The sailors of my home world take warning at the sight of red eyes in the morning. They are unconcerned with skies of a similar color and time; of the two, the eyes are far more dangerous.
Yeah for now she’ll think the deal is good but as soon as something goes wrong she’ll blame her contractor. They always blame the contractor for the stupid decision they make and start scream to the entire wheel they were tricked when really their just being dumb.
Considering that the human mind is weak enough without assistance from the very fabric of reality… She probably did not want the deal; but, alas- such is her fate.
Anecdotally of course, I sold my fate to a peddler in a dream and woke up in the comment section- so…
The wounds that Mother Om inflicted are fast fading away, but the cost of healing lives on. I wonder, will each of the seven damned snakes on their thrones deal their own damage?
In a sense she has acquired all that she wanted and needed from incubus. Her wounds no longer trouble her, and is no longer suffering from the weakness of body that comes with recuperating from a demiurge-sized ass kicking.
If recent events so far have been any indication, Alice-Un will desperately need this bargain granted strength the moment that she sets but 1 foot into the red city.
But this is not a gift. It is a loan, at best. More accurately, an extension of the power of Incubus’s Key. He can surely remove it more easily than one withdraws a finger.
The question is, how long will he wait, and what will our heroine be capable of afterwards?
He claimed that he merely unleashed her own power, clearing away the self-doubts and internal obstacles which prevented her from using the key properly. Time will tell how true that is, but his comments to Jaganoth suggest that if he laid a hook in her, it’s not one which he chose to confide in his superior. On the other hand, the loss of those restraints might well leave her open to hubris and overconfidence.
In any case, she still has the Key of Kings, and I strongly suspect that she can indeed overmatch Incubus himself despite any tampering, especially if she gets a bit of insight from a third party. I suspect that the conspirators thought merely to create a threat to overmatch their peers, but have overestimated their own capacity to defeat her afterwards.

Still making progress on a dwarf fortress ksbd (to steal a name: Slaves to Yisun Chapter 3: Reach HFS Through Violence) and part of my attempts at getting the demiurges to show up and rule a civilization was figuring out how to deal with them getting killed by a camel 30 years after world generation starts, so I had an idea to see if I could have them resurrected as a regional effect.
That kinda works, but while I was doing that there was an option to have the regions rain a material of your choice, so I decided to have it be Godblood, and for fun had it be something you can drink and get intoxicated.
When your character does this, they can talk about their moods and emotional states, and they attribute it to drinking booze or something usually.
With Godblood I picked a name kinda arbitrarily for it:
[SYNDROME]
[SYN_NAME:drinking ambrosia]
[SYN_IDENTIFIER:INEBRIATION]
That’s a good idea but it’s not easy to make sure that works either, though I do still want to make it so you can actually rip keys out and use them yourself, plus let them have a squad of people they lend power to.
Did get it set up so you can sense the presence of a keyholder nearby, plus folks like magisters can sense demons so all the little icons over on the right aren’t actually visible to my controlled unit (the blue @ on the left) which worked out pretty neat: http://i.imgur.com/dbphOKd.png
As did a bit of fanart from one of the bay12 folks (Rumrusher) when I was trying to make maybe sword slashes have a bit more flair and ended up with them kinda emitting black flames into the target, which wound up melting a nearby stone chair that burst into a cloud of magma, so this is Topple the Gods and Murder their Thrones: http://i.imgur.com/hSMGi5v.png
A pawn with power is still a pawn, poor puppet.
Dangling, dancing, ever onwards.
No matter how powerful the pawns purpose is still to be sacrificed in service of the puppetmaster.

Oh I just realisedthe plot twist of Maya beeing a demiurg and former Swordqueen of the Middlearmy and that she now hang out with the most unique special forces worriors of the multiverse!
There is a question that keeps crossing my mind about this deal, for by Incubus’s own admission she could theoretically do this as well. Could Incubus be unable to make the same toy of Allison that he has so many others by virtue of the key in her head? I mean, she already had the power, all that Incubus could give was a more innate form of knowledge about how to use it.
Those who predict of doom from this venture; underestimate Allison. Incubus said from his own lips, she is the true heir, her potential is without limitation.

That power is not yours Allison. Take care to control it, or it will sweep your mind away.

AL-YIS-UN will not allow herself to be controlled, I wager. She will burn the thumbs of Incubus with her sheer hotheadedness.

Beware, All-YS-UN. Such power is fleeting, and you shall be left all the hungrier for your feast of crumbs.
Hmm. Lose blood, gain power?
Like a grain of salt in the sugar bowl.
How long ’till she realizes that Incubus’s flames burn cooler than her own?
Can’t start an oven without a pilot light.
‘Least she can fucking stand.

the power that was given cannot be taken back
you cant give back a present after all
The Buddha would differ with you, as he noted when a fool insulted him.

Allison will regret her choice.
Incubus will regret it more.
Oh god, that’s freaky.

Just make whatever kills a demiurge become a new demiurge.

The Prince with starlight in his ears speaks wisdom. This relationship can only be exploitative.
Our hope remains: The relationship can be renegotiated at will.

Please don’t do it.
Incubus will regret this.
I think an Eibon Devil realized before that she can drink up more power than anyone would expect….

I wan to see them ripp the Golden Army apart 😮
Recognise a sense of power.
Remember the flame that burns on command.
I know this from dreams.
Now people will expect things of her.
Actually, she volunteered as president of the bad decisions club.
