Kind of weird to see Cio to one side making dinner instead of taking part in the war council.

I don’t really get the feeling that Solomon is the kind of guy to arbitrarily kill a guest for not having a use if he is not a threat. More likely to just tell him to gtfo. I feel trusting the world devouring capitalist worm that Solomon is going to kill what’s-his-name without checking what type of person he is is foolish. I like the idea of rushing in to help because no one else would, but is there really a threat to Solomon doing his little tournament?

Strange, it is obvious to me that our Lady Gogagog is the very personification of all working together for the common good, quite the opposite of capitalism.
Lovely as Nyave and her sentiments are, I don’t see that Zaid is in such danger that they must rescue him this instant, nor how entering in the tournament improves their chances. Wouldn’t sneaking up and grabbing him in the middle of the night be a better plan? Oh, I forgot, Allison and crew aren’t big on planning.
I love the fact that Cio is just short enough that she needs to stand on one book to use the counter.

I think the most obvious course of action would be to just tell Solomon what Gog Agog is planning. Sure, he might get rid of Zaid if he stops being useful, but knowing about Gog’s plan won’t make him any less so, and it’s not like he’d have reason to distrust Alison for revealing it to him.
The second most obvious to me would be to made him feel bad about someone getting hurt and then trick him into volunteering to donate blood for a transfusion mid-tournament, thus letting whoever performed it lay claim to drawing a drop of blood from him.
To clarify, I only mean that he might get rid of Zaid as far as the Alison and team know. Personally, I suspect he’d be more than willing to let him hang around the palace with his sons until the suns burn out.
