In fact, possible that Aspected Chaos can read Incubus’ intents, either through the key in his forehead, and/or Incubus’ ‘residency’ in Allison’s head.
She knew he was going to make a show of stabbing an invulnerable God of War through the chest, and got ahead of that.
Perhaps the intervention by Allison/Cio/White Chain has complicated Incubus’s plan ?
Wasn’t his original plan some kind of conspiracy/co-operation with Jagganoth ?
And he did initially tell Allison to RUN.
So… perhaps he was intending to fake-stab Jagganoth, which would have given him more power or something, but now that plan has been scuppered by the intervention, and he’s actually stabbed Jagganoth for reals.
That was my first thought, now I keep staring at that panel and trying to figure out if it’s the “starter” position to leap in, possibly to do something horrible like get the worms inside a crack in Jaggy’s shell, devour him from the inside and wear his (nigh) indestructible skin as a suit of armour… or if they’re kneeling to lean forward for a better view/prepare for another shockwave…
Either way, everything is focused on Jagganoth now but we must not forget the other demiurges did not suddenly become the bestest friends to anyone.
Allison just allowed them to damage a being who is supposed to be utterly impervious to harm. What’s happening right now is reality-breaking, and everyone who knows the significance of that is currently bracing for impact.
The last time someone who could not be hurt got hurt, an angel obtained human form. In such cases where the impossible happens, it’s best to prepare for reality taking a look at the situation and politely inquiring about what the fuck is going on.
nah there’s some kinda super magic backlash going on. pretty sure she’s doing her best not to get flung the fuck away on account of holy shit there is a hell of a show going on right now.
Yes, I think “super magic backlash” pretty well sums it up. First Inky’s shock at being sucked into whatever is happening to Jaggy and now things are gonna blow up real good.
…I was not expecting this to happen. I really was not. This will certainly be a sight to report back to my boss.
Surely a mere blade cannot pierce the Belligerent God? Half of me thinks the apocalypse has been cancelled, sudden power vacuum among the demiurges aside, but the rest of me knows better.
Pretty sure Inky charged that “mere blade” with some demiurge power and is wielding it using some fancy form whose name is at least 6 words long. It’s not like a random shmuck just came up and poked at Jagger with a rusty piece of iron.
A swift one up the exhaust port would be a low blow even for the likes of Inky. Both he and Jaggsy look a tad surprised though. I wonder what’s going on…?
Wow… I don’t even know what to make of most of this, so I’ll just point out that two pages back Jadis was really bright, and now she’s dark. The demiurge of sloth wouldn’t have lit up for dramatic effect, so what did she do?
I think previously she was channeling power into that binding strand thing, but now it’s a ‘projectile’/has exploded and isn’t in need of continuous channeled power so that’s over.
Huh, someone owes me a fiver. I was sure Incubus wasted his whole meter, but last page made it look like it was going to work. Good to know that swords continue to be useless things.
As the spokes of a wheel hold to the nave, so does all this (beginning with names and ending in hope) hold to spirit.
That spirit moves by the spirit, it gives spirit to the spirit.
Father means spirit, mother is spirit, brother is spirit, sister is spirit, tutor is spirit, Brâhmana is spirit.
2. ‘For if one says anything unbecoming to a father, mother, brother, sister, tutor or Brâhmana, then people say, Shame on thee! thou hast offended thy father, mother, brother, sister, tutor, or a Brâhmana.
3. ‘But, if after the spirit has departed from them, one shoves them together with a poker, and burns them to pieces, no one would say,
Thou offendest thy father, mother, brother, sister, tutor or a Brâhmana.
4. ‘Spirit then is all this.
He who sees this, perceives this, and understands this, becomes an ativâdin.
If people say to such a man,
Thou art an ativâdin,
he may say, I am an ativâdin;
he need not deny it.’
I can’t think anyone can seriously think that Jagg is going to kick the bucket right here… Well I don’t.
I don’t think he’s going to pull out a “it’s not even my final form” either.

I’m uncertain if Aspect Chaos is winking at the audience, or shielding her eyes from the sparkles.
Given that the other eye is looking to the right and not at the screen, presumably it’s the latter.
She’s winking at Incubus.
The real secret of sword arts: any man wielding a sword is the tool of a greater power.
I’ve always suspected that Incubus was a tool to the highest power.
In fact, possible that Aspected Chaos can read Incubus’ intents, either through the key in his forehead, and/or Incubus’ ‘residency’ in Allison’s head.
She knew he was going to make a show of stabbing an invulnerable God of War through the chest, and got ahead of that.
Hence the wink.
‘tool to the highest power’ – nice, minigendo.
he done gone and sprung a dadgum leak
Through Mpreg, Victory
What a terrible day to have eyes.

Don’t think Incubus was expecting to actually pierce him, methinks.
Perhaps the intervention by Allison/Cio/White Chain has complicated Incubus’s plan ?
Wasn’t his original plan some kind of conspiracy/co-operation with Jagganoth ?

Complicated, for sure.
Except Inky seemed genuinely surprised at Jaggy’s attack. Looks to me that their ‘deal’ was broken before it got anywhere.
curse their sudden yet inevitable betrayal !
what did he expect, when he struck with the blade called want?
Perhaps the real demiurge was the friends we made along the way
I don’t know why, but this comment made me laugh out loud.
Well played, fellow traveler, well played.
The Flame Catches, Its Gaze, Cast Forward Into The Unknown
Gog Agog looks rather…. prepared for something.
or preparing.
ominous.
Me thinks she’s suspicious.
Originally I was thinking, that she was looking prepared/ready in a comical way, but now I feel a chill crawling up my spine.
I think she’s annoyed that the dirty sword man stabbed Jagganoth instead of the Giant Woman
“Darn, I was just about to jump in and give that red god what for!”
nah there’s some kinda super magic backlash going on. pretty sure she’s doing her best not to get flung the fuck away on account of holy shit there is a hell of a show going on right now.
Yes, I think “super magic backlash” pretty well sums it up. First Inky’s shock at being sucked into whatever is happening to Jaggy and now things are gonna blow up real good.
I dunno, looks like she needs to eat more fibre to me…
…I was not expecting this to happen. I really was not. This will certainly be a sight to report back to my boss.
Surely a mere blade cannot pierce the Belligerent God? Half of me thinks the apocalypse has been cancelled, sudden power vacuum among the demiurges aside, but the rest of me knows better.
I think the 3-part javelin disrupted the skin’s angelic armor, and the sword followed up.
Pretty sure Inky charged that “mere blade” with some demiurge power and is wielding it using some fancy form whose name is at least 6 words long. It’s not like a random shmuck just came up and poked at Jagger with a rusty piece of iron.
The technique is possibly one of Meti’s, in which case it might not have a name at all. You just stab something, completely and utterly.
Truth
I’m wondering if this was really the sword penetrating … or the sword shattering
SHNK is a piercy sound… right?
Or the sword being absorbed, perhaps with Incubus to follow.
Inky’s expression just screams “NANI?!!”
Or perhaps it’s one of those joke blades that collapses into the hilt. April fools fellow demiurges, he’s only pretending to stab him!
So it wasn’t the exhaust port….
Not that I wouldn’t approve, but it would steal a bit of the gravitas if Incubus pierced the exhaust port, so to say.
Behold the true greatest of Thorn Knights: 6 Reaction Shots Bringing Ever Greater Tension to Cliffhangers.
They don’t like it up ’em!
A swift one up the exhaust port would be a low blow even for the likes of Inky. Both he and Jaggsy look a tad surprised though. I wonder what’s going on…?
mick jagganoth? surprised? look at the eye glint. thats the universal Smugness Indication of a trap imminently-sprung
Raise your hands to the Sacred Flames! What was once ash shall burn anew!
Veiny Bowie was really not expecting that to work, huh.
I’m pretty sure I could see Jagganoth’s head removed from his neck, and I still wouldn’t buy it.
Well, it didn’t work for Zoss either.
You just need the right salesman…
“Demiurge’s ‘ead on a stick! Come and getcher Demiurge’s ‘ead on a stick ‘ere!”
Huh, someone owes me a fiver. I was sure Incubus wasted his whole meter, but last page made it look like it was going to work. Good to know that swords continue to be useless things.
Good job Gog Agog, you did it!
POWER OF FRIENDSHIP AND WORMS
Oh we really need to hope that did the job.
Isn’t that the eye she’s going to lose? Is she going to lose it from looking at the explosion? I thought it would’ve happened in battle….
Something tells me that the Red God is only a mirage, a slight of hand, designed to distract from the horrible rage he holds.
From the Upanishads
FIFTEENTH KHANDA.
1. ‘Spirit (prâna) is better than hope.
If people say to such a man,
Thou art an ativâdin,
he may say, I am an ativâdin;
he need not deny it.’
Methinks it’s still too easy.
It is the fact that Incubus is surprised that this worked that makes me wonder.
A fallen tower makes for a good bridge
I can’t think anyone can seriously think that Jagg is going to kick the bucket right here… Well I don’t.
I don’t think he’s going to pull out a “it’s not even my final form” either.
The next weeks are going to be so slow…
Did he just teleport out.? As WC said, invulnerable he may be, but not to pain. I think he looked a bit pained.
Idk what you guys see. To me she looks like she dropped her glasses on the floor and can’t find them.
