Praise be to YISUN, the One of Ones who spins Time like a perfect lie! The Wheel turns, but the number of spokes is finite and thus, you can see yourself in the past and in the future if you squint.
The violent, handsome King is the one who was, who will be and who is. We saw him in far past that is a present for us, and will see him in far future.
The ruling king must reach heaven through violence, such is the way of all creations both physical and narrative.
But then, what is a throne that does not yearn for touch of kingship? Was the Throne blessed with a capital always this way, or was it’s waiting an inevitable result of it’s future ownership?
You great star, what would your happiness be had you not those for whom you shine?
დიდი ვარსკვლავი, რა თქვენი ბედნიერება უნდა ჰქონდა თქვენ არ ვისთვისაც თქვენ ბრწყინავს?
Enter heaven through violence, indeed. For how else could one possibly enter the mantle of creation.
Through devotion? Through Love? Peace? Do not be blind! Heaven is an implacable wall that will not be breached cept for those who choose to enter.
At first, I suspected the Attendant shown in panel 5 to be the ‘bus’. I was not correct, but clearly the ‘bus’ was one of these beings. This suggests the man we see might actually have left enough intact pieces in his wake for them to serve a more useful purpose. Truly a man of vision.
I do find his design grand and formidable. I am uncertain, however, if his right arm is armoured or cybernetic. I am not even certain, yet, if this tale is the sort that would allow the latter. One can hope.
The “6 Billion” figure in the title…Is that referring to the long or short scale number? It’s quite important she know whether to kill 10^9 demons, or 10^12.
So… Anyone care to explain the comments around here? I think most of them are supposed to be quotes from books that exist in the comic’s world, or something. That’s fine, but I can’t tell them from real ones. I thought for a while that real comments have red names, while the cryptic quotes have black ones, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Some of them are quotes from the 36 Lessons of Vivec, one of the many inspirations for this comic. Some are original content, posted because the author seems to encourage that sort of thing around here.
Once, there was a Maiden…
… Who sought to meet with God.
She learned all there was to Know.
She found the Way to Paradise.
She reached the Gates of Heaven.
She turned around and walked away.
“Dreams are of no use once Awake,” she said.
This comic… I love it so much, with all of my jumping-blood-pump (aka heart). It’s so brilliant. The art, the crazy worldbuilding, the esoteric lore. Whoop, dudes and dudettes, it’s insanity time, she-dogs (and he-dogs)!
Anyway, Abaddon, I saw you got approached by Kirkbride, that’s so cool! Hope you’ll make something cool together. 😀
No, no more ‘splaining! I gotta call it a night for now. Interesting comic, amazing art, but the story is a bit wordy. I also don’t like it when people say, “As you know”, but maybe that’s just me.
which is the case for a lot of blogs I know of. There are ways other than direct approval to make sure no f bombs get dropped, no one gets slandered, etc. No system I know of is perfect, but yours sounds like a pretty nice setup. But not all bloggers are business owners, consultants,
It depends a lot on the type of traffic and conversation you’re in the midst of how you want to handle comments. Our company’s blog, for example, has much different goals, audiences, and interests than my personal blog, so we have an approvals-based moderation system.
On my own blog, the traffic’s a lot more relational and focused, so for now, I can afford to moderate comments on my own, as they come in. That does change through the life of a blog, but so far, it works for me!
…must come with violence in his heart of hearts.
Occasionally it may seem that the New Sea makes a butchery of the Psalms and Psams; this is entirely the case.
Its terrifying and sad to see the Throne in such a desolate state…
Then again, we will find out why it’s called the Throne.
All that was left to me was the paradox of the egg and the secret ways of eating.
We Saw his Coming.
We Wrote of his Presence.
Planes Overrunning.
The King Coalescent.
Third aflame, light a-hand.
Death Came to the Dead.
Gods’ servants, damned.
A Note of Song.
A Word in a Smile.
The King, erelong.
Laid waste to the Miles.
Colour and Light, awoke.
Throne shook at the Sight.
A Song on his lips;
He Spoke.
That Song is not heard.
Nor seen, nor felt.
Creation transferred.
Befor a King, they knelt.
That’s right, we had seen him before.

Causality is difficult.
The Ruling King who sees in another his equivalent rules nothing.
You great star, what would your happiness be had you not those for whom you shine?

But can not these things be violent? Worship can harm as well as any weapon, and love may be a fist with which to strike.
What matters is intent, and the desire to earn by taking. Nothing can be gained without another’s loss.

Not to mention, doesn’t the peacekeeper resemble that prime/bus a little? Perhaps they’re related.
If only I had some popcorn to eat as I watch this unfold.
Am i the only one who thought of one piece here
….. “I AM THE MAN WHO WILL BECOME KING!”
DAMN YOU!

Nine is an inelegant number, though not so much as the one and one.
And now I am joined to this, as a wolf crunches bones.

Wow he looks like the assiest of badasses!
The first badass of the universe

Scripture of the Maiden Awakened. Suitably Exalted verse for a deed befitting Exaltation, or stemming from it.

Hell yeah. What an introduction
A lot of thanks for every one of your effort on this web page.
Gotta love how a guy inherits creation itself and his first act is murder
