Wielder of Names 2-27
Chapter: 2
“Ever sang with a Devil before? You’ll be completely clobbered drunk or stone cold dead before the fifth verse. Which … I’m never sure.”
– Mars Pallatrix, Belligerent Knight

What I am curious about is the numbering of the verses of the spectator devils. The first three are numbered but the fourth is labeled “C”. This must be some significance as the text for this page states that one is quite in trouble by the fifth verse of a Devil’s song. Anyway Allison has drank her first round (second?) and the fifth verse is next, can’t wait to see what will happen.
‘C’ means it’s the chorus
Not to burst anyone’s bubble (The collective expression of everyone on that last line can be summed up by those two demons to Cio’s right methinks), but Cio might just be stuck in song and tallying off the only attribute worth mentioning in Ally’s defense.
….Totally not saying this to steal Cio for myself……nope. 😐
Nah, she totally has a thing for Allison, one of her literal first reactions upon hearing Allison had a boyfriend was disgust. Plus – Abaddon just reblogged a post referring to her as lesbian, which means, odds are it’s canon she’s only into girls.
Cio is some flavor of bisexual, it’ll definitely become clearer in a few pages
Three drinks for the Angel-Knights above Throne.
Seven drinks for the Dark Lords in their house of bones.
Nine drinks for Demons and Men doomed to fight.
One drink for Zoss and his dark crown.
In a land of nowhere where the shadows die.
One drink to name them all, one drink to bind them all,
One drink to find them all and in their masks tie them.
In a land of nowhere where the darkness lie.
Anybody else reminded of animated Disney films?
Now I wish actual drinking looked and sounded this epic.
“Cheating is traditional”
And yet they still use mugs proportional to the drinker. I /really/ like the devils.
Man, I love everything about this comic and your art, except possibly your human faces – I think it’s getting better, but they sort of hit the uncanny valley for me? Anyway, this is excellent.
Abbaddon, what is the beat and tune of the song?
This is beautiful. Also the first time I’ve gotten to thinking that this isn’t best as a comic. I’d love to see this scene animated, particularly in the style of the old Hobbit movie.
That blue devil on the bottom right knows what’s what.
If by the time this whole singing arc is done, and somebody does not make a musical version of it, that sounds like a proper drinking song, heads will roll.
sheds a tear of outraged joy
will Vladock see the ploy
I went with Sea Shanty for this on this read threw.
