Metatron is Koss’s greatest experiment… and greatest failure.
And this is the guy that Zoss threw down and bound.
Really puts King Z on a whole other level, doesn’t it?
Nah, according to Jagganoth, Zoss just got *handed* the voices of God, and is in fact Metatron’s *slave.*
Himself’s own slave isn’t doing too well himself.
Oof I suppose Himself does have to return to the stage soon, too. That’ll be interesting. Especially given the apotheosis of Cio and White Chain in to new beings.
Because why is he called Himself? Well, presumably because there’s nothing else to call him. As any Name would be reference to something else. a comparison, an allusion, a metaphor. But there is nothing like Himself. There is just Himself.
That puts him in a very small class of beings that seemingly were Not Part of the Plan.
It seems to me that the godhead that produced a being such as Aesma did not sing of perfect and eternal stasis, where all beings were neatly placed among the four orders of inheritors and the wheel spun without so much as a wobble.
Holy
Shit
Well at least now that Metatron’s here we can conclude that shit is truly going down. Hoping Gog-Agog’s not dead, she could at least kill Jagganoth before she bites it, leaving Allison to tackle Metatron as the final boss
Gog is a seventh of the entire multiverse, this hit is like her trimming a fingernail.
Well.
edge exception divide by zero
the script has been broken
the scribe has some words
for those who aren’t playing
BE AFRAID!
I just realized, the halo’s shape is important. Look at Chakravartin Jagganoth’s two concentric halo rings, and now look at this page. Is this an intentional parallel?
I believe this is an important detail.
The halo appears when a person is exerting force of will on the multiverse, and seems to bear a reflection of the soul and the marks upon it. The demiurges tend to have a symbol of their Keys upon their halos. Meti’s halo had a shape reminiscent of a slash. At the time of her enlightenment in the Temple of the Eye Revealed, Alison’s halo bore shapes I’ve found associated with Black Yis and White Un, as well as a second ring.
Halos seem to be unique to and at least partially descriptive of the person they appear above. Nearly all halos have been fiery in appearance. Very few halos depicted have been unbroken, or lacking an ornamental feature. Fewer still have appeared with more than one ring. Yet, here above and below God’s Scribe, are four, smooth, unbroken rings with well defined edges. I feel this may be an aspect of Royalty I simply do not grasp, but I have wisdom enough to realize this is no trifling difference. Metatron 1 is well beyond my limited comprehension.
Even His wings appear to be forming an additional two rings accentuating the halos.
It is curious, however, the monochromatic depiction of Metatron 1’s halos. Closeness to YISUN is oft depicted with the full gamut of colors…
I have been following this comic for years and this is the first time I’ve felt compelled to comment because I am at a complete loss as to how, after so many moments that Go Very Hard, KSBD still manages to somehow broach new and awesome echelons of Going Very Hard.
Ofcourse, NOW the big bobber shows up!
His Loins are already Girded. Metatron 1 is already for battle. 4 Halos! Amazing.
And so the first among the angels comes to take the secret of royalty and YISUN back from the mortals.
hey guys, small favor, can someone remind me whose side he’s on?
His own. But he is the one who made Jagganoth the destroyer of everything, so go figure. Basically the True Final Boss, or something.
He also gave Zoss the keys to his power
We’re as stumped as you are berk. It’s not clear what this chap’s game is, or whether he’s ever spoken a word of truth to anyone. Something that old, that dense, that mean? Wheels within wheels is all I’ve got to say. Plus he’s full of birds and that never leads anywhere good.
Metatron lives! *Stomp stomp!*
Well at least it wasn’t Jagganoth breaking out of his black hole prison… but I’m not sure that would have been WORSE.
Anyway,
BEHOLD! THE POWER OF AN ANGEL!
Just reminded me of the Fallen Creator (Lord of Mysteries reference)
The One Closest To God Hath Arrived.
Shit Be Fucked, Yo.
