Seeker of Thrones 4-29
Chapter: 4
“Do not stare too long at the Pit. Do not underestimate the Pit, you sorry little fools. It has claws, and it will not hesitate to sink them into your unwilling flesh and drag you shrieking into the dark.”
– Mother Om, Imperiatrix of the Gates of Fire
Well, seems like we have a nested series of inadvisable deals.
Reach heaven through pyramid schemes.
And the rising king drank the waters of the pit and did know the hollow shapes of royalty. So came the hunger that devours and the knowledge that burns. And the rising king did grasp at the axel and so shook the mighty wheel of creation.
Does this mean Auntie Maya is #8?
His elephantiasis seems mostly beneficial
So Maya was the original demiurge of Flame, before Incubus usurped her? Well, I suppose that explains why he’s a cripple covered in scars.
From the way he’s describing it, it’s not that he usurped it, but that he’s serving as her regent while she does her own thing.
Thousand-year sabbatical
That description reminds me of someones aunt…
Walking up to that throne must be a pain in the ass. Getting a good foothold in all the treasure only for it to slip out from under you. If it always looked like that no wonder she left it behind!
As humans say, “the pot chickens”.
As a human, I can attest that this is the exact expression, yes.
‘Ware your words, oh Sword King. Al-Yis-Un is the Heir to Zoss’s domain, and if the Conquering King chose her to assume his mantle, then she is, or will be worthy of it. Certainly, the Conquering King would know better than to bequeath his Key upon one who would squander it.
No, you underestimate the future King. Willingly or not, we will bend the knee to Kill Six Billion Demons. The only reason you would not, oh Sword King, is if you are consumed by the the fires of her might. The eldest of my brothers – Metatron, Michael, Gabriel and all the others – learned that lesson the hard way against Zoss.
It will be a refreshing change to have true Royalty back on the throne.
Soon, there shall be no thrones but one.
No thrones but zero! Glory to the Destructor!
Before all else, she might just want to ask him what he thinks about death.
This… this is the realm of Mathangi-ten-Meti. I am far more fearful of her now if this is the wreckage of the palace of a demiurge to a mere 20,000 worlds.
And dear sweet YISUN, the Compact is broken. Two heads of the Great Beast conspire to cut off the other six. Even if AL-YIS-UN hadn’t destroyed the Tree of Woe, Incubus is in league with Jagganoth. War is imminent now.
War was, indeed, inevitable. It always is, when there are two or more people existing at the same time.
Is the sword-lady a dethroned ruler?
A war is coming
These kings and false deities pretend at the throne of god. Who among them shall stand against the void that yawns without end?
It took me a moment to realize that the throne is perched atop a mound of *cups*, not coins. Not that Capital J would rightly care if he were squatting on a pile of Skittles, of course, but I’m right curious why the most Feared of the Feared is merely passively blocking Inky’s way (as opposed to taking a more, er, *proactive* approach).
Wait.
Wait, wait.
Are Incubus and Jagganoth a couple?
Like, that’s a really interesting idea with a lot of different possibilities, but the fanart possibilities are mortifying. I have Cut out my Fifth Eye, and I still See it! Please make it stop!
–and I am there in the drawing of every drop of blood in the Pit and beyond. I have seen some shit man, but this… this is not my fetish. This is my NOPE.
Hot yaois
This one suspects that Jagganoth did not descend into the squalid darkness of the pit simply to make jest and brood ominously. Jagganoth has something important to say, and he will be heard whether Incubus desires it or not.
Oh, how ambition can sometimes cause us to underestimate all others. The truly wise can be ambitious, but they take care to not let it drag them into the abyss. For those submerged in ambition can be blind to the harsh truths around them.
Still, one should not underestimate the power of greed and determination.
Well, looks like that balance of power Mother Om was so concerned with is already out the window.
Is Incubus blind?
It is entirely possible, Geas Knight.
It might explain his proficiency in the realm of Dream.
The true astonishment of this revelation is the apparent complicity between Jagganoth and Incubus. If Jagganoth is balanced by the other six, then the first traitor holds a great deal of sway in how events unfurl.
Intensely interesting.
Looks like it. Ever since he got up, he’s been tapping that cane all over the place. Of course, it could be an act to make mere foolish mortals like us think he’s blind…
breaking kayfabe- wait, so incubus is a woman? so s/he was in cahoots with Jagganoth?? whaa.
While I personally support Incubus hiding a set of tits under those robes for maximum scarred person hotness, I “think” Incubus was referring to the person whose throne he usurped with that “her army” line.
Many seek the throne
Many thrones to seek
seek the higher throne
Bear- Seek- Seek- Lest-
Uhhhhhh. Is incubus not one of The Seven Lords of Infinity?
He’s one of the Seven, but what they seem to be getting at here is that Incibus usurped his place from another demiurge, and didn’t even have the good sense and/or capability to kill the woman he stole it from.
They lounge in their stolen towers, sipping from every taste until even blood is stale to their mouths.
Theirs is a fate worse than death, for it is better to die in fear and regret than live an eternity numbed to all worthwhile.
