okay, im sorry if this comes of rude, but what happned to this comment section? i remumber that until this last few pages it was probably the most civilized comment section i ever saw with even argumnts being civilized, with out swears or such things-but this page in particular seems to have every one angry. am i missing something that ticked every one of?
Allison just got a very small and filtered taste of what Jadis’s entire life is like.
This is like a 4th wall breaker, able to read the early script, the present script and even the future script… But unable to act on anything beyond what they themselves are scripted to do and even the thoughts, panic and mind breaking realisation of all that is scripted in.
I dread to think how long Jadis’ mind must have bent around in circles on itself before she was able to come out of it, but even coming out of it would have been scripted in.
So I guess Allison’s critical test here is to see if there’s a way to break the scripted events.
Wait… I just realised. Jadis has shown that she knows everything in the present and the future, but has she also revealed that she knows everything in the past?
Historical information might actually be useful here. Jadis presumably knows everything Zoss did, knew and discovered. Presumably she also knows everything Metatron does.
But perhaps she doesn’t know everything that has… Never happened, or maybe the better term is “unhappened”. All the iterations of Zoss’ successors who have come before her.
Jadis, I beseech you, tell me the secret to infinite money. If you do, then I will not call you a usurper and a false god anymore, but will instead consider you a pretty cool dude (though obviously no replacement for Lord Mammon, May He Rest In Peace)
Ok, the speech is her demonstrating that she can see any point in Allison’s life past, present and future. Predicting next second and narrating feelings and thoughts is just a most obvious way to do so.
Comment about electrons isn’t a fumble on her part (neurons work through transport of ions, not electrons, for starters, unless they’re in the retina), but rather her paraphrasing Allison’s thoughtstream as latter’s realisation is growing.
The interesting question: did she get her Key before activation of the Machine, after, or in the process? In the latter case it may actually BE said infinite knowledge in transferrable form.
Alt-text says that the Machine isn’t working anymore, so stuffing Allison there would be pointless, but Jadis can still make her to take the Key, both ending her suffering and gaining the knowledge needed to advance the fate.
The important question: is she aware of the loop beyond elephant-man’s speech? If so, does her understanding differ from him? I always thought of him as a rather unreliable narrator.
42 Fragments the Universe Beyond All Reintegration
Yes. “Hollowed” implies it’s not working. Although it might not necessarily be broken – Jadis could decommission it arbitrarily, regardless of how intact it was.
Excellent work here and I am very curious if there will be next output that will exceed this kind of story. I look forward to seeing more of this in the future.
Well that is just downright creepy.
You are naked before her. There are no secrets.

“What happened to civilized discussion??”
Oh boy, I see you weren’t around when the Solomon arc was still ongoing

Absolutely love the subtext leadup to this page.

Alright ALRIGHT, point taken!

Which alt-text says the machine is broken? Did you mean 4-127?

It’s just terrifying! there’s nothing but reality! An infinite void of nothing! Where do we fit!?
That sounds like Hell.
DECONSTRUCTION???????????????
