Wielder of Names 4-76
Chapter: 4
“I like thunderclouds. As soon as ye see ’em, ye can be assured when they’ll come around. It’s a damn courtesy when one rolls over the horizon, I tell thee.
It’s the thunderclouds you don’t see that get my worries all astir.”
– Splitpin, devil binder
This one has thought of something, this glorious epic is given the title “Kill six Billion Demons” And yet, there are seven kings of heaven. Does this mean that there is a chance that perhaps one of them sides with Alice and survives the coming war? If all is taken into consideration, perhaps it would be most beneficial if our great Queen Mottom were to be the one to survive, after all, the vice of Gluttony is perhaps not the worst one to take into a new future.
I think there is more to this than what Mottom is telling. She seems honest but she is only telling her side of the story.
Gee an angel that convinced Jagganoth to the cause of multiversal genocide…. Gee I sure do wonder what angel that could be…. That also employs an angel with a similar name to Jagganoth who is associated with sharp pointy things, heat and the colour red….. Hmm this just doesn’t add up folks, I am completely blindsided
Oh how the threads of fate now twist and writhe with this revelation.
And this plays false 2-Michael’s claims vis Metatron’s aim to destroy everything, which given the thoroughly cracked shell of Metatron should perhaps come as no surprise at all…
So, is Jagganoth the spritiual heir of Koss, the divine blacksmith?
I really like this in combination with the stories told underneath. Talk about subplots.
Also powerful god-beings admitting emotions that others would take as weakness. Favourite.
Only those who can admit weaknesses can be truly powerful.
Ah it pleases this fool to see the seven in their youth again if only for the great fashions of old. But it is good that six of the seven feel great fear for it is what makes them such worthy heirs and not nearly monsters of pure want and desire.
I guess the only way to defeat him would be to pry those nails from him one by one, Shadow of the Colossus style climbing onto the guy and tricking him in 30 different ways.
I hope this constitutes a ploy by the mistress of Gluttony to swallow more of the universe. There is something really disappointing to knowing these masters of the universe have been out maneuvered by their most brutish and least subtle member. Also there still seems some disconnect from the Thorn nights that siezed Zaid and the fact Jagannoth didn’t know who he was. I suspect this is the Queen of Gluttony playing her own game in co-opting Alison for her own agenda.
If you think Jagganoth is the most brutish and least subtle member you need to do some rereading. He’s no dumb thug.
None of the Seven can be called foolish. Power unmarried to cunning has a brief life expectancy when the gods make war. The cunning of Jagganoth is the cunning of war-making- of forces allocated and forces expended, of blood and fire, of coup d’etat and tectonic upheaval.
One would not seek the Red God out for tutelage in the arts of seduction, or on high matters of philosophy, to be sure. But if you would know of high energy physics, of the New Laws that govern demons, men, and servants, of the methods by which military victory can be achieved without a drop of blood shed, one could certainly be taught by worse.
You are both of course correct and I don’t mean to say he is just an unthinking thug with no depth. I’ve no doubt he has a powerful intellect. I’m sure he is a master of combat and military strategy (although having survived a “war in heaven” arguably they all must be to some extent). But I don’t think it is wrong to say he is the most brutish and least subtle of the Seven from all his appearances thus far.
So who was the herald? 6 juggernaut star or 2 michael?
So, in the end, who wanted the end?

Jagganoth meme… I couldn’t resist!
Untouchable thanks to iron nails? Please. I’ve already got a viable plan to beat him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDQOvzFetxs
You count of miracles, dear flame, but how do they work?
I can’t help but notice that mottoms speech here is basically what White Chain was worried about happening with Alison’s key: one key out of place. One crack between the six.
And all of it crumbles.
The romance is strong in this page.

jagganoths secret: EVERY MORNING I OPEN PALM SLAM A FIRED CLAY TABLET TO THE GROUND. IT’S AESMA AND THE THREE MASTERS AND RIGHT THEN AND THERE I START DOING THE MOVES NEXT TO THE MAIN CHARACTER, PREE AESMA. I DO EVERY MOVE AND I DO EVERY MOVE HARD. MAKIN WHOOSHING SOUNDS WHEN I SLAM DOWN THE UNIVERSAL ART OF VIOLENCE OR EVEN WHEN I MESS UP TECHNIQUE. NOT MANY CAN SAY THEY’VE SEEN THE SHAPE OF THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE (it is somewhat wheel-shaped). I CAN. I SAY IT AND I SAY IT OUTLOUD EVERYDAY TO THE OTHER DEMIURGES AND ALL THEY DO IS PROVE DEMIURGES CAN STILL BE IMMATURE JEKRS. AND IVE LEARNED ALL THE LINES AND IVE LEARNED HOW TO MAKE MYSELF AND MY 111,111 WORLDS LESS LONELY BY SHOUTING EM ALL. 2 HOURS INCLUDING WIND DOWN EVERY MORNIng
This is my new headcanon.
You shouted so much that you went bald?
That face is so dopey I can’t help but giggle.
Is the 30 iron nails a biblical allusion? I know Judas received 30 pieces of silver for his betrayal.
I’m getting a large Numidium vibe from that huge brass-gold giant being built.
He’s a big god.
Seems to this one that Mottom plans on pointing the blade of dear All-yisun in a direction of her own choosing. Indeed, there is little reason for the young heir to refuse by how matters are presented.
Last night Jagganoth was literally in my dreams. He sat on a throne in a desert and I brought him more nails. Also, there was a whale. This is an ill portent.
IN MY DREAM, I WAS THE STAR. ITS ME.

This has gone in a direction that I was not expecting at all.
White Chain thought Allison’s key would have pitted the Seven against each other in a free for all. But now… THERE IS JAGGANOTH!
I just have to give a shout out to that sweet skull-tank there. Truly the armies of Jagganoth will reap a bountiful harvest.
