I am not so sure that Allison will be quick to rescue 82, bargaining with Devils in their home territory must be time consuming, especially in a timeless plane like the Void. (Plus I’m assuming most of us want to see more of the Devils and possibly Oskar)
I mentioned this last time it came up, but this page drives it home — I would be cautious about assuming that 82 is a “man-angel” or identifies as male. Apparently angels are not supposed to be gendered at all; this would mean that if 82 identifies as female, it’s a transgression of some sort, which they would want to deny.
That would explain what Omun Vash was getting at when he said that “they’d all heard rumors”; people have heard that 82 has adopted a gender, while 82 was trying to hide it. My reading is that this page is meant to reveal that 82 has identified as female (hence why the climax of 2 Michael’s speech is “inspid gender”, followed by the demand to remove the helmet.)
In any case, though, I don’t think we’ve actually seen any reason to think 82 identifies as male (especially given that angels aren’t supposed to have gender-identities at all.) Given that ‘gender’ is a dirty word for them, denying a female identification definitely doesn’t mean that we can assume 82 is male.

82 perceives “lady” as an insult.
White Chain reacts strongly to being referred to as a lady because despite being from a non-sexed race they are referred to as “brothers”. Yglorba is correct, she is a woman, and her form adjusts to the identity she recognizes yet tries to hide.
Basically, I got the same feeling.
Insipid gender not insipid female.
And it also uses “human” as an insult to describe her as well. She is far too human, appearing human and choosing to lower herself to having a gender like them.
..Damn. That last panel is beautiful.
i wonder if their entire bodies are actually this blue energy, and the apparent ‘skin’ is just a shell.
It *is* stated somewhere that the angel bodies we see are sort of like tanks. Driven by self-contained nuclear explosions well-versed in the art of death.
That is one good looking self-contained nuclear explosion versed in millennia-old martial arts.
This is fascinating, so angels making contact with different beings shapes their incorporeal flame like bodies? Thorn Knights must look rather ghastly with their helmets removed. Now I know what my first KSBD fanart will be of! HAhahaha!!! (I actually did a scribble of Incubus but I don’t think it counts)

Even ageless Prime Angels rebel against gender roles. Nice.
No so much that they are rebel against “gender roles,” but “gender” as a whole. It’s simply a non-issue (or at least is should be) to most angels (I assume White Chain is in a minority here). Think about it: if you were a near-primordial entity of swirling energy and all-seeing eyes whose sole purpose is to uphold Order, then whether you’re a man, woman, or jellyblob is just becomes inconsequential.
My, my. I do see reason in what Michael says, but I must empathise with White Chain and side with Allison. This certainly is interesting.
Michael wants the ring so he can beat Sauron and rule middle earth with righteous order.

It’s yet to be seen what atonement will be expected of 82 White Chain, but following the lost key to its last known location to retrieve it is not unreasonable a guess. I’m curious as to White Chain’s opinion on the goings-on of an unconquered world, so to me it would be an intriguing development.
For a second I thought Michael had cut the top of 82’s head off and that was the result.

The “Contained Nuclear Explosion” comment makes sense, with that mushroom cloud fro, 82 sure has a hell of a stylist.

For all his great misanthropy, 2 is so much like Man in his lust for power and control. His is a will to ruin, though he is blind to it~
Man is like God, Michael is like God. You are what you hate, seems to be a theme with some of the angels we see. The effeminate 82 has a womanly appearance beneath their helmet. Possible theme or possible delusion. That does make me question 23 and their behavior though…
Perfect time for the triumphant return of Cio! She bursts in, makes a few pointed remarks that leave Michael sputtering like Redd Foxx on a bad day, and drags poor little 82 off, indicating he/she has more important things to take care of.
Dear fellow, I patently advise you to reconsider such assumptions regarding these creatures. They are proud and terribly humorless, our dear Cio would be powerless, and they have no kindness towards diversion.
No, no. I do hope that our favorite thief remains safely hidden away from the concordance else she disappear in a haze of red. Truly, that would be an ignoble end for such a vibrant soul.
