Second read through and i just noticed that. At every arch of the marks all line up with Auntie Maya’s seat. Yet, every frame that showed Maya, she always had her back turned from the fight.
Beware the one who seems to sit idle in battle.
I was thinking his interests were more along the lines of emptying newly unattended pockets than butchery. In fact, I wasn’t aware even he served meat with his noodles. He is, however, in an area I suspect such flesh could find a buyer without too much difficulty.
I am just boggled by your art and storytelling. Took me awhile to realize that the clear space around Auntie Maya’s seat was surrounded by short arcs radiating outward.
I dare hypothesise that it is not a typical mendicant knight who has grown fat due to the terror people have at NOT giving her charity. I would also think that such a proverb as she provides would better fit a belligerent knight. I both look forward to and dread seeing more of her, she gives all impression of being one that only allows the world to exist at her mercy.
One of my favorite proverbs! At first I thought that its use in this setting might grant it new meaning, but I believe the sentiment remains the same. It is not god that you must kill, but your flawed perception of perfection. The god you meet is the god you know, and you must challenge what you think you know, kill the god, that you may continue to learn and grow. There is no perfection; your potential for betterment is eternal.
Big momma ain’t got no time for no punk-ass god in her house. Mmmmmm-hmmmmmm.
If there were a way to represent snapping your fingers while waving both your snapping hand and head from side to side on the internet, this would be where I’d put such a thing.
Not the meaning of the BUDDHIST proverb, but it’d be foolish not to consider that Mrs. Murder The Gods And Topple Their Thrones doesn’t mean it literally
OH MY GOD. I used to love your comic back on the MSPA forums and was so sad when you had to put it on hold! This is amazing, I’m so happy you came back to it! This just made my month. The art is even more beautiful too! THIS IS THE BEST THING I LOVE YOU 4EVA
Wise words indeed. This Beggar Knight intrigues me, as her motives are as yet unclear. How would she affect the dialectic? Is she a force for, or against the antithesis?
… It’s like every character just gets progressively more badass, middle fingers thrust in the face of god.
If this comic had a soundtrack, I’d break my neck headbanging.
Actually? This page is like an Allison-less distillation of what the beautiful KSBD universe is.
Well, of the after-party scenes anyways. And you know what an after-party is!
CSI: Throne time.
Now, THAT’S a procedural I’d binge-watch!
Great work.
I totally agree with you
Seems like all combatants had the wisdom to not thread too close to Beggar Knight Auntie Maya.
Or if those deep slashes are an indication: they figured it out soon enough.
One would think, but look closely at the floor in the last panel.
Those cut marks all center one point.

Please tell me this guy isn’t thinking, “Hey, free meat!”

Awed (odd) and Amazed
Indeed, love this story, love the art, love the background it is set against, it makes me want to see a dwarf fortress mod based on it actually.
Follow the fools, take the treasure they are blind to.
It can be tiresome when they demand you explain why you’re picking up what they see as trash.
I’d say protection of the stand was worth it’s weight in noodles.

Or, as it should be interpreted, ‘beware the swordsman whose blade you cannot see’.
“Beware the swordsman who carries no blade.”
Why? If he’s stupid enough to lose his sword I should be safe from him. 😛
You are assuming 1) they lost their sword and 2) they had a sword they had lost 3) they need a sword.
Why depend on a weapon that can be lost or taken?
Why call oneself a swordsman when one neither needs nor carries a sword?
Famous last thoughts.
If you were to face such a swordsman as this, I believe these words would describe the ensuing fight perfectly.
“Omae wa mou shindeiru.”
Big momma ain’t got no time for no punk-ass god in her house. Mmmmmm-hmmmmmm.

That is not the meaning of that proverb; but sure, why not?
Ah, you speak of the Mudra of Ultimate Sass. I’m sure there are some images of it somewhere in this web-…
Not the meaning of the BUDDHIST proverb, but it’d be foolish not to consider that Mrs. Murder The Gods And Topple Their Thrones doesn’t mean it literally
Excuse me, foolish not to consider that she DOES mean it literally
it’s called a Z-snap

The fighting is over and the hunters have left. Time to see if the dead hold anything of value.
She reminds me of a character back on 3-44…
I’d say this can’t more true. And it is indeed she.
I just noticed that the blue devil character has a hand radio taped to his head.
Wise words indeed. This Beggar Knight intrigues me, as her motives are as yet unclear. How would she affect the dialectic? Is she a force for, or against the antithesis?
Is it just me or does Auntie Maya kinda look like Aesma? Their names are even kinda the same.
This story reminds me of Clive Barker, yes THE Clive Barker. You are a great artist.
Did Auntie let her shadow fight for her while she ate her noodles?
I feel like she’s related to the Conquering King somehow.
When one travels upon The Road, one will inevitably meet Gods, Sages, and Kings.
The Gods will demand your worship. The Sages will demand that you accept their teachings. The Kings will demand your obedience.
Rip their flesh and feast upon it. Crack their bones, and drink the marrow within. Violence is Divinity.
I see Zoidberg found his true calling in noodles.
This comic is incredibly enjoyable and I’ll be waiting eagerly for the next update.
Hey, she plagiarized a Zen koan!
It appears two blade like objects are strapped to the waist of the swordsmen, No?
