I don’t comment on stuff on content threads, as a general rule. But needed to write down for posterity that this page is gorgeous. In the context of a comic series I love reading specifically for its great art, this dramatic visual aside is beautifully done. Thank you.
Speculation: I think Jadis sees Nothing since she abandoned all her emotion in pursuit of obtaining the Shape. Her entire perspective is fixated on her inability to enjoy anything. Now she just wants kinship in her plight with Alison (who she hopes sees nothing the same as her). Jadis herself refers to how beautiful the “amber” of space-time is, its just too bad that after she saw her own role from outside the wheel she couldn’t appreciate her own fate’s beauty.
Honestly, the whole “everything is predetermined even me saying this” angle is so trite and played out, it’s kind of below this webcomic to make it even a temporary focus. Because there’s genuinely nothing to say about it or engage with– that’s the point. “Oh it’s all nothing, nothing matters, choice is an illusion? Okay, moving on.” It’s terribly shallow, even with a supernatural angle. Okay, this new character’s role is to “do” nothing, no scenes with her in it matter and she can sit back to Deus Ex Machina this story in the future, “justified” as “well it was just always going to happen, duh”. Please do better than that.
Abbadon already said this wasn’t their favorite sort of plot line. But it’s a ‘played out’ trope for a reason. this fills a very specific space in a narrative arc and it works for a reason.
I’ll continue to follow and to trust. Abbadon won’t leave us wanting.
If you are like me and are readig this on mobile, read this page in horizontal mode. I just saw a bunch of lines at first, but then I flipped my screen and now I get it.
I guess this fits pretty well with this arc as an example on how the shape of the things is different depending on your perspective.
there is peace to be found

Are those speed lines?
If they are, that implies a couple interesting things about the nature of the Multiverse…
I can barely read the comments on this background. Obviously a deep artistic statement on the meaninglessness of discussing art.
