Wielder of Names 4-74
Chapter: 4
My ignorance cast in the mold of all things absolute
I sustain forever my gaze. A stare fixed on the distant oblivion
Resting in the inverted state of being dead, non-sensory matter
As all the earth, the wind, the fire, the sea behold and learn to pity me
-Meshuggah, ‘Catch 33’
Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.
Unless you kill all other men.
and therein lay the essence of Royalty
You will find what used to be provided in great quantities expire rather quickly once all others whom said bounty relied upon are now dead.
Greed does not exist to be satisfied. It exists to devour until there is nothing left.
“Mm, what’s that smell? The sweet Key, oh how it sings to me… it’s enough to make a demiurge sick…”
Ah! The connection has been made; you’ve traded words with a Father from a distant realm, haven’t you?
This sorry dry skull is happy that it cannot smell any more the breath of an undying mummy. Divine or not, it does not carry the sweet scent of incense.
Regarding the Alt Text:
It would not surprise me at all, and I would love to know which specific bands you would recommend for my own use.
That is really a fantastic pair of panels at the end there.
The moment “I know where this is going! Excellent” transitions into “I know where this is going. Shit.”
That terrible moment when you find out the crazy rich old lady across the street has your unconscious naked boyfriend trapped somewhere in her house.
Had that happen once. The fact that I had to sneak in dressed as a maid didnt make it any simpler.
I find the image of an Aeon wearing maid attire rather hilarious, I’ll not lie.
“But that’s not what’s worrying me. It’s how to do it. These things must be done delicately… or you hurt the spell.”
Nadia looks kinda short and its kinda addorible in a wierd way *pinches ol granny cheeks*
My dear girl now would be a WONDERFUL time for you to clam up or not say yes please please please?
Dearest Alison, this is not a meal, it is a display of power.
And a valuable lesson about the one who wields it
Wielding a feast like a cudgel… I’d be impressed if I weren’t already bitterly disgusted.
Went to look up Swedish extreme technical death metal. Because…why not?
Looking for a young man? I take it that, like this wide selection of foods, Mother Om also offers a wide selection of young men?
Gluttony is more than a hunger for food. It is a lust for personal satisfaction, in all ways, up to and beyond satiation. It is prizing the obtaining and consuming above all other considerations. The taste of food and drink. The rush of hard drugs. The satisfaction of a filled coffer. The shudder of a sublime musical score. The touch of pleasurable company.
Yes, Mother Om is quite well stocked with young men (young women, too).
She certainly knows how to make use of them. … Not that way. This dry old skull is beyond saucyness. But this young man Allison is looking for might turn out to be the shackle to bind Allison, bearer of the key of kings, to Mottom’s service.
At least I would, as she seems to plan, not kill her and take the key; for such a deed, the other six would band together against her. With Allison secretly hold by a leash the others do not know (at least she thinks so), Mottom will live on and only gain power.
I must say, i wasn’t a fan of Mottom’s design at first, but out of her chair and moving around, i’m really liking it!
(⌯⊙⍛⊙)
Ah, Mottom catches on quick! Now they can arrange a trade, shake hands and this whole story will be wrapped up in a few brief pages. It’s a shame that it’s over, but what a ride it was!
I think Alice-Un is a little smarter than you give her credit for.
Do remember that her original plan was to just give the key to Mottom in exchange for her help rescuing Zaid.
Huh, weird, I can almost hear a resemblance to both Tool and System of a Down mixed in there. Never actually heard Meshuggah before.
For Royalty she sure is slow on the uptake. That particular 2+2 could have been made in the first few minutes, even without Alice-Un saying anything.
I LOVE Mottom’s facial expressions here.
Nope, Allison merely thinks she is. Young kings often rationalize their desire for conquest.
Ah, gluttony. The most dangerous of the Sins, for it alone can cause famine.
Nay, any vice may deprive others through its indulgence. The envious and proud may salt the earth where they walk, to spite those who might use the land against them. The lustful may scour the land to provide gifts for their paramours. The greedy may hoard food in fear of the time of want that they, themselves, hasten into being. And the slothful shall sow no seed at all, nor allow any other to reap the harvest.
Ah, the amusements of the mighty, to think that hunger alone can produce hunger.
Gluttony can produce starvation, to be sure. But it requires Pride, Wrath, or Greed to truly set the Black Horseman on his way.
Since i could not find anything profound to write: Am i truly the first to gaze upon this page? Praise YisUn!
Be careful, Allison, lest you become the appetiser – and not the main course.
I pity the spy chief she was talking about.
Mottom is so disturbed that her right eye opened! Or would that be a continuity error?
Well it stayed open during the encounter with the other gods, and here it only opens where Allison can’t see it… maybe it is yet another mask?
“I’m here to find a boyfriend and KILL SIX BILLION DEMONS, and I’m all out of boyfriend” *stab* *stab* *stab*
<– What I predict Alison's response will be.
