It’s like the faith of conspiracy theorists (Or dare I say it? The religious.) they expect at some level for the secret masters to be more perfect than we ourselves are.
But it ain’t true.
It’s an infinite regress of madness and stupidity. Assholes all the way up and turtles all the way down.
Allison has found that all the demiurges (Mottom, Mammon, Solomon David) either utterly hate their godhood or are too delusional (Gog-Agog, Incubus, Jaggonoth.) to realize it’s all a trap.
I wonder if her father raised her like this purposefully, in order to destroy her confidence and sense of self, to be utterly obedient to him. Then he could plug her into the great machine and treat her like another part of it, as an aware, intelligent interface for him to use, sparing himself the direct experience of the Shape but still being able to access its knowledge.
I think his plan either worked perfectly, or went extremely off the rails.
Is no-one gonna mention how Allison tore out her other eye in the previous page?
Nevermind, I am mistaken.

Yaaasssss Alison!
Also, I think Jadis really is trying to help, in her own way…

I like how Alison just keeps smoking and taking it all in stride at this point.
Where did she even get the smokes? I don’t remember her picking those up
You can see them a couple pages ago when Zaid finds her chilling on a swing reading a book.
You know, those first order vatras DO have a really wicked body painting patterns.
Edging ever closer to “Don’t wear it out”
wait, I can’t have caught up
holy crap, I thought the latest one was still a ways to go
k6bd has some heavy borgian shit going on
I appreciate the symbology of her denying the prosthesis. But there wasn’t any real reason for her to blind that eye again.
She has been known to do impulsive things, that one, even if said things aren’t necessarily in her best interest. 🤦🏻
Still tearing out perfectly fine biomechanical eye and losing binocular vision , losing depth perception is just .. wrong move , to say it mildly.
