I’m looking forward to seeing White Chain’s reaction upon learning that AL-YIS-UN took out Mottom single-handedly. It’ll be especially funny because her original plan was to was to just set the tree on fire, and, well, Zoss talked her into unleashing The Blade of Want.
White Chain: “Allison! Why did you destroy Mottom!? Now the omniverse will be plunged into chaos and war!”
Allison: “Yeah, my bad. The hallucination of King Zoss made a convincing argument at the time.”
White Chain: “Wut.”
Allison: “Kings gotta Want, White Chain! Kings gotta Want!”
I feel a little silly asking this at this point, but I keep reading mentions of the Blade of Want and yet I have no idea what it is, could someone Enlighten me?
Maya uses the Maybe Sword. She does not have access to the Blade of Want. That is something only AL-YIS-UN has access to because the Blade of Want can only be used by the King of All Kings and Zoss has given her the Master Key to the Multiverse named her as its next ruler.
The Blade of Want is the quantum of Division, which is the only truly creative power in the Wheel, even for YisUn.
Most divine abilities function by using the Blade of Want to Divide the various parts of the Wheel in various ways. For example Aesma could travel to various parts of the Wheel in moments, simply by cutting a wormhole into the fabric of Time/Space.
To wield the Blade of Want you need a Key of Kings(or otherwise access to divine authority), a Royal Will, and a focused Want, so this is a major milestone in Allison’s journey to the throne of the cosmos, and anyone who hears about this will likely re-evaluate their original threat assessment of her.
To employ Campbell’s oversimplifications, this is her “Transformation” or Apostasis”; that is, she has accepted her future self, and begun the path to her destiny, by rejecting her old self, and her false perceptions of her old self.
Basically, it’s literally your desire made manifest. She WANTS to slice Mottom, so she does. At least that’s my inferior grasp of it. Kings need to want, and so she did.
The Blade of Want is the name given by the title of the relevant strip to the construct of white fire used to set on fire the demon tree that grew from Mottom’s previous husband.
The Blade of Want is considered the strongest of attacks, a form of Division made pure.
Al-Yis-Un displayed the Blade of Want against the horror sprouted from Mottom’s former husband. The Incipient Godking wanted to rid her sight of the horrendous murdertree, and her Want manifested into the Blade of Want and smote it from her gaze.
Fearsome is she, who holds the blazing core in her brow and exhibits such terrible talent with the ways of True Royalty.
I wonder if White Chain will be upset or conflicted. Someone who “isn’t supposed to be the chosen one” wouldn’t be able to do that so easily I’d wager.
Few things can withstand the onslaught of the calm deconstruction a Trow’s masterful martial prowess brings, often spoken of in the same breath as an angel’s precise fist flurries or the magical fire beams spoken by the Calliach. However, such unleashed violence is a rarity these days following the downfall of our empire, and rarer still those talented who would face such brutality. While I do not compare to the impeccable warrior capabilities of some of the exalted Praetorian Guard, there are vast advantages to being a sixty foot tall colossus of carved stone and liquid iron.
That being said, that golden slayer is no child. One may be born with great strength but talent must be grown, learned and honed until such that it is impeccable, else they be overwhelmed by superior foes.
Wow, some of the guards are still alive! I guess to guard the palace of a quasi-god you need to be somewhat skilled. Also, I hope the Gun Witch makes it out of the coming bloody rampage alive… she’s my favorite 🙂

I mean, was it a hallucination? The dead can be anywhere, it seems.

We don’t really have anything clear on it at the moment, though it’s somewhat implied to be the white fire that Allison’s been using.
It’s a metaphor for how the right sort of desire means a hopeful King can cut through any obstacle of any sort.
‘cept when Auntie Maya uses it. then it’s literal.
probably.
No Angel, Devil, or Demiurge has access to it. Only AL-YIS-UN has access to and can use the Key of All Kings. It belongs to her, and her alone.

Are you even trying to read your Psalms or are you mocking this assembly?

Remember how Allison killed Hastet-Om with terrible white fire?
That was the Blade of Want — the willpower of a King that carves reality apart.

There is your start to understanding the Blade of Want.
I wonder if White Chain will be upset or conflicted. Someone who “isn’t supposed to be the chosen one” wouldn’t be able to do that so easily I’d wager.
Ah yes, the Holy Blade. An awesome track for an awesome sequence.
“Aah, you were at my side, all along.
My true mentor…
My guiding moonlight…”
Did he just get bigger?
There is a tradition with certain musics
one who falls is kept safe, and lifted.
By the armpit is generally preferred to the wrist.
Up next: White Chain gains 20 gray liquid angel hairs when they find out what Allison did to Mottom’s asshole tree husband.
I cannot believe there are people willing to fight Maya. How stupid must they be?
Alice-UN in this second panel shows some real Royalty to her dumb subjects, fighting each other.
Our observations have revealed that the well of idiocy is one which never runs dry.
Getting TFS Hellsing Abridged flasbacks on that last panel.
“Welp, guess you all know what time it is.”
“But you know how that song and dance goes…”
“And regardless… We have one advantage that they sorely lack… ZEPPELINS!”
Go fetch the tub, as it seems time for a bloodbath.
Get the butter, because this Alaskan king crab looks about ready to boil.
I, for one, am just happy the baby is fine.
For now.
What kind of monster is capable of killing such a child?
Truly, who among us possesses the might?

Mano-a-mano, either Aeon could do it.
Also, in a way, aren’t all children born for my Red Harvest?
All thorn, no rose
Perhaps it is too early to say such things. It is only just about to be watered.
That is some hecking sufficiently creepy music what sounds bloody angry. Also hi. /watch?v=ALbVEmzY5S4
Angry mode activated.
Thorn Knight.
(THôrn nīt)
noun
That one thing you don’t want to be stuck in a room with.
So many fools. They learned to fight, not to know when to run.
Excellent mood music. The only question is: what phase of the boss fight are we in?
Two friends, forged in flame, reunite at last.
A Thorn Knight, filled with fury, swears vengance against teapots everywhere.
A horde of fools, their numbers pruned greatly, prepare to chase again.
Many guards, in far over their heads, dearly wish they’d taken this sodding day off.
A great palace of wealth and fortune, about to crash to the earth below – plunderers everywhere, rejoice!

Thanks a bunch.
Auntie Maya looks to be surrounded by about 7 people. Shouldn’t be too much for her to handle.
Soon to be surrounded by 14 people.
In one strike.
Copy and paste this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALbVEmzY5S4 if you don’t want to try and type the address a couple letters at a time.
Also, avoid battle if you don’t want to end up fighting Death.

Reminds me of my last bounty job. Lot less tea, lot more orphans.
Someone really should of warned Juggernaut Star about the teacups. They’re as dangerous as stairs.
It keeps hapening!
now he’s angry
