Not Jadis, I believe, but Gog-Agog. Each of the Demiurges and their representatives wear the colors they first appeared in. It seems we now have a face to put to him/her? Although I doubt its authenticity, considering what it seems to be going through in panels 3 and 4.
I wonder if there’s any special significance to the colors the Demiurges choose to represent themselves with? Or if it’s just a special self-affectation. I suppose when one takes up the title of god, that’s reason enough to do ANYTHING.
And oh! I see Jadis has appeared after all. At least, through the reflection of that stone slab. Although, since that seems to be her assigned throne (Jagganoth’s probably destroyed, considering the state of his section of the table), I suppose she could just be perpetually reflected through it.
See, I was puzzling over this yesterday. While the colors don’t match, I expected the reflected one to be Gog-Agog precisely because his/her face is still covered in shadows, and the silhouette does not strike me as resembling Jadis at all. Meanwhile, the “funny” one sitting at the table is getting her eyebrows painted on her pale face, which would fit Jadis’ appearance.
Then again, I get the feeling you’re right anyway. With how much they’ve changed, it makes it hard to tell.
No, no, you are correct. Jadis is the one who has… shall we say, broadened her sense of humor, and it is Gog-Agog who resides within the slab (for whatever reason). Hazy-Eye may have misread a piece of the histories at some point (as have we all, I am sure). it is difficult to read through a haze, after all.
I discovered each Demiurge’s name through my researches into a secret archive (http://orbitaldropkick.tumblr.com/post/82790283313/mammon-jadis-jagganoth-incubus-mottom-solomon#notes). Each name seemed to fit in sequence, so I took it for granted that it was entirely correct. Well. Far be it from me to question the wisdom of one more learned than I. Certainly, I know nothing of what came before my time (didn’t even know this started as an MSPA adventure when I first began reading). Although, if the order of names was not wrong, may I posit that the two simply switched faces? Considering Lord Androsphinx’ interests in faces (pages 3-36, 3-37), it seems possible for there to be a business in face trading. Although, I imagine it may not necessarily have been such a pleasant ordeal?

I rather suspect Gog-Agog is indeed the green one; their face once but a shadow, they now try various appearances for theirself in a fit of envy towards the beautiful. The blue Jadis, meanwhile, resides ever unmoving in her slab of stone.

I wonder if Solomon David happens to be the THE Solomon David. Interesting to note if I have counted right one Lord of Infinity hasn’t even sent a representative while Solomon David represents himself with no servants.
It would appear to be the case that the Solomon seen here is indeed Solomon David. I have to wonder though if it is the whole of Solomon David, rather than merely an extension of his power, as I wonder for dearest Mother Om.

By my count it is either Mammon or Jagganoth who has sent to representative. In either case, I tentatively fear why they have refused to appear. Perhaps they are already drawing close to the key, as their opponents waste time speaking.
The representatives should be Mammon’s (the yellow-clad ones) and Incubus’ (in white and red). Jagganoth simply seems to be absent (and expected to be), his place at the table presumably the empty, heaviyl cracked spot.
Could he be Solomon, son of David, from our own Hebrew myths? That would put our Earth under his 111,111-world-spanning dominion, with our Lord only known to us through the tales warped by time of his Chosen People. Our world would simply have been remote and unattractive enough to be spared the ravages of war and conquest the likes of which we only know of in our darkest myths.
I wonder if Allison knows about such legends. It would be interesting to see her face up to something she is somewhat familiar with, if only through books.
Someone on another forum suggested that the Demiurges have come to represent the seven deadly sins, and I can see it.
Lust – Incubus
Gluttony – Mottom
Greed – Mammon
Sloth -Jadis
Wrath – Jagganoth
Envy – Gog-Agog
Pride – Solomon-David
I actually asked Abbadon about this and he said that yes, there are 7 to match the 7 deadly sins. At first I thought it was because the Demiurges are based on the Hebdomad from Gnosticism (6 High Archons and their lord Yaldabaoth) who are the corrupt lesser divinities that rule over the physical universe. Turns out it was half-true.
That would also fit with the colors traditionally associated with the sins
Lust- Pink
Gluttony- Orange
Greed- Yellow
Sloth- Blue
Wrath- Red
Envy- Green
Pride- Purple
something to wonder – do the keys of the kings open and close the gate from a single universe to Throne, or can you use them to travel to any world you want? I don’t see how conquest would be possible otherwise, if each of the kings was the only one who could travel from their home to Throne and back; and also how Zoss and his pursuers were able to travel to Allison’s world (unless there’s a twist there we’re not yet privy to)
(It also makes me curious as to what happened to the other (presumed) 777,769 Keys.
Maybe it’s possible to have more than one Key in one’s forehead at one time?
Maybe there are entire ranks of nobles with gifted Keys under each Black Emperor)

Well, I’m just a girl who sells fruits and veggies out of the back of a spider cart in the bazaar, and I’m certainly not a scholar, god, knight, or anybody with fancy vocabulary, so I’ll just put this plain.
Yisun damn, that some nice cleavage. Bet Cio’s got her beat though. And even if she doesn’t, at least she knows that hidden gold in a vault’s way more alluring then copper coins on the street.
It does not matter what coin lies in the vault for it’s allure is from its secrecy. It matters not what coins lie inside, gods will kill themselves to open the vault, just to sate their curiosity.
A little something I noticed upon rereading, since people have noted the similarities in the apperances of the Demiurges and their respective servants: The riders that seemingly killed the Conquering King and kidnapped Allison’s boyfriends appear to be followers of Incubus, given their exposed chests and one-eyes white masks, details they share with his own battle dress as seen in 82’s story.
That, combined with the fact that he took the center stage in the original spread introducing the Demiurges, lead me to believe that he may well be the most important antagonist in this story.
Good observation, though it seems a tad odd that Incubus’ men would do the kidnapping, but then Alison’s BF would end up in the hands of (presumably) Mottom and then be talked about in a conference in which Incubus is absent.
Incubus would also be appropriate given the timing of the attack. As for why he would give Allison’s BF to Mottom but not show up, perhaps he realized already that the BF was less important, and gave him as a distraction to the others?
Have patience young master Furlucis, there will always be something to wait for. If you were not waiting for this you would be waiting for the next page. Such is life.
