Just as Mammon rose by killing his own, so to do his servants, venerating their god in holy blood and in so doing gain some of their holy scars, driven not only by devotion, but by greed for death.
Pity then the fool who would take up arms against the servants, for they shall face not mere priests and accountants, but some of the most dangerous warriors in all the worlds. A force that is dangerous even to angels themselves, and seemingly as endless as an ocean.
So listen not to the servants claims that Yre is a peaceful land, for beneath the surface it is stained in the blood of countless servants and fools who sought the wealth of Yre’s vault.

Also, it seems Nadia may have underestimated the fight she’s in for, as I would wager 00001 can draw straight from Mammon’s key, to the point she’s almost as strong as her god once was. And thus, Nadia faces not a senile old dragon, but the an avatar of that Dragon’s raw power. Along with a slightly dented army of insane, masochistic priest accountants, greedy for violence and more holy scars.
Well, we can assume she’s channeling a significant portion of the Dragon’s power if she doesn’t become some sort of vegetable matter in the first 1/2 second of the fight…
By my count there’s one ship for each of us and they’ve managed to break into an infinite dimension by sheer force of will…

That style is so last-century.
This panel feels really out of the blue and uncomfortably…fetish-y? I don’t know this comic has had character designs head in this general direction before but it’s never made me kind of viscerally uncomfortable in the way that this one has like no other character has quite this sheer LEVEL of sexualization on top of their ritual mutilation and it’s just really, deeply discomforting and not in a positive way like some of the uncomfortable content has been so far.
No, I agree. I get what the author is going for, but it doesn’t work. With all the “fanservice” we just had with half-naked Cio and Allison, this projects a feel of “everyone is sexualized, even the seemingly non-sexual character”. It reminds me of a really sexist pulpy post-apoc comic I used to read. I get that this is probably meant as an homage to all that over-the-top fiction, but I think it’s an homage to some tropes that really feel like they exist for the author’s personal satisfaction.
I fully agree with you here. If this image of 001 was the first thing I saw about this comic there is no way I’d keep reading. I mean it’s also just kind of silly looking, but still starts to make me rethink other parts of the comic.

Like, not even the mortification of the flesh part for me – that makes sense with their god and all – but literally everything else about her in that panel is so extremely porny.
I also really hate how this page is making me reevaluate other parts of the comic. There are lots of bits that didn’t seem too bad at the time, but in light of this… 😐

Also agree. This is the first page I’ve seen and thought “wait, what now?” So many pages of great character design and awesome female characters, and now we get chastity-belt nipple-spiked fetish nun? It made me sad. But fortunately I’m writing this on a re-read, and have never had that problem again in this otherwise excellent comic.
Context for viewers reading this later: This page originally had a much more revealing design for 000001’s outfit, which is why people were making comments about how it felt uncomfortably sexualized for a character that didn’t give off that type of vibe. The current design you see now was a revision in response to these complaints.
