Ladies and gentlemen, we have breakfast.
Also man, we are jumping all over the place with time. At least it should have been enough time for Allison to get back on her feet.
If that will truly turn to this then we can throw whole story into the trash, really. Especially now with Cio being dead, Allisson accepting that, and now we would get buffed up Zaid to took the place and save the day. It indeed would make whole story pointless for Allisson sake as MC, author already thrown her character development away seeing what she became is pointless, so he can simply do the rest too. Much more would prefer for him to be Jag team assassin to scout the situation in the tower looking for key before final attack.
Hah it’s not going to be either of those. If this is Zaid, he’s going to climb in, find Allison, she’s going to offer him the key because she’s depressed, and he will turn her down. Specifically because he has come to the conclusion that him having the key is a bad idea, for a verity of both personal and practical reasons. He knows what’s at stake, he knows how fucked the situation is, and he knows that while Allison has to take the lead role, she shouldn’t have to do it all by herself.
Hmmm, now I’m pretty much intrigued (as if i weren’t already). So who can this be? As commenters have pointed earlier, there’re signs alteratively indicating:
1. Zaid
2. Someone following Meti’s teachings, probably trained Maya
3. Something demonic (yet he doesn’t look like a devilskin warrior, despite a classic Pale mask)
4. Zoss (unlikely, but still possible – especially if we embrace the old theory that he is actually Zaid from the future, [s]no time to explain[/s]).
We’re going to see.
you know’ i really cant seem to figure out what the common opinion on this arc is. it prob becuse i cant read tone in writing well. like, does the avrege reader like or dislike this arc?
My opinion is that this arc is tiresome. But it’s supposed to be. And probably flows better reading it as a book rather than laboriously one page at a time.
More to the point, the character is depressed and the reader is supposed to feel depressed. She’s being manipulated by a *godlike representation of ennui*, and we’re supposed to be frustrated. She’s ill and stuck in a hospital and we’re supposed to *feel what that’s like.* Awful. Alison feels like her adventure is over so the comic no longer feels like a fun adventure.
So, a lot of people are feeling down on it. Which is fair. What’s not fair is assuming that this is the end.
HEY GUYS WHAT IF INCUBUS MADE A DEAL WITH ZAID AND GOT HIM THE RED EYES AND POWER TO GO AND RECOVER HIS ‘GF’ ?
I mean, Allison got the red eyes when she was possessed with the Ego, what if?
This overly literal argument about whether Jadis is correct about her omniscience is very weird to me because, like, this is fiction? This is a story with a narrative arc and characters and themes? Nothing about this comic so far leads me to believe that the story is going to end with “yep, there wasn’t anything the main characters could do, the destruction of the multiverse was predetermined from the very beginning, this was all a big waste of time. Oops!”
I mean, if this comic is going to end in any kind of a satisfactory manner, Jadis has to be at least partially wrong. That’s not to say that the main characters are definitely going to succeed and good will triumph over evil — I’m expecting a much more ambivalent ending based on the overall tone of the comic — but an ending that concludes the main characters had no agency in their own lives seems way more cynical than K6BD has been so far.
Of course the multiverse will be destroyed, it’s quite clear that it’s rotten. Literally infested with worms. Allison will become the new godhead, and everything will be remade.
I think you’re right that the comic will end more or less like that. I’m saying that if it’s possible to make a new multiverse or change the multiverse on some fundamental level, that would prove Jadis wrong in her conclusions if not in her premise.
Took Zaid 3 years and 6 months to climb that thing… He actually got here about 2 years ago but didn’t have a good grip on that ledge when he tried to pull himself over and ended up slipping and tumbling back to the bottom. Hence why there’s such a definitive grab for it this time, and a double arm grab before carefully pulling up.
Seriously though, Jadis should know he’s there and even that he was coming.
Not sure why she’s been attempting to encourage Allison to end herself but I guess it’s either just Jadis following her pre-determines set of decisions or that someone ending their existence is outside of her predictive capabilities and actually alters timelines
Not sure how metabolism works on your world, but convincing someone to eat food instead of starving themselves seems the opposite of convincing them to end themselves. According to her, Allison lives for years to come, she couldn’t convince her to die before then if she tried. What she would like to see Allison do is live a life that she wants instead of feeling like she needs to go to war.
I’m not suggesting she’s trying to convince Allison to die. I’m suggesting she’s trying to convince Allison to end her existence.
Apparently all the others who were with Jadis when she saw the shape of the universe ended their existence. I’m suspecting that a complete end to one’s existence might operate outside Jadis’ complete predictive capabilities.
Despite the consistent offer of Breakfast, Jadis’ words over the last few pages have been a constant suggestion that Allison simply give up and stop fighting.
Finally, the down to earth and street-smart rapscallion who will solve all of our heroine’s problems by proving that she didn’t need to take any agency at all but instead just needed to follow the lead of the very last person to show up.
I’m in!
we got a intruderrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Yo, things are happening again!
WHITE CHAIN! Has to be!
Actually, nvm, that’s definetly a male build and White Chain has darker skin more like Solomons.
Anyways, as others said, things are finally happening.
Never has breakfast been such a sisyphean effort. But was it for naught? Or a required stepping stone?
Buzz Buzz
Well aren’t those ear piercings and topknot-tail familiar. Zoss, is that you?
Ladies and gentlemen, we have breakfast.
Also man, we are jumping all over the place with time. At least it should have been enough time for Allison to get back on her feet.
Welp, looks like all she needed was man to rescue him :T
If that will truly turn to this then we can throw whole story into the trash, really. Hear ye, hear ye, the true strength of a female protagonist is not accepting help, ever! Otherwise, she might be helped by *scoff* A MAN!
That’s what the tournament arc was about, apparently.
CLEARLY Solomon was right and you should never accept help from anyone ever especially if they are male.

Whoever this guy is he hasn’t come for Allision, he’s searching for the key.
Abaddon, thank you for making this wonderful, heartfelt comic.

Who’s that -Pokemon- guy

There is no common opinion; reader reactions are _very_ diverse.
My opinion is that this arc is tiresome. But it’s supposed to be. And probably flows better reading it as a book rather than laboriously one page at a time.

dude/sis/schnitzel, you just put how i felt about this arc but couldnt quite explain into words. thanks for that.

Food tray was on her right side. That’s her left hand.
Is it “what” is the mask or is it “who” is the mask?
You know…. What ever happened to INGSVALD?

Watching the fandom getting to grips with mortality and the inherent absurdity of the universe has been a strange mix of entertaining and dispiriting.
Of course the multiverse will be destroyed, it’s quite clear that it’s rotten. Literally infested with worms. Allison will become the new godhead, and everything will be remade.

So did Jadis know this would happen?
Bravo Six going dark
There is no free will, and it is inevitable that you will choose breakfast.
Still, you must make the choice, and it is your choice to make.
If you can’t simultaneously believe two mutually contradictory things before breakfast, you are not true Royalty.

But as always, violence is inevitable.

O ye of little faith.
Dude went on a journey and became a rogue warrior. Respect.
