Here in the days to come, we shall see THE EPIC SHOWDOWN BETWEEN THE DIAMOND HIMSELF, SOLOMOOOOOON DAAAAAAAAVID AND THE LOOORD OF RAGE, JAGGANOTH!
COME DOWN TO RAYUBA WHERE THIS EPIC FIGHT WILL RENDER THE WORLD ONCE AGAIN COMPLETELY BARREN!
Do we know how, exactly, Jadis came to be encased? I can’t remember reading anything about it here, but I know there’s a lot of information on the Tumblr and probably patreon that I haven’t had time to dig into.
She seems to be one of the least aggressive/dickwaving of the demiurges, probably because if she’s omniscient she can see the outcomes of that and finds other ways to get the outcomes she wants.
Or possibly it’s just that being stuck in a crystal brick makes it hard to whip it out and slap someone upside the head with it.
In any case, she doesn’t trigger immediate anger in Solly. He takes her seriously but doesn’t assume she’ll be an immediate threat. I can’t help but think that if Mottom suddenly appeared she’d get a much chillier welcome.
42 Fragments the Universe Beyond All Reintegration
Abaddon said, on Tumblr, that Jadis was mutilated by viewing the shape of the universe. He didn’t refer to her glass (or ice?) case. When Mottom remembered the seven before Jagganoth had his angel episode, Jadis was pictured not encased. Possibly, the case is what keeps her alive after her ordeal.
Just judging by her hair and clothes she may well be floating in a liquid-filled case, so maybe embalming fluid of a sort perhaps. That or zero G.
If her case is hermetically sealed then she doesn’t need to breathe anyway, to keep herself alive (albeit she apparently sincerely wishes to die), so for it to be fluid-filled would not be a great leap. The centurion’s cape shows no refraction of light through it tho’.
Yeah I think her having to whisper and use pictures projected onto the glass is based on the agony of having been twisted by viewing the raw universe but being omniscient enough to know that she cannot die just yet as she’s a part of future events that she’s already aware of. Also it’s definitely a solid block not liquid as I think even the movement of floating would be excruciating for her.
It is foretold in the prophesies of ______ that before their lord and master ______, ______ finally vanquishes ______ enemies and ascends to the throne celestial, ______ shall grant all of ______ faithful long and prosperous lives, all ills shall be cured and good health shall be enjoyed by everyone, that prophesy is now fulfilled.
The false god of ______ has blessed ______ followers with supernatural health and stamina, this sets a bad example for your faithful whom have not received a similar benefit from their worship, thus this unseemly generosity on ______ ‘s part must be stopped.
Does that include Ki Rata? Because that sound she’s making could be her normal labored speech. Or it could be her doing a Ki Rata pre-asskicking inhale.
I can’t think of anything Salami Dave would be more afraid of.
Well, Ki Rata is a martial art centering around breath control, so I assume you do it exactly the same way you breathe while encased in a rectangular prism.
If it was ki rata it would be far too late to evacuate the city, and solomon would know it. And ki rata also appears to require movement in addition to breathing.
I may be speculating, but I think it’s been a LONG time since Solomon had to expend any effort/had anybody actually move in the face of his time freeze/super speed combo. It *feels* fair to say that he’s had to expend some resources he doesn’t usually expend in the course of the fight.
I think Jadis wants to die finally. She is the embodiment of Sloth and she’s either here to wreck shit, or just watch Jagganoth wreck shit and hope she gets stuck in the crossfire.
You’ve got Jadis all wrong. She saw the shape of the universe – the only Demiurge to do it, which even a goddess had failed to do – and has wanted to die ever since but cannot. She’s not lazy, she’s the most accomplished sorcerer of the lot. But it’s not clear if she’s willing to fight any more.
Alas Jadis did go from arguably being the 2nd most powerful demiurge, due indeed to her erstwhile accomplished sorcery, to now the 2nd least powerful, upon being broken by seeing the Shape. One cannot post a link to said snippet, but one does remember reading it somewhere KSBD ad rem.
The Lady of Infinite Repose is surely the allegory for sloth after that and her subsequent encubement, even though she’s obviously still mentally fairly active, and is still the Bearer of the Word ‘Mind’ after all.
I hope we’ll get to learn why Jadis, who can teleport with the best, couldn’t find a way to use her powers for self termination, if that’s really her greatest desire.
When Solomon David speaks in caps you better listen.
It’s fine, she’s just here to give you a Spirit Orb as a reward for completing A Major Test of Strength, and then disintegrate.

Well at least this will stop everyone obsessing about White Chain’s new tits.
I can just see Abbadon thinking “FFS, how can I stop this mob banging on about tits? I know! I’ll nuke Rayuba. That’ll work!
And as some of the responses have shown, that didn’t work.
Death is a certainty. A well-sculpted chest is not. And if I had to choose, I wouldn’t choose death, that’s for certain.
Calling it now. Mammon and Mottom are both dead already.
Agreed, but I’d add Jadis to the list too… We’re just waiting for her to fall apart now.

Her garb does move tho’, and earrings (or disappear entirely), and mala. Perhaps the Witch in Glass is just levitating herself.
I can’t stop hearing Avery Brooks when Solomon David speaks.
I wonder if Solomon can understand what she’s trying to say.
It may just be dust, but it looks like Jadis’ ‘unbreakable’ glass is busted off in a few places, almost as if she rushed here while under attack.
Test comment
Hrmm… Test sat.
Oh my god! HERE SHE IS!!!!
Solomon in panic mode. I never thought I’d see it.
A dire portent.

(Feel free to fill in the blanks)
It does speak well of Solomon that his first order (to what?) was evacuate the city not engage incoming.
This is leadership.
The next update will just be a two-page spread of Jagganoth charging in, bellowing “LEEEEROOOOY JENKINNNSSSSS!”
Jadis is supposed to know, literally, everything.
Does that include Ki Rata? Because that sound she’s making could be her normal labored speech. Or it could be her doing a Ki Rata pre-asskicking inhale.

Fear? In MY Solomon? It’s more likely than you think.
hhhhhhhhhhhhhhow’s it going, Salami Dave?
Shit. Jagganoth knew he could take Solomon if he wasn’t at 100%. And right now, he’s *not.*
This is why you don’t fight at tournaments people…
What makes you conclude that Solomon is not at 100%? That little slap on the face? This guy can move suns.
I may be speculating, but I think it’s been a LONG time since Solomon had to expend any effort/had anybody actually move in the face of his time freeze/super speed combo. It *feels* fair to say that he’s had to expend some resources he doesn’t usually expend in the course of the fight.
Looks like the war just kicked into full throttle…
So the witch of glass has arrived. But I suspect she is only a messenger, not the threat itself.
RED SUN.
RED SUN
OVER PARADISE.
How many more times must I hit refresh before I find out what happens next!?
Abbadon warned us that the next update would be both delayed and multipage.
I confess that I, too, am abusing my F5 key.
Yueh! A million refreshes were not enough for Yueh!
Lately I’ve been considering how much Yueh’s sin resembles Jessica’s: they both sacrificed all their training and all their friends for their spouse.
i’m pretty sure we’re about to see jadis and solomon FIGHT JAGGANOTH
like AT LEAST those three
and i could not be more excited and/or scared, i can’t tell

I feel like Jadis is the embodiment of Envy. She envies mortals and their ability to just frickin’ drop dead for any and every reason.
I hope we’ll get to learn why Jadis, who can teleport with the best, couldn’t find a way to use her powers for self termination, if that’s really her greatest desire.
Yes, one can imagine a number of truly dangerous place she could port herself into if suicide was her aim. Worth a try, anyway.
This is gonna be Fun
Evacuate the city !
I’m infected by Gog-Agog !
Stop, this Jag’ is killing me !
Hey dr Jadis let the Demiures drag me underground !
