You know, the previous comic was giving me vibes of happy ending, the gang’s all here, we’re tying up the loose ends, everyone rides off into the sunset type of thing. I was wondering “Huh, is the story gonna end soon or something?”
And then this lands in the middle of peace like a ticking backpack nuke. “Uhh, never mind!”
42 Fragments the Universe Beyond All Reintegration
It will be the first book with a proper cliffhanger-ending. (I don’t count Allison’s return to the void at the end of book 1.) Unless, of course, we’re heading for an early conclusion to the whole comic in a few pages time; hope not.
Unrelated to anything, but the wound to Solomon David’s cheek appears to have disappeared between this page and the last.
His pride doesn’t seem to have been permanently wounded.
I didn’t feel like it would be so easy. I’m not sure why, but every page before this one felt like something was missing. Everything was going too fast and too smoothly, I felt like something was about to happen to disrupt this ever since WC hit Solomon’s pretty face.
It seemed like there wasn’t going to be a proper conclusion a it went on until Jadis, the herald for something big, red and menacing, came down to do herald stuff.

Book Seven : Drona Parva

“Dhritarashtra said, ‘How, indeed, did that battle take place when at dead of night Vikartana’s son, Karna, and the Rakshasa Ghatotkacha encountered each other ?
What aspect did that fierce Rakshasa then present ?
Asked by me, describe all this, for thou art skilled in narration, O Sanjaya !’
“Sanjaya said, ‘Of blood-red eyes, Ghatotkacha was of gigantic form. His face was of the hue of copper. His belly was low and sunken. The bristles on his body all pointed upwards. His head was green. His ears were like arrows. His cheek-bones were high. His mouth was large, extending from ear to ear. His teeth were keen, and four of these were high and pointed. His tongue and lips were very long and of a coppery hue. His brows were long-extending. His nose was thick. His body was blue, and neck red.
Tall as a hill, he was terrible to behold. Of gigantic frame, gigantic arms, and gigantic head, he was endued with great might. Ugly and of hard limbs, the hair on his head was tied upwards in a frightful shape. …. He had on his body a gigantic armour of brass of great effulgence.
His car was decked with a hundred tinkling bells, and on his standard waved numerous blood-red banners.
Of prodigious proportions, and of the measure of a nalwa, that car was covered with bear-skins. Equipped with all kinds of mighty weapons, it possessed a tall standard and was adorned with garlands, having eight wheels, and its clatter resembled the roar of the clouds. His steeds were like infuriated elephants, and possessed of red eyes; of terrible aspect, they were variegated in hue, and endued with great speed and might. …. A carnivorous and awful vulture of blood-red body perched on it. ….
Frightened by him, O Bharata, all thy troops trembled like the surging waves of the ocean. Beholding that frightful Rakshasa of horrible eyes advancing … all the kings there were struck with fear. Terrified at the leonine roars uttered by Ghatotkacha, the elephants passed urine ( and ) all the combatants trembled with fear. Then there fell on all sides a thick rain of rocks and stones poured incessantly by the Rakshasas, who had, in consequence of midnight, became inspired with greater strength. Iron wheels and Bhusundis, and darts, and lances and spears and Sataghnis and axes also began to fall incessantly.
Beholding that fierce and terrible battle, all the kings, as also thy sons and the combatants, fled away in fear. Only one amongst them, Karna, proud of the power of his weapons, and feeling a noble pride, trembled not.”

42 Fragments the Universe Beyond All Reintegration
Many commentators suggest that the red glow is to do with Jagganoth. I think it’s not that specific. I suggest that Jadis has shown Solomon pictures of his capital in flames and that’s what scares him most.
Solomon’s last great pose is as protector. If he can’t protect his people, then what possible good is he?
If there’s going to be a god battle at the start of book 5, then I’m guessing that it’s not Solomon vs Jagganoth, which seems premature in story-telling terms. Solomon vs. Incubus? Solomon might win but destroy the planet in the process.
Solomon Vs Jagganoth with Jaggers winning wouldn’t feel off pacing wise. Having SD (who is powerful), just get murdered by jaggers and/or Gog agog seems like a pretty likely way to show off big J’s power, and hammer home exactly how toast our team is (they didn’t even stand a chance against SD… really)
So many of the demiurges in one location at once…this will be a bloodbath. Solomon David, Gog-Agog, Jadis, with Jagganoth likely on his way. Incubus around in his way as well. Allison and crew better scoot.
If Jadis only contacts Solomon now because he needed to be humbled to even listen to her, his own unwavering belief in his ruler qualities and autocratic divine right to rule sovereignly has possibly doomed Rayuba. If he wasn’t too proud to listen to Jadis, she could’ve warned him long before.
This may be the most amount of demigures in one spot outside of a council meeting in a long time. Solomon, Jadis, Gog-Agog (and her pals Gog-Agog, Gog-Agog, Gog-Agog, etc.), and Jagganoth. Incubus, Mammoth, and Mottom will make an appearance.
Whatever the size of the roster, Death comes to Rayuba.
I don’t like the look of what appear to be boils instantaneously appearing on his skin (to speak nothing of the evident fear from a man so powerful). I fear a very cheaty, non-punchable attack is about to happen.
Here comes Mick Jagganoth! He’s really, really old but he can still dance.

My apologies. This was intended to be a regular reply. I’m not entirely sure why this ended up as a reply to your comment.

I have waited so long to see Solomon make an “oh shit” expression like this but in light of the reason I don´t think it´s worth it.
Gotta love the expression on the Royal Guard in the background. He’s definitely regretting leaving his bunk today.
I misread what iceblock girl said as the hiss of a minecraft creeper.
Gonna be a big boom in any event. At least creeper explosions are survivable…
The thing with a Deus Ex Machina is that you really need to have the right Deus.

Something tells me that Gog-Agog’s plans have yet to finish…
Now they’ll really have to address the elephant in the room.
So many of the demiurges in one location at once…this will be a bloodbath. Solomon David, Gog-Agog, Jadis, with Jagganoth likely on his way. Incubus around in his way as well. Allison and crew better scoot.
Looks like Solomon-David wasn’t quite ready to jump, but now he’s being pushed anyway.
would honestly hate to be jadis, imagine getting an itch on your nose or something
And the blow of the hammer shatters the diamond, whose rigidity and hardness was mistaken for strength.
Solomon never became the True King that he dreamed of being.
But he may yet die a Hero.
Sound the horn and call the cry. How Many of Them Can We Make Die!
Did she slide in, fly in, or pop in? I can’t quite tell.

Two words: da fuq?
Solomon David’ssweat pumps have shifted into high speed.

That’s sweat. He just broke out in one, from realizing what’s about to happen.
