All he did was unleash her ego, which promptly got out of hand and was way to massive for even incubus to control. After that bed been training her to use her key better.
My favorite depiction of the Pit King thus far (and i mean no sarcasm, really).
It saddens me greatly that this is the final chapter. Nor Jadis nor Gog-Agog will get their own books, and it is always sad to know something one cherishes is nearing its end.
That said, i’m positive this will be a final arc to remember. I only hope the girls and 10 Vigilant kick ass, Zaid earns the respect of the fanbase and Solomon David lives (the last one is a stretch, but it would be a nice surprise, I’d like to see what he does after the whole thing is over)
I think SD got some honorable respect in the last book.
I admit I’d like him to live and hopefully find some closure from his past and mend his ways, but if the story demands that he has to go, then so be it.
I am gladded that the destruction was limited to the arena and while no doubt wiping out much of the population (particularly the military and possibly all of the higher classes) it did not spread into the city as I feared it had.
Friends! It has been so long since I set foot in this public forum. And I finally did it! I got a new name and made my way home.
But alas, when I returned, I found that it was no longer home. It had changed. Or perhaps… I had changed. Now I cast off these trappings and return to this void.
Calling it : Maya is an envoy of Jagganoth, and has made a pact with him for power and revenge agains the fool. Strenght for service in the war to come.
That seems unlikely, because Incubus is allied with Mick Jagger, because she seems to abhor pointless violence, and because her last name is literally “Murder the Gods and Topple their Thrones”.
While I do believe this is indeed unlikely, in all fairness, her last name does line up with what Jagganoth intends to do for most part. One is made to wonder however: What happens in Jagganoth’s plan, once he is done with the universe?
Will he continue to exist in an empty universe? Will he go down with the flames as well?
I wonder if Solomon’s big “power up” page was less him charging up like a Dragon Ball character and more a call to the other Demiurges as they all started showing up after that.
…Well… Except for slothy who kind of saw it coming… which is probably why Solomon switched so quick from wondering WTF she was doing there to realising exactly why she was there.
I wonder what the connotation is when every master of the principal art of cutting has uncut hair and Maya plans to confront Incubus with a hairpin and a sword?
Masters of the martial arts often focus on their discipline to the exclusion of all else, including personal grooming. Many are notoriously disheveled. Meticulously-groomed Solomon David is a notable exception to that trend, but then again, his whole thing is capital-P Pride…
Allison’s halo on the first page of this book is shaped like Maya’s tuning fork/hair clip, and Allison’s outfit is sporting a number of sigils and patches showing the same image.
Maya is going to be Allison’s next (final?) master.
It occurs to me here that the hairpin of our esteemed Murder the Gods and Topple their Thrones is the inverse form of a key of kings, no? Though we so rarely see the full shape of those most accursed and heavenly weapons, they are known to resemble their namesake – a circle with a stem extending from it. I am led then down a meandering path of wonder, for if this is the basis of its form it seems she carries the absence of a key with her, a negative space perhaps filled with Royalty. Or if not, I would have to dream it a Sword. One that semiotics cannot contain, its whispering blade held softly on the tongue of its Division. But no matter what it may yet prove to be, there is certainty in this: one who joins battle with a Cut Circle in hand will swiftly separate their foes’ blood from their foes’ veins.
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog, I will keep visiting this blog very often.
I’m maybe in the minority here but I’m more interested in Incubus than Maya
Incubus is my favorite character so I’m pretty interested in what his deal is too, though I wouldn’t mind terribly if Maya cut him in half just once~
I hope they both survive until the end, they’re both interesting characters we know far too little about!
I would. I want Allison to end Incubus. He deserves it for what he tried to do to her, and she did promise.
All he did was unleash her ego, which promptly got out of hand and was way to massive for even incubus to control. After that bed been training her to use her key better.
Look at him, burrowing out of the ground like some kind of divine gopher.

And not a moment too soon, I see.
HIMSELF probably. God I need to see that now.
I am very ready for Meti to come and wreck Incubus’ shit.

Will it be something different?
Jaggy’s plan involves at least one (1) god not being murdered.

Today empirical testing shows the speed of sloth is surprisingly F A S T !
And there’s the eighth of the seven.
A roaring rampage or revengeance
you should know that a soul can’t be cut, no matter what blade you wield

Wevenge!
It’s K-k-Ken, c-c-c-coming to kill me!
*gets feet stuck in mood*
Incubus’ words are red. I believe they used to be black in all of his prior appearances?
Lets see if she could do what Meti could never do: Stop swinging when it is time

…or has someone already said that before?
