KSBD 4-76
Chapter: 4
“To train with the sword, first master sweeping.
When you have mastered sweeping, you must master the way of drawing water. Once you have learned how to draw water, you must split wood. Once you have split wood, you must learn the arts of finding the fine herbs in the forest, the arts of writing, the arts of paper making, and poetry writing. You must become familiar with the awl and the pen in equal measure. When you have mastered all these things you must master building a house.
Once your house is built, you have no further need for a sword, since it is an ugly piece of metal and its adherents idiots.”
– Meti’s Sword Manual
I am assuming that this perishment is no permanent for one such as her?
Oh, and I am delighted to have been first, however reviled acknowledgment of such an accomplishment is.
Were Gog-Agog so easy to slay, she would have never stood as part of the Seven to begin with.
No spoilers, but a fun factoid for future references: We’re later told one third of the 111.111 universes under Gog-Agog’s domain “are” Gog-Agog.
So, probably not.
Interesting, Gog-Agog first appears wrathful, then Prideful, then lustful, perhaps a reflection of her own envious nature?
Reflection of the last speaker, which actually make me wonder if we won’t see a shriveled head Gog-Agog next page.
WELP. O_O
I get the feeling she does this a lot. Explode into giblets I mean. I may have to join the Mottom fan club though, that’s even more badass than Sith lightning.
…Damn, she could probably single-handedly fund a cosmetics industry if she has to re-do her makeup every time too, haha.
It appears that I will be the second.
Wow. Now Mottom looks like a lich queen not unlike Jadis. Also a nice one. Wormlings are annoying.
Meanwhile, the plot thickens. King Zoss was chased by Thorn angels? Who took the guy they must’ve mistaken for a successor. (Unless he really was, and Zoss was forced to improvise. Or just improvised while being chased.) And got caught by Jagganoth, who is indeed wrathful, red and great, but far from being an idiot. So now he really wants to know WTF is happening? As we all do.
Delightful. Make more.
Anyone else super hyped to see Mammon? I want to see what earns him the title of “Grand Dragon”
Both the biblical god of Mammon and the European concept of dragon are related to greed. So greed maybe?
Interestingly, Gog Agog is copying the body-language of each of the last person she accuses or refers to. Something about her personality or powers, maybe?
her clothes also change now that I think about it
Her clothes also change, now that I think about it.
From what i can tell, her entire existence seems to be based around imitation of others. I would bet that Gog-Agog is no more than a sentinient mass of worms, in longing – envious, even – of a more natural shape.
Sentient, rather. My mistake.
Perhaps more than imitation… she also seems to be subtly assuming the vocal mannerisms of those she responds to. What if she is speaking the thoughts they each hide in their own minds with each of her accusations? Could her “imitation” go much, much deeper than might be apparent?
That might explain Mottom’s rather… abrupt interruption.
I must say, Mottom doesn’t make a very convincing argument to convince her companions of her innocence. That being said, I appriciate her capacity and talent of not wasting words during this paricular discussion.
I don’t know, PERISH seems like a pretty good argument to me.
Yet another amazing Offering, Abbadon. I can’t wait to see where this whole thing is headed.
Also, a side note, I know you’re probably crazy busy with other things and the comic itself but I’m sure most of us readers would love some more additions to the Daemoniac to hold us over between Wednesdays.
So are the thorn knights affiliated with Incubus in any way? I was curious as to the symbolism others pointed out with the BF’s kidnappers having only one eye and open chested shirts, but perhaps thats simply an angel thing(23 has one eye, same as 82).
Or maybe Incubus himself aped the appearance of angels for his battle armour? That’s what I reckon.
Appearing angelic would be rather fitting of him.
Gestalt work colony beings are held to such unrealistic expectations of beauty nowadays.
I wonder what these new gods think of the first – and the dead terrible enemy, who was named “I”.
Each time you update I am briefly happy because I get to see more of this wonderful world you built, then I am sad because I will never get to see all of it.
Keep in mind the dreadful alternative would be to be once and immensely delighted to gaze at such marvelous construct, but then become forever perilously saddened that there is nothing else more to see of it.
The amount of detail in every picture and every frame never seizes to astonish… I’ve read through the series like three times and I keep finding small tokens and hints, symbolism and hidden easter-eggs.
Noticing how Gog-Agog copies the person of her last accusation, one must wonder what Mottom dislikes about it.
Thank you once again, Lord Abaddon. We might be ignorant of the teachings, but all the more attentive to the learning through his works.
ew gross the queen of worms is made of worms.
The First Consort seems ill at ease sitting in a gathering of gods. But not enough to still her tongue when faced with slights against her Lord Incubus.
Well, she’s got a classic dilemma here. Stand her ground on anything and she’ll offend the other gods and get PERISH!ed. Don’t stand her ground and she’ll disappoint her master, which probably isn’t healthy either. Catch-666 (which is like a catch-22 with extra demons).
I bet you 999 trillion worth of dollars in Monopoly money and 666 metaphysical coins of falsehood (of my own making) that she ain’t dead!
Also, I reckon that Grey DeLisle would make a great Mottom if KSBD/K6BD ever received an animated adaptation (a man can dream). Honestly, I think she’d be perfect for the role.
I doubt that anyone would bet against you, Preem Bobert. Not even in coins of falsehood.
Ahh, but the coins of falsehood are the best item to own out of all! The more you have the more easier you can swindle people into believing your logical fallacies! Chief amongst them the insanity/sanity fallacy:
Common logic dictates that if someone insists on being insane they are most likely a sane person but rather delusional or attention starved. But most insane people insist that they are in fact right and not crazy at all and the green sky of their native home world really is the colour of “Octarine”.
The best way to drive someone to pure frothing madness is to introduce them to this fallacy after they accuse you of being mad or an attention seeker. All you have to do is to perform increasingly erratic and contradictory behaviour, deny your own philosophy, feign and forget and insist on making a total fool of yourself until your victim completely and utterly snaps! As an insult to injury point out some kind of blatant fact, like say: Tomatoes are actually fruit not vegetables.
That amount of monopoly money would probably be worth quite a bit just as bulk paper that can be easily recycled.
I just realized Gog-Agog mimics the last person talking, and the last person to talk was Mottom, after which Gog-Agog is a mess of ruined flesh…
notice also that Gog-Agog appears to be stretching out her right hand, mimicking Mottom even in destruction
The outfit changed when she was mimicking Incubus’s servant, too. In the panel before, she has a red neckerchief that completely covers her cleavage, but after the servant speaks and she responds, it’s all on display.
“The initiate into the hermetic mysteries will be taught the use of many tools. Circles, geometric shapes, elements, powders, goblets, music, mathematics, wands, gems, staves, swords, coins, pentacles, glass, pyramids, charts, diagrams, ritual purification, and fire. The initiate will believe these to be key to their power.
The Master knows these are affectations. That only Words and Will are necessary. And by the speaking of those words, the Master may bend the cosmos to his Will.”
-Visius bani Trifalger, “On Hermetic Theory And The Use Of Ritual Implements”
I wouldn’t be so quick as to dismiss all symbols like that. Symbols help with our understanding of the nature of existence.
Imagine a massive powerful bloke with a lot of will and physical fortitude but not only is he illiterate but he has no true understanding of the reality around him so what good are his words when he can only say “Hargguguflubluhuhugle”? It’s pure gibberish and carries no power or intent. Whereas a neophyte of magic can recognise the connection between symbols and the things they represent to draw upon his power.
The face, the hair, the ditzy/confused voice… is Gog-Agog mocking Allison before she mocks the demiurges?
You know, I have to wonder. Maybe Gog-Agog knows something the others don’t?
Maybe her envy will ultimately be directed towards Allison. An green-eyed-beast so strong, it binds people who have yet to even meet. It may be like-… Envy at first sight.
Truly the ability of the biological, even if a God is weak compared to metal and holy script. My, it seems that mere words can cut deep the frail bond of meat and sinew, even the flesh of a God.
She can’t really be dead. If one of the others could have killed her that easily, she would have died during the war.

Just caught the Requiem Chevalier Vampire reference in the test post for that last page.
A thought. Gog-Agog represents envy, yeah? What if Ol’ Goggy stole Mottom’s previous beauty, turning her into a withered crone? She definitely has no patience for for Gog-Agog’s accusations or mimicry antics.
oooh i like that theory…
An interesting thought, Preem Rx. I just might steal it for myself.
So the queen of worms is a pile of worms wearing enough makeup to look like an rough approximation of a beautiful (If a bit tacky) woman?
That is correct, Pree Tammus, Gog-Agog is indeed a veritable parody of even the most basic of networked forms.
