True Royalty is only inconvenienced by Mortality. For indeed, to take the Mantle of the King is to BECOME the King. Allison will become Zoss, and Zoss Allison, and both shall be Royal. It has been written.
Allision is not Zoss. Everything Zoss did was and were things only he could do. Everything Allison does is something Zoss could not do. She is his Successor and her name is Kill Six Billion Demons.
And that is why neither Angels nor Demons can ever be considered true Royalty. Only humans get to decide what their true name is, and a human can change their true name practically at will.
He had those in his last appearance, at the end of chapter 4. But then, he also had a halo-crown thing above his head which seems to be gone. Also, he sounds a lot more articulate now than he did back then.
I don’t know, it seems like Zoss had them before breaching Throne. Could it be that he knew Angels from before? Well, if I believe that he’s in fact Zaid, it makes sense.
This is true. If a being cannot choose to stand, does not have the arrogance to take hold of power, then they can never be Royal, no matter how many titles other heap upon them.
Heh- you cannot keep the Conquering King down, it seems. Aspirants to Royalty rarely do as they should, even if all of the multiverse says there is something they must do. Though he slew my many brothers, it is good to see Zoss again.
In other news, it appears as though Nadia is taking the countenance she possessed when handling king Pryan Sor. This would be a prudent time to flee, but I would see AL-YIS-UN claim heaven through violence.
*Arrives with 30,000 gallons of various inks.* “that’s yer basic gossamer dream ink, yer indelible time ink, and yer fate’s testament ink. Hope it keeps you satisfied until your regular shipment comes in.”
I was thinking also, on the other side of the coin, of “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.” Allison dares to disturb the universe, even though she is afraid.
‘I am no prophet—and here’s no great matter;
I have seen the moment of my greatness flicker,
And I have seen the eternal Footman hold my coat, and snicker,
And in short, I was afraid.
And would it have been worth it, after all,
After the cups, the marmalade, the tea,
Among the porcelain, among some talk of you and me,
Would it have been worth while,
To have bitten off the matter with a smile,
To have squeezed the universe into a ball
To roll it toward some overwhelming question,
To say: “I am Lazarus, come from the dead,
Come back to tell you all, I shall tell you all”—
If one, settling a pillow by her head,
Should say: “That is not what I meant at all;
That is not it, at all.” ‘
All shall bend the knee, for we are in the presence of TRUE royalty!
This one still wonders however; now that Alison has decided to become a molder of fates, what fate shall she mold for Mottom? She speaks of intent to help her, but is this desire to assist driven by true kindness and sympathy, or is it driven by Alison’s disgust with what she has been shown? This one suspects that the answer to that question will tell us all a great deal about the true character of our Alison.
It seems to this one that She may be motivated by a desire to “fix” Mottom, perhaps in order to make a friend out of a foe, and a potential assistant along Her path to Royalty.
If I may step out of the comic and its meta for a moment (I know, Blasphemy), this page reminds me A LOT of Mage: The Ascension. Specifically, it’s Allison meeting her Avatar again. The Avatar, in MtAs, being the magical soul every Mage possesses, and which goads them towards Ascension.
So Allison, it’s not time to balk now. Hone your Will and grasp True Magick.
If I’m reading this correctly Allison is so annoyed that she just told Zoss that nothing will stop her from taking the place of YISUN and that she is The Successor.
Murderous Vagrant Slays Monsters And Steals Their Loot
No? She was feeling apprehensive again (that moment of lucidity right before you do something crazy and you’re wondering what drove you to do it in the first place), then Zoss showed up and reversed Mottom’s entire spiel from before (how she was shaped by her experiences to become the monster that she is now and that this is the burden of power; Zoss refutes this by saying those with true power shape themselves and the world around them, not the other way around). He ends by rhetorically asking Allison if she wants to be a badass or a weenie. She chose to be a badass.
And now AL-YIS-UN, true heir to the throne of god and the Wielder Of Names, having seen the truth lying behind the thrones of the Demiurges; that they are mad and pitiful beneath their gilded exteriors, and for one with the will and the resolution of True Royalty there is nought to fear as she takes her inheritance! Burn the tree AL-YIS-UN, and topple Mother Om from her floating castle in the sky!
Then grab as much of her fancy loot as you can carry and sell it off at the grubbiest yet most reasonable valued pawn stores in Throne.
Man, Hastet is such a gross motherfucker in the best way. I like the idea that becoming a demiurge changes you so much beyond recognition even after death. I wonder what happened to all the other dead demiurges? Did they all become trees after death? Or something worse?
If Zoss is to be believed, a demiurge shall become his greatest desire, once he can no longer fend off his want. The corpse-tree is merely a literal expression of endless lust (bearing literal fruit grown on the blood of virgin maidens), but I suspect more profound mutations exist out there, as well.
Is it just me, or when Allison’s Will is being shown here, alongside her Key flaring up, her eyes flare up as well – similar to how the red eyes of Zoss flare up when he is burning with Will (like shown when he breached the firmament) or how the Vatra pursuer guy’s red eyes also flare up (like when he was seen by All in the party)?
I wonder if we’ll get something like this for every Demiurge: the Demiurges explaining their philosophies to Allison then Zoss shows up at the end to explain how they’ve misunderstood the part they hold of Yisun’s name when Allison has rejected them.
That could get repetetive and predictable, and therefore seems unlikely with this comic. However, I could possibly see Allison growing with each Demiurge she defeats, getting to the point where she can see the explanations for herself and doesn’t need Zoss’s exposition.
I also have a teeny desire to see her do something other than defeat at least one of them. Enlist them to serve her, or perhaps she just shows up with all her power and her demon and her angel and the Demiurge decides it’s suddenly a fantastic time to retire to a small pleasant cottage on a deserted island a totally unremarkable backwoods world. Chapter end.
I hope that, what with Allison embracing the will to power and her compatriots foretold to be angel and a demon, she also gets a fairly normal mortal follower who reminds her that mundanes will have to live in the world that she’s shaping. Probably not an issue just yet, but if she starts buying into Zoss’ motivational speeches…
I’m taking bets that her final form will not be blonde.
To shape the world, you must shape yourself. To shape yourself, you must first accept yourself. Only then will you be ready to destroy the enemy called “I”.
Wait is it just me or is royalty sounding more and more like Nietzsche’s ubermensch? like someone who goes beyond the masses and shapes the world etc or am i misunderstanding the concept. hmmm
The Ubermensch is an aspirant to Royalty; one who seeks to Divide the universe and reshape it as he wills. But to aspire to Royalty and to claim it are separated by a vast chasm, for the Grand Enemy’s traps are manifold, and cunningly hidden.
The Grand Enemy trapped Mother Om through fear: without her fears, she knew no way in which to be, and wielded her power to reshape the world that the Enemy might be assuaged. This is the first snare of the mighty, which is called Empire.
There are similarities, but the Ubermensch is meant to be a thing wholly apart from humanity. The Ubermensch cares not for the concerns of mortals, being above and beyond them in ways that mortal minds could not possibly comprehend. ROYALTY, no matter how grand, is ultimately mortal, and shall be ground down by the turning of the Wheel. Moreover, ROYALTY is ultimately judged by its rule over its subjects- a Royal who refuses to care about those they rule over shall have no place upon the Throne.
You know, it’s only a matter of time before 6 Juggernaut Star turns up. Given the gravity of the fallout of a meeting between the slayer of the last king and his heir, I think it’s only appropriate that we start making bets on the outcome.
I cannot be alone in thinking it is not mere coincidence we were told a tale about a Red-Eyed King just before being reminded that a certain King we know has red eyes as well.
Despite what appears in three-dimensional reality, BURN is actually one of the 31 ways of division. Simple, Complete, and Irreversible. To control it, one must grasp the vision of destruction with their hands, and the essence of destruction in their mind. Only with this resolution of will to destruction can one embrace the 22nd way of division.
Regarding Hastet’s transformation into a tree: previously we saw Nadia deliberately turn the ambassador into a tree. Should we not therefore take her statement two pages back about her husband’s corpse that ‘I didn’t expect him to sprout’ with a grain of salt? Did she have a hand in it or not? Or is her power to treefy her enemies granted to her by her treehusband? A knotty question.
It’s the Red-White Art. The Red Art focuses on changing the physical world around a practitioner, the White Art the practitioner himself. The Red-White Art, however, allows one to alter the self-perception of others. However, in each example of the Art, it requires that the practitioner first refine their will then to speak out loud their intentions, and that they speak in the correct manner. It is unknown to me whether or not someone may unintentionally alter the world around them with the Art without even speaking, but if it is possible, I imagine only someone unimaginably powerful would be capable of such an act. Certainly not a frightened queenling afraid of the husband she has only finished burying away.
While Queen is more accurately gendered it has, traditionally within the English language, implied subservience to the King. I’m ASSUMING that the whole multiverse doesn’t speak bloody English here, of course.
So when we speak of Kings we speak not specifically of a male monarch. We’re speaking of a platonic concept of royalty. Of mastery. Of taking the world with both hands and forcing it into line, rather than “peasant”–accepting the world as it is.
From Monty Python and the Holy Grail:
First person: “Who’s that?”
Second person: “Must be a King.”
First person: “Why?”
Second person: “He doesn’t have shit all over him.”
Oh dear. She is doing the shiny head thing. She shines with the light of ROYALTY. Her WILL shall turn the universe about her. THE FIRE OF HER GLORY SHALL BURN AWAY THE PUPPET KINGS AND SCATTER THE ASHTOTHEFOURWINDSALLWILLBEMADETOREFLECTTHELIGHTTHATISKILLSIXBILLIONDEMONS
So ever after both giving away his Key (love the hole in his forehead to emphasize that), and losing his head, Zoss can still appear to his successor… serious badass there.
FROM POISONED ROOTS SPRING ROTTEN FRUIT. FROM SUFFERING, SUFFERING. FROM FEAR, FEAR. ROTTEN TO THE CORE, ALL OF IT.
THIS GREAT MATRIARCH HAS ARROGATED ALL LIGHT AND WEALTH TO HER BLOATED BOUGHS. ALL TO FEED THE SPREADING ROT. WHAT NEW SEED MIGHT HOPE TO GROW WHEN THE MOTHER WHO BORE ITS FRUIT CASTS HER SHADOW ACROSS A HUNDRED THOUSAND UNIVERSES?
CUT. JUST CUT. WIELD YOUR FUCKING NAME, DEAR ALLISON. AND SOON, WE WILL SEE THESE TANGLED GROVES BECOME VERY, VERY…
Somewhere out there in the multiplicity a mad god is writing ever weirder and more unpronounceable chapter names for Zoss to try and fit into his prep talks. Just to fuck with him.
Time for Alice-UN to realize her ROYALTY, master herself and ability, to master Fate, but now the question remains how will she shape Fate and the coming future? hopefully to break The Lords like Mottom and give us true rule once more, and cleanse the wicked with fire from Throne, I can hope can I?
Look to the Sky. This is the Shape of Kings, the blade to cut the sweet fabric of Reality as you Will it. Embrace the Flame, Eternal and Ancient, and destroy those before you. This is the path to Glory. Take it as your birthright, Heir.
Look to the sky! This is the Shape of Kings, the Blade with which you shall tear asunder the sweet fabric of Reality as you Will it. Look unto the Flame, Eternal and Ancient and embrace it. Burn all whom stand before you and Cleanse your birthright, Heir.
One wonders whether Zoss is really there, or if his Flame simply remains as a shade, bound to the King’s Key. If he really does maintain enough form for the rest of us to continue to perceive him, I have some choice questions I would ask him.
The post reveals some burning questions and issues that should be discussed
and explained. Moreover, it’s crucial to understand within the detail.
From the article, one can easily locate something basic,
remarkably for him, something that may be immensely useful.
So I am thrilled with all the data I’ve just obtained. Thanks a lot!
What an outstanding article, thank you a lot for climbing this
serious issue. Being profoundly assured that many of folks would share your
views, I even showed your writing to a close friend of mine.
And that’s when the arguments began… We’ve got different opinions but, of course, no matter,
be it only something regular or really important, should ruin a real friendship.
In my humble opinion, which surely has the right to exist,
the next point you’ve made cannot be questioned.
I love to read comics it does not matter the story is good or bad. basically, I am addicted to reading comics. I have benefited from this addiction with this addiction Like I learn more and more new words every day which makes my communication skills much better. I will definitely be suggested that everyone should read more and more comics, books novels, etc. It has many advantages which I have already told you about.
bro for life
And indeed beyond.
Death is but a door, time is but a window.
He Will Be Back.
For a dead guy Zoss shows up an awful lot.
The dead are found littering the streets in Throne begging for coin; at least Zoss is politeful remaining in his void form and mind-state.
All-I-Son? Hm. Hm!
No. All-Ysun.
All-Is-On(e) HM HM!
AL-YIS-UN
One That Rules
Zoss is not held by the whims of causality. His death was but an end of a very twisted path.
Do not defy fate. Embrace it, and become its master. In this, become ROYALTY.
Mottom embraced fate, but as a slave. Allison has chosen royalty, but can she hold it long enough to become its master?
Do defy Fate. It gets all pissy and mad, but secretly Fate finds it a terrible turn on, and it it happier to do as you want afterwords.
The first word of royalty is the name you choose for yourself.
And that is why neither Angels nor Demons can ever be considered true Royalty. Only humans get to decide what their true name is, and a human can change their true name practically at will.
He said it! He said the thing!
Yes. A full-on title drop.
Yes. A full-on title drop! They are satisfying, are they not? Look up “Unsounded.” That title drop took like three years and was worth every day.
And with this, Alice-UN takes her first step towards royalty.
Waaaaaiiiiit… are those invincible Jagganoth nails in his head?
No idea. Could be a fashion statement for all I know.
That being said, I hope you’re right. Jagganoth was given the feathers to forge into nails. I like to imagine Zoss made his own without assistance.
No. Check out the Broken World RPG.
[x] King [ ] Not King
You go, Allison – or should I say KILL SIX BILLION DEMONS woo!
Zoss held that key for millennia. Of course he’s going to have left a mark on it. And he clearly chose Alison and not the boyfriend.
I don’t think it matters who he intended to choose. True royalty chooses themselves.
This is true. If a being cannot choose to stand, does not have the arrogance to take hold of power, then they can never be Royal, no matter how many titles other heap upon them.
Now, All-Ysun has grasped Royal.
Let us see if She also gains the title Wise.
I am reminded of a certain inept queen.

Though Allison seems like she’ll be far-and-away more competent a sovereign.
WELP can’t say she’s inept now!
Long live the king.
This is going to cause a lot of paperwork. I’m going to need more ink.
We can come to an understanding, I feel.
*Arrives with 30,000 gallons of various inks.* “that’s yer basic gossamer dream ink, yer indelible time ink, and yer fate’s testament ink. Hope it keeps you satisfied until your regular shipment comes in.”
Reach Heaven through violence.
Burn God, and see if he screams.
Also, see if He tastes like chicken? (probably tastes like pork)
Anyone else feel that Invictus is appropriate here?
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced or cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
-William Earnest Henley
I was thinking also, on the other side of the coin, of “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.” Allison dares to disturb the universe, even though she is afraid.
‘I am no prophet—and here’s no great matter;
To roll it toward some overwhelming question,
To say: “I am Lazarus, come from the dead,
Come back to tell you all, I shall tell you all”—
If one, settling a pillow by her head,
Should say: “That is not what I meant at all;
That is not it, at all.” ‘

Is Invictus ever inappropriate?
When administering a protological exam.
Por que no los dos?
Exactly the reaction he was intending, methinks!
I’m suspicious that this is really Zoss. This is how Mottom ended up in this state.
Either kings should be philosophers or philosophers should be kings.
Philosophers tell truths the whole world knows. Kings tell lies the world believes.
Ooooh Allison’s eyes changed color on that last panel- the first sign that she’s finally embracing change? Nice.
She is filled with Determination.
And so it begins, the Ascension of the Wielder of Names.
Wednesday is going to be very fucking metal I think. As if burning down a man-tree that feeds on blood and grows fruits-of-youth wasn’t metal enough.
Indeed, I feel that she might even encounter some resistance by the Glutton Queen. The power of Want burns deep in both of them.
As the Wise Sage of the Seventh and Ninety-Sixth Realms once said, BOSS FIGHT!
I’m loving Zoss’s comic book emphasis talk. Especially because emphasis doesn’t occur that often in K6BD, so when it does there’s weight to it.
Also I love Zoss period. Every time I see the Conquering King I squee with joy.
This is the Eleusinian Mystery, and we are watching Proserpina kick ass in real time.
Man, Hastet is such a gross motherfucker in the best way. I like the idea that becoming a demiurge changes you so much beyond recognition even after death. I wonder what happened to all the other dead demiurges? Did they all become trees after death? Or something worse?

The corpse-tree is merely a literal expression of endless lust (bearing literal fruit grown on the blood of virgin maidens), but I suspect more profound mutations exist out there, as well.
Got a typo there in the 2nd to the last panel, Abbadon. “Or you will you choose . . .” Gotta remove that first ‘you’.
This is fucking perfect.
Now I know which Queen I’ll serve, for eternity and far beyond.
And in today’s episode, Allison cranks up the badassery meter by a few notches.
SHE SITS THE THRONE OF GOD AND DROWNS IN FLAME THE MOUNTAINS OF MEN
In layman’s terms.
Do the impossible, see the invisible. Row! row! Fight the power! Touch the untouchable, break the unbreakable. Row! Row! fight the power!
MY VIOLENCE IS THE VIOLENCE THAT WILL PIERCE THE HEAVENS!
Don’t lose your way. From Kill La Kill.
would also work.

Enlist them to serve her, or perhaps she just shows up with all her power and her demon and her angel and the Demiurge decides it’s suddenly a fantastic time to retire to a small pleasant cottage on a deserted island a totally unremarkable backwoods world. Chapter end.
Because I think that’d be funny.
CARVE OUT THE WORLD BETWEEN YOUR TEETH
This young heiress has truly got the attitude at least! Ah, this reminds me of my previous master and her attempt at royalty my dear sweet condesce.
With all due respect to Her Imperial Condescension – which is to say none whatsoever – I hope this young Royal grows up more than yours.
This statement should not be construed as a request for the Heir to not get blinged out as all shell, however.
Well yeah. That goes without saying. A Queen needs her finery.
Take your new shape.
I’m taking bets that her final form will not be blonde.
To shape the world, you must shape yourself. To shape yourself, you must first accept yourself. Only then will you be ready to destroy the enemy called “I”.
Now she just has to reach heaven through violence.
~Easy~
Hastet Om’s reaping has been long delayed, but it is all the sweeter for the savoring.
The first steps to Royalty.
“It’s too late to correct it,” said the Red Queen: “when you’ve once said a thing, that fixes it, and you must take the consequences.”
> “It’s too late to correct it,” said the Red Queen: “when you’ve once said a thing, that fixes it, and you must take the consequences.”
Something that PM Cameron might want to consider.

It is similar, oh curious lump of rock, in the same way that a sparrow is the same as the eagle.
K6BD definitely has a lot of Nietzsche influences, especially in the version of Atru practiced by Zoss.
This happening so fast!!!
The act of Royalty is to Cut.
Destroy the grand enemy called “I”.
You know, it’s only a matter of time before 6 Juggernaut Star turns up. Given the gravity of the fallout of a meeting between the slayer of the last king and his heir, I think it’s only appropriate that we start making bets on the outcome.
Begin with that ends all.

Zoss is looking pretty good for having been beaten about the head with the entire multiverse.
Why do I get the feeling he has ulterior motives?
So spaketh he who is fated… Tch, there is no cage for me- nor is there hope. Such is my case…

Zoss speaks about himself here. Alice-UN is Sovereign.
In the Language of Throne, the word for “King” is unisex.
True Royalty cares not for petty differencies of gender propagated by petty men.
Because king Alice-Un said so. are you going to argue with the king? Its your reincarnation.
In six postings her eyes have been five different colors. Now, none at all.
Yus!!! Alison!!! <3
It may please you to know this reads great to “Make Me Laugh” by Anthrax.
How is it that the chains of fate can be so fragile, yet bind the world with their might?
So ever after both giving away his Key (love the hole in his forehead to emphasize that), and losing his head, Zoss can still appear to his successor… serious badass there.
Nooooo! Don’t fall for the false dilemma!
Ach, damn, too late!
Yeah… she’s being corralled.
AND SOON, WE WILL SEE THESE TANGLED GROVES BECOME VERY, VERY…
CLEAN.
The Imperatrix of Fire’s death will be the first crack between the new gods and will mark the beginning of Universal war.
The current purpose of Zoss is title drop. What a reconversion.
Somewhere out there in the multiplicity a mad god is writing ever weirder and more unpronounceable chapter names for Zoss to try and fit into his prep talks. Just to fuck with him.
Who’s this guy, again?
“You hit me… Iv’e been waiting for this pain. Hurt me more Sna- I mean Allison!”
My favorite parts of this are when Allison gets tired of everybody’s shit so this panel gets an A+ from me.
Before your throne
We tasted death
For promised stars in skies we longed
Yet stars don’t shine, where darkness reigns
May fiery hope deliver us
And my heart and my soul flee with the flames
Once we were kings
And the wind gently sings
Of the lives we have lost
But once we were kings
Perhaps the Wheel has not spun its last after all. We true followers of the Old Law look forward to what The Rising King might yet achieve.
Take shape and fly, fledgdling ruler. But remenber that fate is an envyous bitch.
One wonders whether Zoss is really there, or if his Flame simply remains as a shade, bound to the King’s Key. If he really does maintain enough form for the rest of us to continue to perceive him, I have some choice questions I would ask him.
Zoss is dead but is not for the nature of reality is paradox.
Zoss is as much alive as YISUN.
Resolve and action lead to consequence and reflection.
Fuck yeah, Allison!
Look upon the twin silver wells of terrifying intent.

serious issue. Being profoundly assured that many of folks would share your

And that’s when the arguments began… We’ve got different opinions but, of course, no matter,
be it only something regular or really important, should ruin a real friendship.
In my humble opinion, which surely has the right to exist,
the next point you’ve made cannot be questioned.
