When the blade cuts, it transforms what it cuts into something new. A swordsman who wishes to change need not fear the blade, only that it may be wielded in a manner that isn’t aligned to the swordsman’s will.
Or rather, just because something is a lie doesn’t mean it lacks POWER. States, money, and gender are all real, but only in the sense we make them real by treating them as such. They are useful fictions, but fiction nonetheless.
Both Het and the Stave are no different. We would do well to remember when such things are lies, and when such lies nonetheless hold power.
Sounds like you’re thinking of the staff of UN-Medam, chief of the gods of law. Het’s stave was her weapon of choice when she was a watchman, & carried it still later as the doorkeeper of YISUN’s speaking house.
Did not Allison give her hope? And the courage to fight for what she believes in, even in the face of insurmountable odds and tho it may seem totally futile? Is hope not one of the major things she is currently displaying?
Ah, things are unfolding as I had predicted, with both the control needed for Ki Rata and White Chains’ use of Krayu Mat being unreplicable from the emperor. Satisfying.
The simple act of being in two places at once is an incredible boon. Even the emperor’s time stopping power is merely the illusion of it. Whether or not White Chains succeeds in actually drawing a drop of blood from the emperor, I think she has come closer than anyone else in a long, long time. Perhaps ever.
Rare and–I’d imagine–difficult. Though of this art I can confidently say Thorn Knight 6 Juggernaut Star Scours the Universe is a master of the highest degree. She doth teach the herrings to be red.
Indeed, even one’s Igneous brother is expressing surprise at seeing it. One fears for one’s sister’s umbilicus; Juggernaut Star may not have had one between her vessels, but she was inhabiting those 2 or 3 vessels, whereas White Chain has only one.
Rare for it to happen at all, completely insane for one to actually FIGHT with both at once in the middle of a deathmatch. There’s a reason Allison is actually reconsidering Solomon’s invincibility right now.
Also, can I just say how much I love that White Chain has basically just weaponized her own dysphoria into a lethal and unheard-of martial art?! Abbadon will never cease to surprise me with his creativity.
This would be the natural spot in Abbadon’s storytelling for Solomon to, like a proper fighting tournament antagonist, to feel momentarily pressed and perhaps even show a sign of weakness before explosively dealing a setback to our hero. White Chain may or may not continue fighting after that point.
I pray however, for a subversion where Solomon’s concentration is broken by a single drop of rain, allowing White Chain to score that blow that shatters his already bruised ego.
If you punch your enemy ten times and draw not a drop of blood, punch eleven times.
If you punch your enemy one hundred times and draw not a drop of blood, punch one hundred and one times.
If you punch your enemy one thousand times and draw not a drop of blood, punch one thousand and one times.
If you punch your enemy ten thousand times and draw not a drop of blood, punch ten thousand and one times.
If you punch your enemy one hundred thousand times and draw not a drop of blood, punch him one hundred thousand and one times.
If you punch your enemy one million times, punch one million and one times.
If you punch your enemy ten million times and draw not a drop of blood, punch ten million and one times.
If you punch your enemy one hundred million times and draw not a drop of blood, punch one hundred million and one times.
If you punch your enemy one billion times and draw not a drop of blood, punch him one billion and one times.
I wonder how much is known about Ki Rata by those other than its practitioners. I wonder if there are any angels that know it. I would think it a difficult secret to keep from ones so long-lived, and that someone might consider an angel trustworthy enough to learn it. Vigilant Gaze apparently knows some about it, the question is how much.
Know of, perhaps, but not know. Angels are great and terrifying practitioners of violence, but ki rata depends almost wholly on the breath and the particularities of a living body forever outside the experience of angels.
I’m wise to you Mr. Comic. After getting my hopes up, It’s about to all come crashing down.
::looks at ceiling with the hole Allicio put in it::
Something’s gonna come crashing down…
Oh! Did they ever patch that up before the rain started falling?
Anyone else think it’s weird Gog-Agog has been absent so long?
Gog Agog hasn’t been absent. She lives rent-free in my head.
Literally.
They live among us.
You need to start sniffing Raid.
A reminder, Vajra can be both translated as “Diamond” and as “Thunderbolt.”
Vajra is both immovable object and unstoppable force.
A blade sharpened on both edges leaves twice as many places for one to cut oneself. Caution.
When the blade cuts, it transforms what it cuts into something new. A swordsman who wishes to change need not fear the blade, only that it may be wielded in a manner that isn’t aligned to the swordsman’s will.
A tool which makes new things from what it cuts is a chisel, or a file, or a saw, not a sword.
A sword does not transform anything into a new form, it turns the living into the dead, a very old form indeed.
a sword is a tool which builds kingdoms, states and empires, all of which are founded primarily on their capacity to end lives

is it a tripping hazard?
if it is, is there appropriate hazard warning signage?
Trick queſtions.
Het poſſeſsed no ſuch ſtave, for Het was never real.
yes, but plenty of fictional objects are tripping hazards. that is no reason for negligence.
Tripping may be hazardous but sometimes the reward is worth the danger.
We appear to have tripped on the staff already.

ABADDON PLEASE DO NO GIVE ME HOPE I CANT HAVE IT RIGHT NOW
*Hawkeye thousand yards stare intensifies*
…you aren’t going to let this angel’s trick get a drop of your blood, right Solomon?
(…Seriously, this ice contract is the best business deal I’ve had in years…)
White Chain casually inventing a new technique for a martial art long since stagnant and completely. Oh, we stan.
White Chain sent Solomon from mocking to blocking, we do stan
She has no hope of winning, but she gave up hope a while ago
Did not Allison give her hope? And the courage to fight for what she believes in, even in the face of insurmountable odds and tho it may seem totally futile? Is hope not one of the major things she is currently displaying?
She found a new hope, of something more substantial than martial victory.

“Does she actually have a shot at this?”
Ha ha, no.
Depends on how you define a “shot.”
Could she possibly survive? No.
Could she achieve something worthwhile? Yes.
I desperately hope it is, yet I doubt even this will be enough to chip Solomon’s Diamond.

THE SURPRISE “DOUBLE MUDA-MUDA”
Voyage, Journey, both warriors of eachothers path.
One throws it’s fishing net, the other its fishing spear, but both throw their heart in the lake.
The blood flows either way. Always. Forever. In the lake.
Journey, Voyage. So cold is the blood in the lake.
The waves will devour both boat and man, by and by.
Is it rare for an angel to manipulate their shell and their soul independently?

I’m still not confident White Chain is going to win. There is a reason why these seven have ruled for this long.
Honestly we would be fine if Solomon ended up replacing Allison as the main character. Just imagine it – Kill Six Billion Dissidents.
Ni hao, Kill Six Billion Dissidents! The “Two Systems, One Empire” is no more on Throne

Prediction: White Chain falters, Solomon believes this is the opportunity to counter attack, but it’s a faint. White Chain delivers the single wound.
And then nonsense occurs. That one isn’t so much a prediction as it is a pattern.
